Grandview B&B Mount Dora

From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, the service at the Grandview Bed and Breakfast was amazing. Gwendolyn and Dennis, our hosts, were warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was wonderful.The accommodations were tastefully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. We stayed in the Windmill suite and loved the history behind the room, as well as the space and comfort. And breakfast was sumptuous each day. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

This is my husband and myself Second time staying at Grandview bed& breakfast and we look forward to many more stays. Dennis and Gwendolyn have outstanding customer service. They welcome you into there home like your family. There place is very clean and there breakfast are outstanding. It's a excellent location to walk into town. Christmas time is beautiful time to go if your thinking about visiting Mt Dora. I Recommend the boat tour, it's very nice 2 hour tour.

We had the good fortune to stay at The Grandview B&B this past weekend. What a lovely experience. From the moment we drove up, being greeted by Gwendolyn and Dennis, to the time we left, the whole weekend was a joy. The home is charming, the food is delightful and fresh, the location is perfect, the town is so much fun. We were lucky to have chosen Christmas-season kickoff weekend. We highly recommend.

8/11/23: We saw this inviting property on a day trip to Mt Dora prior to Covid. It’s on a large fenced corner lot with huge trees, nice landscaping, large verandah and big in ground pool with paver deck. We knew we’d need to come back to stay a few days, but then Covid messed up a lot of our plans. Finally we were able to plan for a mid week getaway from Tampa. When we arrived Gwendolyn gave us a tour of the building, and showed us how to work the TV, where to get more bottled cold water, and tips for use of the keys, The room we reserved was just as sweet as the picture on their website. I loved the pretty little bathroom with its fluffy Turkish towels and frosted window providing great light for applying makeup. She asked if we’d like a beer or glass of wine. We explained that we’d probably prefer some wine later after dinner. She told us we’d have a carafe in the little frig near our room. She left 2 lovely wine glasses as well. Then she gave us a map of the area with restaurants, shops and attractions clearly marked, as well as comments about popular favorites. Despite unusually hot and humid days, even for Florida, the entire home was wonderfully cool. In spite of that, the large L shaped verandah with ceiling fans, cushioned rockers and more beckoned us to sit and relax awhile in between seeing sights. We kept busy enough that we didn’t get to use the pool, but towels and sunscreen are supplied as well. In the evening the lighting on the verandah and around the pool deck creates a calm and peaceful mood. By the next day we were eager to tell Gwendolyn how valuable her tips had been and had a few more questions. Not only did she stop what she was doing to listen to our comments and answer questions, but she spent quite some time sharing local stories and getting to know us. Grandview is a beautiful and well cared for property in Mt Dora’s historic district. Even in mid summer, finding parking in the business district can be challenging. If you can walk a half dozen blocks or so, its location is pretty ideal. Park just once and walk to just about anything on the map. Gwendolyn and Dennis have been running the Grandview B&B for 8 years and their level of hospitality is outstanding. The building has truly lovely furnishings and decor that made it easy to be comfortable. Coffee/tea are served each morning. After inquiring about any food allergies or aversions terrific farm to table breakfasts we had included fruit, eggs, bacon, quiche, pancakes, honey, French toast, sausage link, home fries and more. I usually eat very light in the morning but it looked, smelled and tasted SO good! I left the table stuffed with flavorful goodness. From the time we crossed the threshold until we departed, we were treated like long time friends. It takes very special people to create that kind of feeling but the owners of Grandview definitely do just that!

I came here for a little personal getaway and, indeed, found the rest and relaxation I was looking for. First thing that impressed me was how this lovely, historic house was beautifully preserved/restored and kept immaculately clean. Seriously, not even a spec of dust under the furniture or on the air vents (I'm a bit of a hygiene freak so I take notice of such things). Second, was the level of service I received which was far above anything I’ve experienced in quite some time. This is all thanks to the wonderful Gwen who is the very embodiment of hospitality. So considerate, affable, super accommodating, and a fantastic cook and baker. What also impressed me was that this is the first property I stayed at in a couple years that offers daily room cleaning/refreshment. I didn't take advantage of this for myself but appreciated the full-service experience that was being provided. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be visiting again!

We have an annual trip with six couples. This June was our 17th get together and our weekend at Grandview was the best yet. Hosts Gwen and Dennis are perfection personified. Gracious, watchful, expert B&B owners. The house is extremely clean, tidy and welcoming. All of the best of Mt. Dora is a short, lovely tree lined walk away. Breakfast is a delight, creative, delicious. The price is a deal - a true value. Grandview is a gem. Thanks to our hosts, from The Baad (yes, Baad) Girls.

From the moment we met Gwendolyn and Dennis, we knew we made the right choice to come to Grandview. They do everything right. Told us the history of the home, made suggestions on where to go, parks, nature walks and dining ideas. This town is so great. Family oriented. You won't find the Gap, or CVS or any other large corporate store (only Publix). So you are supporting families. Very safe and quaint. Breakfast everyday was delicious - Mimosa, fruit, farm fresh eggs....divine. Go here, you will not be disappointed. We think we will go up with our family as a surprise gift to them. Can't wait!

We had the best girls trip for my 50th birthday! The Grandview Bed and Breakfast is absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in the door Dennis and Gwendolyn took care of everything. The rooms are beautiful. The pool and porches are peaceful and relaxing. The house in within walking distance from bars, restaurants, shops, and the gorgeous lake! Gwendolyn and Dennis put the “Breakfast” in Bed and Breakfast! From the fresh picked peaches and blackberries to the amazing French toast! We were even spoiled with delicious mimosas! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and WILL be back!

Grandview B&B was an absolute delight! My girlfriends and I had the best girls weekend away in this bed and breakfast! The beds were comfortable, the rooms were lovely, sitting poolside at night was just magical. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and so delightful! I loved learning a little about the fascinating history of the house and the little town of Mount Dora was wonderful, the perfect diversion I needed! I cannot wait to find any excuse to go back soon!
