Travelling around Namibia, going where suits us, we decided on Kifaru Lodge. The lodge was 24 km up a rough dirt road. Half way there is a locked gate, and with a combination lock. Weak phone signal but managed to telephone lodge to ask for assistance. They would not give it without a firm booking. Suggested we return to the town and and make a booking. That's 12 km on a rough road to book a place we hadn't seen for a very high price. They belong to a company that encourages walk-in bookings, and yet you can't walk in. Disappointed.

One of the highlights of our Namibia trip. Rhinos are so hard to find in Africa but this place has a lot. You will see so many white rhinos, babies, adults, closeup, interacting, more rhinos than anywhere else we have been to. It is an out of the way place, and took a long time to get there from the main road. The rooms are plain but adequate in the Bush Camp. The pool was too cold for us. No lounge chairs. Food and the people there were the best. Do not expect varied wildlife other than antelope, similar common game, since here its all about rhinos, mainly white. You will probably not see black rhino, too few. But the white rhinos are more easily approachable & you can get very close. You can have a brunch among the rhinos. You will see them throughout the whole game drive. This was an amazing place for a 2 or 3 days visit. This is a must if you visit Namibia.

If only words can describe this amazing place where one can relax and unwind in a quiet and elegant setting. Our family enjoyed a genuine experience of leisure, pleasure, gastronomy and wellness. Kifaru is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Namibia. It was a privileged Thank you!

Spectacular view and rooms. Marvelous bath view and the outside shower is amazing. The rooms were not "cleaned" , meaning bed made and coffee replaced during our stay even though we hanged the please clean room object. The swimmingpool area is nice and relaxing and the food was good. Staff were very friendly and overall a very nice experience.

My apologies for putting in my review a bit late. I had such an amazing time at your Lodge. An absolute beauty with the best views and landscape. I absolutely loved it. I’m sure my friends and family are tired of hearing what an amazing place you got there.

We spent two wonderful nights at Kifaru Lodge. The main building and individual lodges overlook the bush and are tastefully designed and comfortable and there is a very welcome pool in which to cool down. The Lodge manager and staff were absolutely brilliant, both welcoming and efficient., and the food was excellent. Yes, getting there does require a long drive which is extremely bumpy, even by gravel road standards, but this all adds to the anticipation and feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. The Lodge is closely affiliated to the Rhino Momma conservation project, being located just outside the reservation. Many of the activities are therefore focused on rhino (though not exclusively). We arrived in time to go on the 'Sundowner Drive', the high spot of which was having tea (or, if you preferred, G & T) and snacks less than 10 metres from where white rhino were grazing, completely unphased by our presence. We also went on a morning game drive. For both, Leroy was our fantastic guide - his knowledge of rhinos (and other wildlife) was encyclodedic and only surpassed by his enthusiasm for all things rhino, which was positively infectious.

I would have liked to have given this lodge 5*. It's a small romantic style lodge with lovely, spacious rooms set well away from the main highway. Food was very good and staff helpful and pleasant. The Rhino conservation was interesting with close up, but safe, encounters. The down side was that if going for a jeep style safari experience this is not the lodge to chose. The only wildlife available are antelope, impala etc and the rhino. There are no Lions, leopards, cheetah or any of the plains game that you would expect to have a chance of experiencing. They don't exist in this area as confirmed by our guide. My stay was 2 days and this lodge was part a the package so did not chose it. The room was not tidied or bed made, I didn't use tea or coffee so cannot comment on that. Overall a nice secluded lodge but don't expect a true safari experience (unless Rhino are your thing)

How am I going to put into words how absolutely wonderful Kifaru Bush Camp was?? One can not but feel welcome when you are personally greeted by Natalia Nailenge as you step out of the vehicle. Welcome rooibos tea cocktails offered by a smiling Hambeleleni Nakapandi. Dinner was from heaven for Chef Selma E Shigwedha prepared exceptional Oryx steaks with beautiful side dishes after our evening drive. Amber and Tristan Muller - manager/guide I booked an evening drive but only morning drives are done, but these two young people went above and beyond to make an evening drive possible and Richardo had lovely sundowner drinks and snacks ready and available on our arrival at the viewing area. Not only was our visit and drive fantastic, it was also educational. Amber and Tristan shared their passion for protecting the rhino in their care and about the 'Rhino Momma Project" Johannes controlled everything fire, from the inviting camp fire on arrival back from our drive to every room's boiler fire for our hot water. 'More time to visit' is definitely on my list for next time. Disliked · Road: As with most roads to 'hidden gems' this one for sure needs time The GPS coordinates are at the turn off from the paved road onto the gravel road towards Kifaru Bush Camp. Give yourself at least two hours to drive before you get to Kifaru Bush Camp itself. Do not calculate the time of arrival according to the kilometer signs on route. You can not drive fast here!! Having said all of the above, I will gladly drive this road, to visit, AGAIN!!
