The Royal Blue a Luxury Beach Resort

We fell in love with the Royal Blue in the summer and returned for a 5 night break in October- and so glad we did. From the moment you arrive you are looked after by the wonderful staff who really are the making of the hotel. Check in is seamless and so calm after traveling. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the surroundings immaculate and so clean, everywhere smells fresh, and all the staff smile as they walk past. We had a room with a private pool this time which was gorgeous, fresh pool towels arrived daily along with other treats of wine and fresh fruit during our stay. Breakfast is wonderful- we love that only a small amount of each dish is out and is replaced often and seamlessly. Absolutely everything you could wish for and again the wonderful staff are around. Initially the drink and food prices look on the high side but in reality the quality and freshness is exceptional and worth the price. It’s easy to get the local bus into Rethymno for some shopping and lovely places to eat and drink. We are already booking for next year and cannot wait to return.

This hotel has definitely deserved five stars! Not only because of the wonderful and interesting design and spotlessly clean rooms, the delicious and wide-variety buffet, the combination of a splendid beach and pools, … but most importantly because of its five star staff, who were without exception outstandingly friendly and sincere, starting from the Reception over the Bell Boys, the cleaning ladies and their superb manageress, the restaurant staff, the barmen, all the way through to the beach staff. In all our years of travelling we have never experienced a hotel where any type of issue raised by the guest was addressed with such level of speed and efficiency. Also the atmosphere was perfect for us (parents & 14 year-old daughter), with just the right level of peace, tranquillity and style, while but not being too restrictive and leaving room for the “holiday freedom feeling”! This was our first visit to the Royal Blue but definitely not our last!!

Second stay here and just so relaxing. Staff are amazing and it’s the personal touches that make this a standout resort. Spa is excellent, facial with Nancy exceptional and noticeable difference highly recommend. Looking forward to returning

For the first time we booked a package holiday with Tui, half board. Unbelievable value for money. Flights on Titan airlines, which were wonderful. Felt very safe and the captain kept us informed. Take your own, overpriced on board! Transfer to the hotel took 90 mins in a comfortable clean coach. The driver was good and drove well. The return transfer was longer 2 hours 20 mins stopped at more hotels. Hotel - The Royal Blue is spotless. We were in a sea facing room. Easy to get around the hotel. Facilities are very good. Every single staff member is fabulous. From reception, room, pool, bars to restaurants I can’t fault them. They made our holiday!! Fresh towels every day at the pool and in the room. Toiletries are good. Sunsets and views are awesome. The breakfasts had everything from comb honey, fresh fruits, yoghurts, breads and hot food. From filtered coffees to lattes. Dinner was fantastic, sitting watching the sunset sipping a glass of local wine. Prawns, salads, pastas, local dishes to international cruisine. Bars offered 30% off at happy hour well worth going to both bars and having a signature cocktail. Taco margaritas at the Thea bar was fabulous! Tours book early the fill up, we missed out! We didn’t want to hired a car and drive around, we wanted to relax no stress! We walked to the local supermarket which is close. We caught the local bus to Rethymno, the one day (€2.70 one way) purchase tickets before at the hotel. Well worth it. Check the bus times we missed one by seconds and then waited an hour! We walked to Panormos and got a taxi back (€8). Local people are very friendly and willing to help. A lady called a taxi for us! Lovely restaurants in the area.

This was our 2nd visit. This place is wonderful. Pristine pools and beach, spotless rooms, a rejuvenating spa, and excellent dining. However the best part is the staff: very friendly, professional, and responsive. There are several pools to choose from including one that's kids-free. Two pubs at both ends of the beach with lots of beds and cabanas to lounge on. One of the highlights of the resort is the spa. The masseuses are the best we've had. There is a variety of treatments you can get, so if you're there for a week or more, take the 3+1 offer. The breakfast and dinner buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and really good desserts. We're looking forward to our 3rd visit.

The resort I very well designed and the rooms too. We really like the bathrooms. Nice and spacious. Staff was really really helpful and nice. Food was good too. They always answered our requests. A real calm place to relax. The price value was also good. Super Plus Point: BREAKFAST till 11. That's always nice on vacations. The only major thing that we missed was a heated pool. Since it is May, the water was still cold and that would have been nice.

When I go to Crete, I always stay here. Centrally located and on beach. Great place and had a beautiful view view of ocean from my balcony Great food The service exceptional. It’s my 3rd time and I will go back again The people of Crete are warm and traditional which I value greatly.

We were there for 1 week, really beautiful resort with nice rooms and amazing staff. Everybody was extremely friendly and helped with whatever we needed. The Main restaurant was nice with a parge selection of food in the typical Buffet style. We would recommend this resort for sure, judt be aware that you need a car if you want to explore the island, it is approximatly 3km away from the next village and 1 hour from the next city.

We enjoyed spending 10 nights at the resort with our extended family. My wife and I had a deluxe ocean view suite with a lovely balcony with a glorious sea view. The staff were all delightful. The swimming pools were spotlessly clean with plenty of comfortable sun beds.
