Oaxaca is a truly magical place! The Hotel Siglo XVII is located in the heart of the city, yet it provides a quiet refuge from the bustling streets. The hotel's old-world charm and beautiful courtyard are absolutely stunning, and the rooftop pool is a heavenly spot to relax and unwind. You'll be happy to know that there is an elevator available! However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional staff who work there. They are incredibly kind, caring, and always willing to help. In fact, I met a couple who were so impressed with the staff and the beauty of the hotel that they switched hotels after coming to the Hotel Siglo XVII for lunch!

A pretty boutique hotel, perfectly located within walking distance of all the fine dining restaurants and museums we visited during our stay. The quiet rooms line a tree-covered courtyard that stays cool during the day. I recommend an upgrade to the junior suite. Adriana and her courteous staff were always helpful. (Adriana helped us with a problem with a tour that we didn't book thru her.) We loved Oaxaca.

We were happy with our stay here. The internal garden is lovely and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It has a terrific location, you can walk everywhere in the downtown. The lobby is open 24 hours a day.

We found a quiet place here with a super idyllic patio, where you can read and relax. There is a nice romantic restaurant in Mexican style with lots of things to dicover. A conciderate hand is behind all these decorations including plants and furniture. When coming from the Zoccalo or any other noisy place we found peace here. The rooms are simple, clean and spacious, this is my criterium. And the staff were more than you could expect. The owner, Adrana, let us stay during the day, because ou flight was 9 pm, not 9 am, as we thought. So happy to have picked the Siglo.

Reading most reviews I have to agree. Rooms are really out dated and didn’t feel clean. Pool area is not great and we changed from another hotel to this for the pool, which we used once as it’s no atmosphere and it’s tiny. It’s great location and the front of house staff are fabulous but if you want a nice hotel probably best not to stay here.

We booked the 2 rooms suite. When we arrived one of the 2 rooms did not have AC. We changed rooms. The second room had a problem with the bathroom fan which sounded like an airplane and did not shut down. We changed rooms again, this was at 11 pm. The third room had two huge lights that would not turn off completely. We had to sleep in a super bright room. The next day we complained and they tomd us the could refund us and we could change hotels. We did. We had booked 4 nights. They refunded us 1 night. Also, the rooms are super old and outdated and there is no bar or restaurant service (only for breakfast). The pool is more like a pond. Overall, would not recommend. Horrible experience.

Probando nuevas opciones encontramos este hotel con buenas reseñas. Un ex-convento convertido en hotel, tiene muchos detalles de los hoteles boutiques pero con una amplitud que gratamente me sorprendio. 2 patios grandes (uno que sirve como restaurant y el otro que hospeda el jardin y un hermoso arbol de jacaranda) dan el tono para relaj****. Las habitaciones de buen tamaño, cama y almohadas comodas y las amenidades de productos locales "agua de naturaleza" de muy buena calidad Personal muy amable. Pudimos apreciar algunas de las rejas hechas por Francisco Toledo y puertas originales del convento. Atmosfera muy tranquila y relajada ( a pesar de estar a una cuadra del zocalo, por lo que la locación es inmejorable). Restaurantes de alta gamma a pocos metros. La zona de la terraza bien acondicionada ( un gimnasio con buenos aparatos) y alberca para el que quisiera d**** un chapuzon). Muy recomendable y volveria sin dudar. Otros comentarios utiles para viajeros: Las habitaciones tienen unas hermosas ventanas que puedes abrir, sin embargo el jardin hace que haya bastantes mosquitos y se pueden colar uno ( o mas) por la tarde-noche El mueble del lavabo no estaba pegado a la pared, por lo que en un movimiento, al retirarme un collar resbalo y quedo atrapado entre el mueble y la pared. Afortunadamente lo pude sacar con ayuda de un gancho. Pequeños detalles.

Tranquilo y cómodo. Excelente personal. No tengo quejas. La comida del restaurante es deliciosa, junto con el pan recién horneado. Desearía poder quedarme más noches pero todavía hay un largo viaje que hacer. Saludos a todo el staff que me hizo sentir como en casa.
