We stayed in the 2nd floor Watertower room. It was very comfortable. It is interesting to see how the exterior geometry of the building shows up in subtle ways from the inside. The location is just a short walk to get to the main commercial part of town. The staff was very friendly and thoughtful. We would certainly stay here again if our travel plans bring us back to Mendocino.

Highly recommend this B&B! Clean, quiet room, comfortable bed with nice linens, beautifully maintained gardens, generous continetal breakfast, and lovely staff. We felt like we were honored guests in someone's home. We will stay here again on our next trip to beautiful Mendocino.

We loved our stay at Joshua Grindle Inn! It was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful gardens, and walking distance to downtown and the ocean! The room was very comfortable, our hosts warm and friendly, the continental breakfast hearty and delicious! We look forward to staying here again!

We have been to Mendocino many times over the years but this is the first time we’ve stayed here at Joshua Grindle. It could not have been better in any way. The grounds are beautiful, our cottage north was comfy and cozy and the big bed was lovely. Outside of our window are 4 giant centinal trees. We could also see the sunset through these windows. Ken and Kate, the owners were lovely and welcoming and there is nothing we wish were different. Continental breakfast with homemade granola, scones and banana bread along with fruit and yogurt was perfect to start our day. Because Mendo is a small village, we could walk everywhere. We will definitely return. Thanks Ken and Kate for a perfect getaway.

The inn was very accommodating. The scones and homemade granola made for an excellent breakfast. We loved the nightly fire log burning in the fireplace in our room. The inn keepers were very helpful with the surrounding area. Must go to glass beach!

The Inn is a great place to stay in Mendocino. Very reasonable in price, extremely comfortable, personal (the owners live right there) and convenient. We have been there a number of times for the Mendocino Film Festival and every year the owners have upgraded it so it is even nicer. Breakfast is provided--wonderful scones and banana bread.

Went for my wife’s birthday for a few days. Everything was wonderful, especially meeting with the owner who gave us great ideas of places to go. We loved the breakfast, perfect way to start our day! We look forward to returning one day in the future!

Unfortunately, we had to cancel. But the booking, help from the front desk in advising us was excellent. Very pleasant and helpful. Planning to re-book soon . Would recommend staying here just on what we have heard from friends and the excellent front desk experience.

Wonderfully restored, magically equipped. A great sleep on a comfortable bed. We slept in the bottom floor of the water tower. We loved all the original woodwork and the antiques in the parlor. Anne made our morning delightful and the scones were so yummy too! Don’t hesitate.

Great accommodations, owners were very helpful, beautiful town and surrounding area. Can’t be beat! Go to glass beach, Patterson’s pub, Spring ranch, botanical gardens, and enjoy your fireplace every night. Granola and scones and fruit for breakfast every day!

Joshua Grindle Inn is a lovely place to stay in Mendocino. Situated in a quiet location within walking distance of the shops and restaurants it has an interesting history and though old in age has been well-maintained. Rooms are fresh and clean, well lit and bathrooms modern with fluffy towels and showers that work well. Each room is different and tastefully decorated. You can choose the room you want when you reserve. We stayed in the Library room which has a big bookshelf filled with books, a fireplace, a comfortable bed and two comfortable chairs to sit in. We especially appreciated the power strips next to both sides of the bed giving us plenty of outlets to charge our devices, something not always available in older homes. Other special touches include wine glasses and opener in the room, a log ready to go in the fireplace and an EV charger on the property for electric vehicles. The buffet breakfast had a delicious assortment to choose from including homemade, warm scones. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the porch or in the parlor. Ken and Kate, the owners, are warm and welcoming and attend to guests' every need. We highly recommend staying here.

Our room (nautical) was very clean & quiet. Nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Staff & owners were very personable & helpful. The morning breakfast was a wonderful start to the day without having to go out & scout out food! The inn was a great location for strolling all over Mendocino. My daughter & I had a lovely get away. We highly recommend the inn & I will be back with my husband next time.

It is hard to find a truly traditional B & B experience these days, but Joshua Grindle Inn delivered. The welcoming check in and the friendly staff throughout our stay set a delightful tone. Our room, The Library, was spacious and well appointed with a super comfortable bed, upholstered chairs and power strips on each nightstand. There was plenty of hot water, fluffy towels and full sized quality toiletries. The working fireplace was a lovely perk. Robes were a plus. The breakfast was Continental style but with fresh baked scones and good coffee, fresh fruit, granola, hard boiled eggs, etc. The gardens are well maintained and lush. Wifi was excellent. Self serve coffee and tea were always available in the parlor. We will return.

The Joshua Grindel Inn was the perfect place for us to stay in Mendocino. We were there for two nights, and could not have been more comfortable and happy with the entire experience. Kate and Ken, the owners, bent over backwards to accommodate our every request. The bed was so very comfortable, and we loved the bathtub! The breakfast was ample, and the scones were incredible! I loved the little touches like having luggage racks and bathrobes in the room. The woodstove fireplace kept us cozy with a great ambience each evening. The location to downtown coffee and eating was perfect. We would come back in a heartbeat multiple times!
