I am from South Africa and regularly use the Marriott chain of Hotels and currently enjoy Gold Bonvoy Status. Prior to my visit to your resort, I was en-route to Bangkok and had the most amazing stay the JW MARRIOTT Bangkok and also stayed and the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lampur on this trip. However, my stay at your resort left a lot to be desired from what is described as a 5-star resort. I would like to highlight my concerns from arrival at Mauritius. Concerns and dissatisfactions of my stay: 1. I had booked through the hotel for a Le Meridien Hotel transfer from the Airport to the Resort. I was met by a third part at the Marriott desk at the SSR International Airport. I was given a letter from an agency called KLIK MORRIS who misrepresented themselves as my local agents and marketed themselves as my concierge in Mauritius. They also gave a contact named Jameela with a mobile number as my go-to during my stay. At no point did I ever consent to a third-party getting my information and marketing themselves as my tour operator in Mauritius. My bookings were made directly with the Hotel. This is a dubious practice. 2. We had arrived from a long haul flight of over 9 hours travel at the hotel and for that reason, decided on pre-paying my stay so as to streamline my check-in and rooms. I was met by reception staff who dilly-dallied for over 50 minutes trying to do my check-in and kept on passing my documents onto their colleagues and helped other guests. I was eventually given my two room cards and assigned to the furthest away rooms in the resort (202 & 203) I was neither escorted to room nor explained where the rooms were. This for a 5-star resort! And this was despite my request for centrally located rooms. The staff were constantly busy on their cell phones or having other private conversations during my wait! 3. I contacted the operator on “0” since the Concierge phones were never answered. The reason for my calls were to request that the rooms be sprayed with an insecticide to reduce the mosquitoes and other bugs in the room. They never did it! It took over an hour for someone to unlock the inter-leading doors. 4. Housekeeping left lots to be desired. ON the 2nd day of my stay, my rooms were not made up until 5pm of the day and we told by housekeeping the hotel was short of clean towels and amenities. From check-in the showers were dirty with soap-scum/ dirt on the edges and the bathrooms were not cleaned well. Room 202 had a dead fly that was swatted on the flow from day 1 to day 5 and was never cleaned. There were dead cockroaches underneath the beds too. 5. A photo of cracked tiles in the passageway to the rooms was taken and shown to 2 duty managers at the beginning of my stay and on departure was still not repaired. This could have resulted in a fall and injury to not only myself, but other guests too. 6. I was assured via Email prior to my arrival that the hotel is Halaal throughout. This a primary religious requisite for all

I've been to the Hotel le Meridien il de Maurice. It was a really nice Experience. The Suite was like a dream come true, always clean and shaped very well. But the Best part of the Hotel was the effort and the kindness of the Personal working there. Especially Mr.Pasam Yekeswar was very helpful and friendly thanks to him we felt very comfortable. We were really satisfied by the Service. I only can suggest this Hotel for every Honeymooner.
