We stayed at Foxes for a relatives birthday party. A Country House atmosphere , with lovely staff, immaculate rooms and great value. Thank you all for making the Birthday and our stay so special. A great place to book for a family occasion,. With a large car park at the back and the beach in the front made for a relaxing break.

A warm & friendly hotel. A unique & special place. We've stayed here several times ( our little dog included ) & we will definitely be back. The rooms are spacious & very clean & comfortable. The breakfast is substantial & presented with a smile.

Four of us had lunch and the food and service were excellent. Staff have a pride in their work and food presentation is delightful. Very good value and a friendly relaxed place. The property is well furnished and cared for. Very good parking facilities also.

We had been recommended Foxes by relatives in Wolverhampton - if you’re in Minehead you must try Foxes! Well they were so right, from the time we arrived at reception the welcome was warm and professional. William, one of the second year students, showed us to the bar area and took our pre-dinner drinks order. Which he then delivered to the table, telling us the importance of delivering the drinks to ladies first. Hollie was our waitress, also a second year student, she showed us to our table and took our order. Very professional. The food came and was superbly plated up and it was indeed delicious. Perfectly cooked. Always in the background were the absolutely fabulous staff, encouraging and supporting the students with warm words and delightful smiles. I can’t speak too highly of the restaurant and the fantastic job being done to provide the students with routes to independent living and future jobs in hotel and hospitality. Keep up the great work and we will be back next time we’re down your way

I approached a few venues in Minehead for a reunion dinner for 20 people. I have never actually been to Foxes but decided to give it a try. From the first approach and their obvious enthusiasm I made the booking. Location on the Sea front close to the railway station and bus stops was ideal for our activities over the weekend. I live in the town so cannot review the rooms and others stayed within a few minutes walk. A car park at the rear with ramps to the entrance is helpful. Starting with Mark in the kitchen and his students, the menu he provided was attractive. I only heard compliments about the quality of the food. His students excelled with the presentation. Within the dining room the service was a joy. The care and attention to place the dishes in front of us, the waiting staff attention to the guests needs again excelled. They clearly enjoyed us being there and could set an example to any employer of how things can be done. 18 very happy people left a bit late that night, some stayed. Please consider this venue and I'm sure you will enjoy the experience.

Another lovely Mother/Daughter visit to this special hotel. This time we stayed in Blue Anchor room with stunning sea views. The new decor was modern and welcoming. Lovely breakfast and a delicious ploughmans for early evening meal. As always the students and staff were so attentive and helpful. Look forward to our next stay.

Not the first time we have stayed at Foxes and we weren’t disappointed The hotel it’s location and the food are all excellent but what is outstanding is the service politeness and friendliness of the staff There are many companies out there who could learn from these amazing students just what customer care is all about

This is an entirely wonderful place. There's no question of 'making allowances' as one might perhaps expect. Rather, we couldn't help being anything other than impressed. This measures up very well against any 'hotel yardstick' regardless of it being a training establishment for students with intellectual disabilities. First up, the whole place is cleaned to within an inch of its life; spotless bathrooms, flawless carpets - you could confidently eat your dinner off any surface. Our dinners actually arrived in the airy, light dining/breakfast room and were prepared, cooked and served by the students, some a bit nervous but all doing as good a job as we have had anywhere. The food itself was great; again as good as we have had anywhere and better than most. Our rooms (all the rooms, from what we could see) were HUGE - way bigger than hotel rooms usually are and really nicely decorated, everything working perfectly. Cleaned to perfection more promptly and meticulously than any other hotel I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in a fair few, the world over). The hotel is located at what I think of as the 'sweet spot' on the waterfront at Minehead. Go out of the front door (crossing the perfectly maniucured lawn) and turn right and you have the tourist attractions of Minehead, including the West Somerset Steam Railway 'the longest heritage line in England'. Turn left, though, and it's like stepping back in time to the non-tourist old town with seventeenth and eighteen century cottages and the original old harbour and associated pub. Forget the intellectual disability training aspect of the place. It's by the by, really. Instead just think of it as the best hotel in Minehead with the training aspect as a delightful add-on feature.

Excellent with a "but". The Tutors are exceptional and enablers, the escort on the public bus, not Hotel, who I did not know but his empathy and listening. I can't fault their training programme. I rang up to book, spoke to A, who just started, wanted blue Anchor Room for 3 nights, but book for 2 option for 3rd. The General Assistant had only just started, would leave message.....she did her best. Had email with price. Rang requesting another day spoke to a Tutor, will have a word with Billy. Next, my confirmation on Saturday was cancelled, rang them,....told verbally moved to a family room, no email or confirmation of costs. Shocked wondering what was happening. The room was nice, heater did not work and it was very cold, toilet had problems did not flush, and blind...the maintenance man was excellent. We did not report blind, we sorted. We went to pay, bill was higher than expected because 'family room' 4 beds, I.e. 4 breakfasts etc....only 2 of us....we could not eat 4 breakfasts! Room rate higher, not told this, verbally or email. I also felt it was wrong, lady A, had to go to the Manager's office behind Reception to and fro, he may or may not, have been eating, but courtesy and training Hotel...he should come out not leave it to new recruit. Also please remove the Managers Office...make open and welcoming, Staff Room/ Office away from Reception. Just make all staff feel valued.....and thank you for such a wonderful Hotel despite the blips.
