Novotel Bordeaux Merignac Reviews

The hotel environment is very good, one-story building. There is a bar and a swimming pool. It is only 2km away from the airport. There is a direct light rail service, which is very convenient. The surrounding environment is also good.

The hotel is in a good location, 2 stops from Bordeaux Airport, but very quiet. There is a parking lot, a swimming pool in the hotel garden, and a chain steak restaurant on the first floor. It's great. The bedding is a little old, but everything else is good.

Wonderful stay …very comfortable. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues that the room attendants shouldn’t have missed but that didn’t detract from the great stay

Really nice hotel with fantastic facilities. Great base to explore the centre of Bordeaux. Team stop right outside the hotel. 2 stops one way to the airport and then around 20 minutes the other way straight into the centre of Bordeaux. Pool really nice and lots of restaurants within walking distance as well as one on site.

Staff were nice. Room was basic. No coffee in room was disappointing. Breakfast was very poorly organised and overly full. No food left, no plates, dirty tables. Pool was overtaken by a large group of loud ball punching and bomb diving twenty yr olds, leaving familes and singles not being able to utilise the pool comfortably. Dinner was expensive and very busy.

Money missing from my room. Hotel management asked if I wanted room cleaned, I didn't need. Room was cleaned, Management did not know why it was cleaned. Do not disturb sign did not work. I will never return.

Excellent hotel at a good price. Breakfast service and selection excellent, dinner also very good.

We were surprised to see all the changes at the Novotel. They have massively redecorated and it looks very nice. However, check in is sketchy...someone with a laptop computer and a mobile phone who isn't always at the desk. The bar didn't turn the lights on until 6:00 pm. They had trouble finding the available room configuration we booked. The restaurant is good. Breakfast was adequate but not great. What French breakfast doesn't have several choices of cheese! They have also stopped having a shuttle to the airport and the taxi we booked through the hotel the night before arrived quite late. In the end we shared it with another couple because theirs didn't arrive. The taxi charged €30 for about a two mile trip to the airport. We will use this hotel again because it is close to the airport and it's nice to have a good restaurant right on site, but they have a few problems they should solve. Since they are so close to the airport and get a lot of business from people who need to go to the airport, they really should provide a shuttle.

Convenient and modern hotel with parking. Table tennis hammocks and other outdoor games a hit with the kids. Would have got 5 stars if restaurant offered more vegetarian choice and restaurant staff weren’t grumpy!

Property needs significant upgrade. Room was clean , staff helpful but it is a tired building

Not the best Novotel we've stayed. Room was a bit disappointing in terms of cleaness and not much difference from budgets hotels that we stayed on. Linens were smelly with a very stained carpet. Bathroom was also not very well cleaned. Only one corridor and one floor so pretty much everyone has to walk through the same way. Breakfast was good but bit expensive and the restaurant looked good with a nice outdoor area.

LA POULE DANS SON ENCLOS DU JARDIN DE L'HÔTEL N'AVAIT NI EAU NI NOURRITURE. Lits aux sommiers qui grincent. Lates cassées canapé-lit. Coffre-fort non-fonctionnel. Douche avant entrée piscine non-fonctionnelle. Juste 2 "frites" complètement abîmées pour jouer dans la piscine. Horaires trop courts pour prendre le petit déjeuner pendant les vacances (9h30...😒) Pas de trousse de secours à l'accueil (blessure enfant nous avons besoin des premières nécessités desinfectant et pansements). Lampe à côté de la bibliothèque du 2ème étage non-fonctionnelle.
