Canareef Resort Maldives

The resort was amazing. The premium room with jacuzzi was stunning, and all the staff went beyond to make our stay so memorable. The range of food in the restaurant was very good, lovely curries each day along with a wide range of other dishes. The chefs were amazing to help my wife, who has to avoid dairy.

I don’t like giving negative reviews especially as the staff here work so hard. We booked with Blue Bay travel. No problems at all travel was seamless. Arrival on the Island went well. Taken to our room, luggage arrived about 10 minutes later. Our room was huge, clean and bed linen was crisp, important to me. Mattress was like sleeping on a slab of marble. We were so tired didn’t really notice until next evening. They did however come later in the week with a mattress topper. Made a little bit of a difference. Room best described as ‘Rustic’. Needs upgrading, The curtains looked as though someone had thrown bleach over them, (pic) bathroom outside was weird for us, but perfectly fine. We had a path to the sea from our room, but not really accessible as full of stones coral and drift wood, quite a big drop to the sand. (Pic) We had a fridge in our room with nothing in it. We were on an all inclusive package…………… ‘but be aware’ it’s not! No explanation anywhere about this. To have drinks in your fridge you have to pay for them. And they are mega expensive! (Pic) Then we have the beach bar. Lovely location set on the most gorgeous beach. Go to the bar order a drink and a snack……….wait for it! Drinks are included, snacks and meals are not! I was a bit taken aback. I explained that we were all inclusive. The barman had been down this route before, I could tell. I told him politely that I’d already paid! He just kept repeating, parrot fashion his original speech. The island is large but narrow. Everything is very far apart. You are provided with bikes, if you can ride. If not there are golf buggy. Perfect you may think………! The paths through the island are sand. It’s an island! When it rains the paths become pot holes and puddles, lots of them. Best to let your food digest a little before coming back to your room on a golf buggy Having said all of this we made the best of it. Food in the restaurant, is good. You won’t starve. I’m not a great fan of spicy food, a lot of it is, but I managed very well. Desserts are delicious. Staff are friendly and seem generally happy. Whole place needs a makeover. Could be a stunning Island. Taken a few pics.

Wow ! If you’re considering going to this resort . Go !! It’s amazing everything we heard about it was just spot ion. Service , accommodation staff were just so friendly helpful we actually felt like they were friends . So lovely it was just the perfect holiday . Thank you to everyone special thanks to the DJ , Didi , life guard , jasmine and General Manager . We will see you again . I read a review this is more 5 than 4 star I would totally agree . Food was that of a five star so much choice

This place is amazing, like many other have said so I’ll just touch on some bits…. The resort as a whole is awesome, beautiful in many ways. The pool / bars / restaurants have everything you need. Then in between it’s like being in a tropical island with tracks and shrubbery to cycle / walk / buggy through, whatever mode of transport that takes you fancy. We mixed it up through the day as we pleased (buggy to brekky, cycle to the pool / beach bar etc) but I’d say it’s reachable by all. Started walking most nights for evening meal and ended up jumping in a passing buggy! The sunset jacuzzi villas are beautiful, about 5 meters and you are out on to (what seemed like) a private beach. Cleaners in more than once a day, it was almost like they knew when we popped out, arrived back and bed the bed was made! Both pools are really calm and in perfect condition, staff great, very attentive with the drinks orders! Activities: The mountain bikes are a great way to get a round, free issue with the villa. My girlfriend used the spa for massage that she said was great and I went on the evening fishing (although i didn’t others did catch a few!). Snorkelling out from the beach bar is awesome, loads of different types of fish and colours coming out from the shallow reefs! We also did sea canoeing and the “funtube” with the guys just next to dhoni bar and both lots of fun! The food was great, we were here 10 days all inclusive so ate at the same place, at the same table lots of times. We thought this may be too much but it really wasn’t, the chefs mix it up and always a good and varying selection from salads, curry’s (fresh naan counter), panini, fruit, desserts etc etc I could go on.. but it’s really hard not to eat too much! Only negative: we wanted to eat at the meera bar one eve, only to break it up the buffet visits a bit really…… We ordered pizzas (…..probably added to the problem was a couple of nights before the buffet served fresh pizzas that were continually being handmade & were delicious). The pizza at the meera bar came and were frozen deep pan type with added toppings - not as expected and very disappointing. I didn’t want to complain to the waitress / chef as no doubt this isn’t their problem but something the resort could learn from? Overall excellent and would recommend to all. Thanks

My stay at Canareef resort was an incredible experience immersed in nature, made even better by the friendly staff. A big shout out to Shizmee and his team for their exceptional service. Special thanks to Priya and Saikumar from the buffet restaurant for their hospitality and delicious meals. The serene environment made it a perfect place for a yoga retreat, allowing me to connect deeply with nature. Can't recommend it enough!

Restaurants are very nice Great food variety Buggies are everywhere for Internal transportation The best DJ ever by Shashy My daughter birthday was on our last day stay and the resort arranged celebration by House keeping, Restaurants & DJ In summary, amazing.

Such a really nice week spent in Canareef Resort. Been lovely holidays, much needed. Amenities and facilities were top notch, enjoyed our sea view room and our little private beach ! All the staff was welcoming and really friendly, thanks to all the barmen and waiters from Dhoni Bar that made our evenings lovely, as the French animator that taught us a lot of dances during the live music. DJ Chashe always played the good music to keep us entertained and we even got to participate to a crabs race once !! Definitely a good week spent here, hope to see y’all again next time 😊

Been to Maldives quite a lot of times, but this time was overall the best ! Stayed there for 12 days, which is more than enough to visit the island, get some rest and enjoy all the facilities. Everything was perfect, the room was spacious and the outdoor bathroom such a plus ! We’ve upgraded our stay to move to a jacuzzi room and we never regretted it. Food and beverage were excellent, and the buffet changed every single meal, couldn’t choose what to eat ! Shout out to all the staff, that made our stay even more pleasant. Reception was so helpful, barmen and waiters always there to make sure we were fine and even our housekeeper that did his best to always make our room fresh and clean. We also enjoyed the night music and entertainment in Dhoni bar which brought us to meet a lot of other people. Definitely going to come back asap

We had an excellent holiday at the Canareef resort staying for 10 days in March 24. The accommodation (Villa 618) was fantastic, very roomy, colourful décor, air con worked well and in a lovely setting. The Canareef team did a lovely job keeping supplies topped up (including the free water), sorting towels and even sweeping the patio and sand outside. We did swim a bit immediately outside our room but preferred to go to the Sunset Beach or the pool. The food was very good. We only used the one main restaurant but there was a huge choice and the menu was different every day. We have never seen so many curries! The resort is spread out but travel is through beautiful scenery. We used the free bikes a lot to get to the restaurant/pool (one direction) and to the bar/snorkelling (other direction). On a few occasions we used the buggy service and that worked brilliantly, we never waited more than a few minutes. Our favourite part was the snorkelling at Sunset Beach. There are an amazing number of small fish in crystal clear waters. It is tidal but you can go out hundreds of yards without being out of your depth. We did see one turtle which was a highlight. All staff were very welcoming, cheerful and worked hard to ensure everything was more than satisfactory, even the men filling in the potholes would give us a friendly wave as we passed on our bicycles. We went on 2 extremely good excursions, the dolphin cruise and the snorkelling trip. We saw hundreds of dolphins, many jumping out of the water and the snorkelling along the reef was both thrilling and crystal clear. The only down side is the long journey and the waiting between flight connections. I think it took us 27 hours to get home! The holiday was well worth the long journey however.
