Central Motor Lodge

This is, without doubt, one of the best motels we've ever stayed at. We were in a 1-bedroom unit (#12) for a 5 night stay. It smelled beautiful. Everything was spotless, and everything we needed was in there. Our rooms were serviced every day, and each time we returned it smelled beautiful all over again. The bed was a firm but comfortable king size with a warm duvet. We'd brought winter pjs with us after looking at the weather forecast, but we needn't have done so. The unit is double-glazed and the heat pump very efficient. We were snug and warm. There was a sofa and an easy chair, a table with chairs and a coffee table. All these furnishings were clean and comfortable. There was a safe in the wardrobe. We were surprised and delighted by how quiet the motel was. We slept like logs. I can't recommend this place more highly. One of the owners told me they like to keep a high standard - and they have succeeded in this. Well done, and thank you for having us.

Everything about the room was lovely EXCEPT the bed and bedding. All of the pillows provided were too high for me and I had a sore neck in the morning. The bed slumped to the middle. Oh and the tea selection wasn’t very good.

Friendly & helpful. Really helped to have a simple stovetop on top of microwave to cook with. Especially relieved to have the large grocery store open on & around public holiday vs Matamata which had theirs closed. Very walkable to eateries & bakery. Cute town.

We were not expecting much given this is a motel, but we were pleasantly surprised! The lady on the desk was so friendly and helpful. The room had a separate seating area and the room looked newly renovated. The kitchen was fully stocked and you could cook. The appliances etc looked new.

Room was very clean. Included a small kitchen area with teas and coffee. Property was very clean overall. Manager was curt , but pleasant enough. No A/ C in room

The staff were really supportive, especially since we had to request for an additional night due to the bad weather. They adjusted with what rooms were available for us.

We stay here several times a year when we’re up (from Wellington) visiting family in Morrinsville. As always, this stay was great. Jan and David are excellent hosts. Parking is easy and level, and even though the motel was full most nights we always had a park right outside our room. Hubby and I stayed for four nights in late July in room 12, a one bedroom unit. Very comfortable and spacious and very well appointed. It has a very efficient heatpump which was needed some nights as it was quite cold. My sister lives in Thames, and we picked her up on the Tuesday and she stayed in room 8 for two nights. Her unit was a studio room, but once again very comfortable, well appointed and spacious. We had trouble with the wifi in our room one evening, it simply wouldn’t work whereas the rest of the time it had worked fine and was fast and reliable. David was really helpful, he tried to find the problem and brought in a meter to check the signal strength, which came in and out intermittently. When he couldn’t get it to work after trying several different things, he phoned their internet provider and they created a completely new connection in the list for us to use, and it worked well. Thank you very much David. We will be back to Morrinsville in several months time for another family visit, guess where we’ll be staying!

Three of us shared a one bedroom unit, using the sofa bed for the third person. The unit was immaculate in every aspect, from the pots and pans to the bathroom. Quality drapes kept the rooms dark for sleeping and the small kitchen was a bonus. The motel has a laundry to use for a charge which was a plus for us, and the grounds are well kept. Great location and the owners are to be congratulated for their commitment to high standards.

Had a last minute trip to Morrinsville and called to check if they had a room as I was driving up from Wellington- thankfully they did and were accommodating with checking in about 7:30 pm. Have stayed here many times and every time it has always been clean and comfy with nice hot showers and a welcome place to rest your head after a long drive.
