This Travelodge is fine. The carpets and furnishings look a bit worn, but can't complain at this price. The bed is very comfortable. One thing to note is that it's not possible to open the windows (I think that's done to prevent people smoking in the rooms), so it does get a bit stuffy. Also I didn't seem to be able to control the heating - every time I turned the temperature down a couple of degrees, it turned itself back up a couple of hours later. I paid for the "standard room plus" on the basis that it's on the top floor and so should be quieter. In fact there are only three floors anyway - but apparently the "plus" rooms are all looking out onto the car park, so at least there's no street noise. There's little or no soundproofing within the hotel itself, so I heard everything that happened in the corridor - but as it turned out there wasn't any noise in the night, so that didn't disturb my sleep.
