The main course was okay, but quite small portions, the desserts were enjoyable. Due to poor procurement planning for the Easter weekend, they were limited in their choice of main courses due to being busy and running out of food plus some beers. After paying £300 plus , they added on a £30 service fee to the bill, which was removed when asked. Tips should be the customer's choice. Having the family all together made the evening a very pleasant experience. I'm unsure if I'll return, parking there is a challenge.

Visited the Smugglers Inn last night with family including our 2 dogs and what a fantastic experience. What a joy to receive excellent customer service as well as great food. We had both main course and dessert and we couldn’t fault it. The service we received from the staff was very friendly but professional. Will definitely be returning. Thank you

This is a good place to stay for a few days when visiting the area. The inn is at the end of a road right on the coast. The room was a decent size and was nicely decorated and furnished. There was a decent bathroom. The breakfast options were a bit limited but the sausage bap was very good. It is a big pub with lots of covers with lots of seats inside and outside. It is very close to a couple of campsites and it gets very busy at lunchtimes and in the evenings. I saw a number of people being turned away in the evening because there were no available tables, so it would be best to book, especially at weekends and in school holidays. The service was very efficient and very friendly. There is a car park but it fills up during the day as people come for drinks and meals.

We'd booked up the road but having brought our daughter over for a drink earlier in the day and compared menus we cancelled that booking and returned here instead. We don't eat meat so it can be tricky to find a decent choice, but no problem here. My wife recommended the fish pie to me after a previous visit so I had that and the others the Beetroot Wellington and Squash Ravioli after soup starters. Sticky Toffee Pudding, Apple Pie and the Hot Chocolate pudding followed and everything went down well. Being a Thursday there happened to be a quiz on and we joined in that and made a night of it. I'm surprised by other negative reviews as the staff were friendly and attentive. We won't hesitate to come back if we're in the area on a day out.

After hearing what a lovely pub this was, whilst on holiday in October 2023 me my wife and son with autism parked up and walked down the steep hill in to the pub. My wife and son went to the toilet whilst i went to the bar to order the drinks. I then asked the young barmaid if she could bring the drinks over to a table for me as i walk with a stroller to which she said why can’t them two who came in with you do it. She was very rude so when my wife returned from the toilet and my son they bought the drinks to the table whilst the barmaid stared at us. We drank up amd decided to go for food at the Spice Ship up the road where we was made welcome

The bar and waiting staff are absolutely lovely - they really make this place feel special. They’re genuinely kind and welcoming. The food was also great. Lunch on a fairly blustery and chilly Friday. Exceeded all expectations. Thoroughly recommended.

Stopped here for a drink and a light snack knowing its probably expensive. But for the money i expected our food (although ok) to be hot. (It probably got cold waiting for someone to serve it). Normally i walk out of any establishment that will not accept cash. I should have so done here.

Tucked away on the coast near Weymouth, this sumptuous place is full of beams, character and "Smuggler" memorabilia. Shelley and her staff are fabulous. Ella B looked after us from start to finish with a smile and a laugh. The food is superb, thanks to Costi, and Sam kept us topped up with drinks. Our room was very comfy, the shower room clean and warm. After a long (long) drive from France, it was the perfect setting to meet up with family. Thank you SO much

Lovely location, lots of atmosphere and character inside, however the food didn’t quite live up to the expectations and the surroundings, one main course arrived only lukewarm, another was tasteless and overall the value for money was not great, the staff were lovely very welcoming and efficient lifting the experience
