Pros : Close to JR Kyoto station, just about 10 mins walk. Hotel looks quite new & very clean Rooms are spacious enough (considering Japan’s standard) Staff are generally friendly and always prompt to offer help. Very extensive breakfast buffet spread, literally one of the best we had before. Definitely worth booking a room package including breakfast. The only downside, the hotel tends to be a little overcrowded and bustling during our stay. It’s great for families but if you are looking for quiet or private getaway, then you may want to consider elsewhere.

The hotel is located in Kaohsiung, the western part of Kyoto City. The transportation is very convenient. You can take the municipal bus No. 8 directly to Kaohsiung (terminal) in the city. Attention! After getting off the bus, you can call the hotel. The boss will drive you to the hotel. If you walk to the hotel, there is a way down the mountain. It is not easy to walk with large luggage. Dinner is usually booked in the hotel, because there are no restaurants around, there will be no tourists around 4:30. The hotel is very quiet around, and I personally think that you can experience authentic Japanese cuisine, which is delicious and not too expensive. The rooms are pure Japanese style, spacious and comfortable. There is a hot spring on the second floor. You can take a bath in the morning and evening, because the hotel does not have a few rooms, and it is very quiet. This is my favorite. When I checked in, the boss gave a guide map of the surrounding attractions, which was of great help to me. The surrounding attractions, Jingoji Temple, are within easy reach. Behind the hotel is the mountain road leading to Jingoji Temple. The fare is 600 yen. Nishikyo Temple is 5 minutes away. The fare is 500 yen. Takayama Temple is about 15 minutes away. Room is bigger than most hotels in Japan Has a small kitchen stove that we used to cook a family dinner on the last day since the supermarket was just right across the road. Must mention the service staff was super helpful and accommodating. If I’m visiting Kyoto again will definitely stay here again!
