I had written a review but it was not posted by Tripadvisor as I was probably colourful language. I haale a bad experience last Month. My honest assessment is this place is a sleeping giant. It had the wrong owner and wrong staff. The staff wear anything they want there is no dress code no class. I’m old enough to remember when The Partridges owned this place it was slick and span and a destination venue. Tanya when she had it it was awesome too. Now they have ruined the place the bar was lovely then they decide to add an outdoor canopy covering the whole court yard. So if you want a nightclub vibe dark this is the place. The food is hit and miss. I had fish and chips and it was nice my partner had lamb which was full of fat. Sunday roast was chewy and way overpriced. My friends and I were here for New Year’s Eve and it was a fantastic magical evening. I was hoping they built on this but nothing but downhill. Sometimes it is so quiet you don’t want to eat as there is no life. Anybody going please go and see for selves. The staff are very friendly but really need direction. I have heard many bad reviews but I feel you need it taste it yourself, I live local and wanted this place to thrive when it first opened but now I wish it remained shut. They want to do shisha - please consider the environment. Don’t further ruin Northamptons Jewel.

What an awful experience. My company booked me 2 nights here and I would say it was awful. The food was cold but over cooked. The chicken was definitely off, it smelt wrong forget taste. I had two big heavies cleaning my room, it was like 2 bouncers! I won’t be going back and wish I had read the reviews. My company has learnt that the kitchen is 3* (for a new place recently opened that’s atrocious) and I would say to anyone avoid. The service was poor and they think a free drink puts everything right! It does not. I’m not going to call out names but the lady serving the place you need to pipe down. The gentleman bringing the food out be nice if you would wash your hands. 2 days wasted and my company assured me that they won’t book me in here again.

We had a beautifully presented and tasty Sunday lunch here today. Staff attentive and a very relaxed atmosphere. We were very impressed with the all round experience. Subsequently we have booked to stay overnight and to take full advantage of the spa facilities

The French Partridge is a fabulous place for a simple but high quality spa day. The massages were wonderful and the generous lunch was the perfect end to a lovely spa day experience. It’s a beautiful house and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely return.

An historic property which has undergone a disappointingly cheap refurbishment. That said, the place is absolutely spotless throughout & staff were incredibly friendly & kind. Evening food in the bar was rather average. Breakfast was fine, hot food cooked to order. The main thing to note is this: This is not a boutique hotel. The photos don’t show how plastic/fake the bedroom furniture is, or how cheap the bathroom fixtures are. If management had actually spent on linens, furnishings, blackout blinds & soundproofing it could almost be boutique, but as it stands its exterior far outclasses its interior.

Having had a meal here a few times and speaking to the various staff, the place has no ID. The food is excellent, pricey but is very nice. Drinks are served great (by the gentleman) but the girls they are very tight in measures. If you fancy a drink speak or wait till the gentleman can serve you. The bar is a mixture of lounge and cafe. Depends on which side of the bar you are sat on, could be cosy or you could be on the runway to the toilets. The main restaurant is cold and brown, brown floor brown chairs and brown table. I suppose you have to give it a try and see if it floats your boat. The only reason I returned is the company pays for the rooms and it is nice to be able to park your car and not look for a meter. 3/10 needs work, needs new staff who are not in your face and not anonymously missing either. Shambles shambles and more shambles. I decided to give this place a 2nd visit after a really bad experience in September. The food was cold and uncooked the service is terrible, the worst service I have ever had. Is this McDonald’s in Horton? 1 decent waitress and 1 waiter who thinks he’s funny but no one can understand him. The service is very poor, there is no one to ask for drinks or condiments. The bottle of wine given free was really bad. To the waiter who told me this was good wine (it maybe be in China) but not here! I will not be returning along with a lot of locals who have the same experience. This use to be an institute but now the owners have ruined this place. The court yard looks like a shanty town, Northampton Council why have you allowed this! I will be writing to the council and this place needs a complete detox, not just the tables but the owner too.
