The Waters of Minocqua Reviews

Our family of four had a nice quick February overnight stay at the Waters. While the indoor water park was fun (that indoor/outdoor hot tub!), the rooms and property are really showing their age. The beds were just okay, definitely not what one would expect at, say, a Hilton or even a Fairfield Inn. The carpet in our room had two almost completely threadbare, dark ‘worn’ marks in it which just felt kind of gross. The blow dryer in our room didn’t work (got a replacement that was still in the box from the front desk to use in a pinch), nor did either port for charging phones/electronics in the alarm clock work. There seemed to be more than a few out of order games (and prize options) in the arcade, and the towels in the water park were tiny and very scratchy. The coffee cups in the morning were tiny 8 oz white styrofoam. Still, the staff was nice and it was fine for one night. I hope plans are underway for some remodeling and updates, because this place is a gem with great potential. I imagine the pandemic set that (and the finances) back a bit. Still we’re glad we went, but will look for something with less of a budget motel feel next time or wait until updates are made to return.

Room needs updating! Wayyyyy too noisy!! Sounds like there were elephants abov us till midnight! We will never come stay here again.

Walls are not insulated, so all I hear all night long we’re kids stomping around upstairs during sleeping hours. Found a babies milk bottle in between the couch cushions filled with moldy milk. Refrigerator door wouldn’t swing open due to the fridge being sunk into the carpet, tv was super glitchy and took at least 15 seconds to simply change each channel. Breakfast only had carbohydrates, zero protein. Pretty upsetting for the price tag.

We had a blast in the water park- our three year old played and swam for five hours straight! Beds were fine (comfy but not excellent). The free breakfast was great and I was shocked how good the food was that we got from the snack bar. Very fun stay!

Great place! Great stay! Love the new layout/ remodel!!! A couple issues in room 304 that need attention but great overall! Sharp screw sticking out of headboard with a note on it. A potential liability. Shelf under the freezer had mold or mildew. None of that a game changer for us. Otherwise the room was very clean, very comfortable, and convenient in all ways. Such comfortable mattresses too.

Have stayed here many times previously. The staff were all great at check in and throughout our dealings with them. The room and public areas were very clean. My only complaint was the broken clock in my room…which wasn’t even important enough for a trip to the front desk…

The rooms and pool are were nice but very out-dated. The mattresses were sinking in, the tv was tiny, and the in room amenities were old and had seen a lot of use. The pool was perfect for my 8 year old, but just hadn’t seen any updating in a while. The only thing that was frustrating was the pool snack bar was closed due to staffing issues. The hotel restaurant “pub” also didn’t have our adult beverage or bacon, since they had run out.

Way too loud and easy to hear everything. None of the employees seemed happy to even be there or help except for a couple of them, were really awesome.

Property was exceptionally clean. Room was large and comfortable beds! Nice continental breakfast.

Friendly front desk staff; beautiful spacious well kept facility, great for our large family gathering; comfy room and balcony. Definitely recommend.

The hotel was clean and what staff they did have was very nice...the fact that some things were missing in our room was inconvenient and due to the lack of staff, not all of the water park attractions were always available,

Our stay was great as always!! The kids enjoyed the water park.

Spacious and unique property but still very welcoming and cozy on a cold weekend!
