Riad Camilia

This is a truly exquisite Riad , don’t hesitate to stay here. We stayed in the Menara room, it was utterly beautiful. Very roomy on the first floor with a fabulous private terrace which was welcome in the heat. Our praise goes to Sara and Quentin and the whole team. They were so lovely and nothing was ever too much trouble. It truly is an amazing calm, quiet oasis in the middle of the chaos of the medina. You truly cannot hear anything from the outside. The Riad itself was stunningly beautiful with amazing architecture and Moroccan detail , every room was beautiful and the garden roof terrace was very pretty. The plunge pools were lovely too. We had great breakfasts and the most amazing lunch, with the most flavourful vegetables I’ve ever tasted followed by a really tasty tagine and strawberries and cream ! I was in awe of the Riad all of the time we were there. We stayed for 5 nights. I’m still dreaming about it. One tip is to book the airport transfer, it’s brilliant as you are taken to the door. The Riad is down a very dark passageway, it is completely safe but you would never find it alone .

The level of service and attention to detail were truly beyond our expectations from every staff member we encountered throughout our stay. Communication from Sarah and Quentin prior to our arrival was always timely and thorough. Despite multiple changes and my partner falling ill during our stay, never once did they make us feel like an inconvenience. They helped to coordinate every single detail of our brief 3 days in Marrakech. They arranged for drivers to pick us up and drop us off in different cities, porters to escort us to hard to find locations, paired us with a private guide around the media and helped us to secure dinner and spa reservations. Unfortunately, my partner became quite ill at one point and they graciously handled all the cancelation and rebooking details for us. The property itself is truly luxurious, well maintained and quiet. We stayed in the Dar el Bacha suite which was nothing short of dreamy and incredibly spacious . The rooftop breakfasts were something we looked forward to each day and continue to dream about. As foodies, it's worth noting that we enjoyed the food so much at Riad Camilia, Quentin and Sarah arranged for us to meet with their chef for a private cooking lesson. Do yourselves a favour and make sure to try their lemon and olive chicken tajine. It was truly the best we had in all of Morroco. All in all, this family run establishment is truly a hidden gem with the most exquisite surroundings and welcoming of hosts. Please do not hesitate to book, it was one of the most memorable hotels we've every stayed in and we travel often.

Staff is very helpful and very candid. The place is spectacular. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the shower is amazing. All the Riad has great decor and design and all small details are taken care of and you can see it in every corner of the place. When we arrived they made a tour of the property which was very helpful and we just loved it. It is a place that is worth staying. But you need to understand that is very deep inside of the Medina. You need to have an internal gps to remember the way to arrive and to go out. It is very near by the Restaurant Nomad and just 1 block away from the Fondouk Restaurant and Le Farnatchi Spa. Breakfast was good but in other Riads they serve a little more. It is more like petit déjeuner rather than breakfast. The hotel was very very clean.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and booked the Riad Camila after reading the reviews; I can honestly say our hosts were excellent; nothing was too much trouble, The home-cooked meal we had was superb and served on the roof terrace; we booked a guide for half a day so as not to miss the essential parts of the city. The rooms were spotless and, from a design point, spot on and very tasteful. The staff were all very attentive and with good English. We will definitely return to their Camila

Riad Camilia was amazing !!!! Quentin and Sarah provided exceptional hospitality. They were very patient with helping us get around the Medina and with restaurant/ excursion recommendations. The Riad’s chef Amina was really nice, down to earth and professional. We signed up for the cooking class and all of the food was cooked to perfection thanks to her guidance. Sadek tended to all our needs regarding food, especially when we had breakfast on the rooftop! Sharif (the security guard) always made us feel safe. Overall the whole staff is amazing, it felt we were staying in a family home. Thank you for the amazing experience and last but not least the architecture, the suites, and the Riad’s decor is just simply beautiful. We didn’t want to leave !

Stayed at Menara room of Riad Camilia for 2 nights. It was one one of our two best stays in Morocco. Everything was great - location, very very friendly staff, very very beautiful Riad and room. The dinner was absolutely the best of the best!!!

Riad Camilia is set down a tiny dark alley - you would never imagine what lies behind that door! It is a cool, calm, peaceful oasis with a fantastic location in the heart of the Medina. One of the most beautiful and unique places I have stayed in. The building itself is intriguing - a classic Riad with internal courtyards - but the decoration makes it even more special. All the rooms are individually designed with an eye for detail. There are lots of original features and antiques from Morocco as well as further afield. Ours was spacious with a comfy bed and a great shower. The overall effect is relaxed and homely - so it feels like you are staying with friends or family, but with none of the considerations that usually go with it! The rooftop area is charming too - plenty of quiet corners among the cactuses and plants, a great place to have dinner (which we did - and it was delicious) or to just watch the sun go down with a gin and tonic (which we also did!). The service was exceptional - discreet, but personal - and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful - eggs of your choice, juice, yoghurt, fruit, freshly made pancakes and local breads. There was a lifesaver of a map provided too - and that, together with our initial orientation and recommendations from Quentin - was all we needed to navigate our way around for a fantastic 3 days. Smooth and efficient transfer back to the airport too. We loved Marrakech - and Riad Camilia was a big part of that. We have every intention of returning to both! The two of us enjoyed five days at the Riad Camilia in Marrakech. The facility has six rooms and a roof-top area, is beautifully decorated and maintained, and is perfectly located within the Marrakech Medina. The breakfast is excellent in both quality and quantity. The staff are superb. They are well-trained, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. We hope to return.

From the moment you step behind the steel door it was a calming oasis scented with orange blossom. The antiques, bedding, fireplace, flowers and lighting are some of the best I have ever experienced. With just 5 rooms and few guests you truly feel as though you are staying in a private home of your friend or favorite aunt. The food and breakfasts were delicious and our evening tea and afternoon drinks on the roof at sunset were beautiful. The hotel was so accommodating and every need was met. Every restaurant and store suggestion was great. We loved the location and every time you went out at night security walked you to dinner. We never felt unsafe. I will send every friend we have there to stay. I would easily go back again.
