Aphrodite Sands Resort

Just returned home after a 4 night stay with my husband. We were in a 2 bedroomed apartment over looking the gardens which were nice a d well looked after. We were greeted by Peter on our first night who was super helpful and welcoming. We didn't have a car but enjoyed galavanting onthe local buses! We walked 5 minutes into the square where there are 4 or 5 little restaurants and a little shop. All served lovely food. My only complaint/constructive critiscism is the bed mattress which was rock solid and really hurt my back and the pool area. Nearly half of the sun loungers were broken and a few parasols. It didn't quite match up to the brochure pictures. The pool light came out and was floating around and I actually used the other pool as it looked a bit unsafe. There were also leaves, feathers and insects floating on top of the water, it could of done with been netted a few times during the day. I definitely wouldn't rate the place as a 4 star, more 2 or a 3. But, I think if there was a little bit more attention to detail then it could be a 4. It's a shame really as there is so much potential. Still, it is a nice little place for a few days away and I would return.

The units are so well equipped its like your own villa. The pool was never too busy and always clean. Have already rebooked for next summer as my family said it was their best holiday ever. Previous reviews concerning poolside sunbeds were justified as a good percentage were unusable.

My wife and I stayed for 2 weeks in September 2023. Our overall view was the resort was in general tired and could do with being refreshed. Our room was okay except for the mattress on the bed was done and needed replacing, in our stairwell on the bottom floor an old mattress was stored for the whole time we were staying here, not a very nice sight plus a fire hazard I would guess. The pool area had many broken sun loungers and parasols, so each morning it was very difficult or impossible to find a lounger and parasol to use, speaking of sun loungers piles of broken sun loungers were stored in the walkways out of the pool area, again not a very nice sight. The pools themselves were suffering from poor cleaning with a large build-up of scum along the pool walls at the water level. The information pack in the apartment told you not to use the pools in the evening due to maintenance works being carried out, yet we witnessed on more than one occasion chemicals being thrown into the water in no measured way while the pools were being used by young children and adults, buckets of chemicals were left lying around the pool most of the day that had hazard marking on them. The Shrubbery around the pool walkways were being maintained during the day while the pools were in use, the use of mechanical hedge trimmers was concerning as no working area was blocked off for safety while kids and adults used the same area. The spraying of shrubs with a backpack canister spraying equipment while the pool was open during the day was a real concern as the overspray was landing on the sunbathers including my wife and me, again not a very nice experience. With better attention to detail, this place could be a great place to spend some time. Peter is a great guy who works his socks off to help you enjoy the holiday.

On arrival at Aphrodite Sands we were greeted by Peter who showed us to our accommodation, showed us round, made sure we were connected to Wi-Fi (very important to our teenage son) and provided us with plenty of useful information such as where the nearest supermarket was and recommendations for places to visit. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was incredibly spacious and well stocked with everything we could need. We had 2 balconies, one facing the pool, which was lovely. Having a corner plot meant our balcony was covered which provided some welcome shade when needed and had a lovely breeze. The location of Aphrodite Sands is great. It is a short walk to Mandria village where there are several choices of places to eat but also only 10 mins drive to Paphos harbour and 15/20 mins drive to Coral Bay. We had a fantastic holiday enjoying the accommodation, pools, gym and spa and found Peter and Angeliki the most wonderful hosts with nothing being too much trouble. Can’t wait to return again soon!

We arrived at nearly midnight to be greeted by Peter, he showed us to and around our very large 2 bed apartment. What a brilliant gentleman, full of advice and recommendations, he even sent links to us. The apartment had everything you needed, plus more, WiFi was free, Aircon, fully functioning kitchen, washing machine, airer (and pegs) 2 bathrooms and all immaculately maintained and presented. Remembering this is not a hotel it did have 2 good size pools, a gym and a spa. Situated 10 minutes drive from the airport and you rarely notice the aircraft, Mandria is a brilliant location with a few little eateries / bars that all serve excellent food. Only 15 minutes from paphos it is in the ideal place. 10 out of 10 we WILL be returning!

The service manager is really helpful. The rooms are a bit dated and can do with a coat of paint and some new furniture. As our couch was full of nasty stains. Also you will need a car. As the location is out a good bit.

Such a peaceful place and what can I say about Peter.... he is one of a kind. Angeliki always on hand to help out too. The apartment was exceptional and all the amenities one could envision. Will surely go back soon hopefully xxx

We spend 10 days in Aphrodite Sands Resort Hotel. In two bedroom apartment. This place its perfect for family holidays away from busy and noisy centrum , There is square (5 min of walk), with some restaurants, small shop and tavern perfect for evening meals and entertaining, bigger shop is around 15 min of walk ( between 11am and 12 owners provide transport to and from shop) , beach is around 15 min-20 min of walk . Its a pebble beach. You can find there also beach-bar with local beers and cocktails. I would advise to rend car so you can see bit more ( owners can help with this ) or use local transport . The closes bus stop is around 15 min of walking. Apartments are well equipped and clean but I would not say that there are 4 stars , more like 3 starts as furniture's look bit tired and well used . TBH it didnt really bother us and it didnt make our holiday any less enjoyable . Pool was more than plenty what we needed, big benefit was the fact that there was no raise for booking sunbeds as there was more than plenty for everyone. Peter - person who check us in and look after us - was always responsive to any of our needs , questions, queries. He really made sure that we happy . Overall - its brilliant place for relaxing family holiday . Def recommend it

Stayed here in September 2022 with my wife and decided to take our daughter and granddaughter for a short stay as a treat. The complex is very well maintained and situated in the peaceful village of Mandria, which is less than 10 minutes drive from Paphos airport. The apartments have everything you would want for self catering holiday with a lovely pool set up with gym and spa beneath. The staff are really friendly and go the extra mile to help you, whether it's organising a taxi or arranging your trip to the local supermarket. Can not praise them enough. The village as 4 decent restaurants which provides a good mix of menus. Love this place so much we have booked to back in September. Certainly a place to kick back and do sod all.
