I stayed with my family twice in January 2022, after the New Year and in late January. Both rooms were on the 7th floor. I was satisfied with the quantity and taste. The catering staff was moving very quickly and it felt good. After dinner, there was a picture-story show by the proprietress. It was about 15 minutes, but seeing the proprietress's heartfelt picture-story show made me feel very nostalgic. There was also an explanation of Shima Onsen. When my son saw the picture-story show for the first time, he became a fan of the proprietress. When you return to your room after dinner, the futons are spread out and you can sleep right away. My bed is always my home, so the futon in the Japanese-style room is somewhat fresh. The open-air bath was open to men and women at different times, but it was spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even after 5:00 in the morning, I went to the open-air bath in the dark and woke up perfectly. Breakfast was also very good. Check-out is at 11:00, so buy souvenirs at the shop before that. If you pay by credit card, it will be smoother if you ask them to charge the room before checking out. When I left the entrance, the staff took out my shoes, everyone greeted me in a loud voice, and I was able to leave comfortably. On the way back, when I took a family photo in front of the entrance, the staff came immediately and took it for me. Shima Onsen wasn't a big tourist spot, but it was a very good place to go to the hot springs with your family.
