This is a unique inn. The room decor is nineteen thirties style, but it is tasteful, bright and super clean. The property is very nice and the breakfast, which is continental it's phenomenal!!

A beautiful property with gorgeous gardens and charming rooms. The spacious rooms were outfitted with first class amenities including robes, lap rugs and lovely bath products. The whole experience was a delight.

I stayed here for a couple of nights a while back (off-season) and found my stay to be absolutely wonderful. The grounds were magical and quiet. I loved the privacy in such a serene environment. I thoroughly enjoyed taking a hot bath and relaxing in my room after a gorgeous costal walk and great meal nearby. I wish I could remember her name, but the lovely lady who put out breakfast for the guests was wonderful to chat with and the scones and coffee were fabulous. I would certainly come back to this charming bed and breakfast and have since recommended it to friends and family.

We had a great experience at the Inn—good breakfast, comfortable beds, and a great location. My wife has been having some physical problems, and I emailed the Inn asking where I could rent a wheelchair. They offered to let us use the one they had. That was extremely nice.

Always Delightful!! Wonderful rooms and hosts (Ken & Kate). This time a special treat meeting son Jack and his actor friend Danny. Our first time visiting Mendo Woodlands SP…can’t believe we missed it in the 40+ years we’ve been coming up here. Highlights: yes Luna Trattoria and Patterson’s Pub too. Hooded Merganser and Tufted Puffin sightings at the headlands.

We didn't expect much. Our booking was last minute — all other places in the town were either unavailable or too expensive. Turned out, we couldn't have made a better choice. An exceedingly beautiful place, comfortable, quiet, welcoming. we had a wonderful time.

Had a wonderful time staying here! Lovely room, beautiful grounds, nice people, perfect location, tasty breakfast. Really chill inn cat. Used the cozy wood stove in my room in the water tower every evening after hiking around looking for seals, otters, shorebirds and wildflowers all day (saw many of all 4!). The inn’s location was so convenient I didn’t use my car even once before checkout and just walked to trailheads, beaches, great restaurants and the grocery store. One of the most relaxing vacations I’ve ever taken. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Mendocino!

Mendocino is worth the twisty drive to get there. My wife and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Joshua Grindle house. We stayed in the lower level of the water tower (photo). The room was roomy, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good. The owner Ken was friendly and informative. We recommend it!

Most everything was 5-star except the bathroom temperature. Staff, gardens, breakfast, bedroom were all wonderful. But our room was cold when we arrived and slow to warm because cold air entered the adjoining bath; and the only way to warm it was by leaving the bathroom door open, which cooled the bedroom. We solved the problem by stuffing cushions in the two bathroom windows. But cheap Home Depot pull-down blinds or a space heater might have solved the issue. Tt would have made a huge difference if our room had been heated before we arrived (we had it reserved). It took hours to warm up. Otherwise, all was lovely and we would certainly stay there again.

We stayed 2-nights in the "Master" bedroom - very roomy with 3 large windows and a large bathroom - in the main house. The owners and staff were very welcoming. The breakfast room was charming. Everything was very clean. We ate at Patterson's Pub and Trillium, both a short walk away.

My daughter and I had a great time here. It’s a quaint town with some good food and great hiking! The Inn was comfortable, great location, and had some great offerings for guest. I’d return here when staying in Mendocino.

A charming place: old-fashioned in appearance but with modern conveniences inside. (Except no tv.) Friendly service and a satisfying breakfast, with home-baked delicious scones, banana bread, fresh fruit and more. A 10 minute walk from downtown.

Beautiful property, comfortable rooms, beds, and pillows. Very friendly and accommodating hosts! The breakfast in the morning is yummy (including home made scones!) It’s walking distance from all the best places in town and you can see the ocean. There’s even a friendly cat!
