So having experienced Mark Warner for the fist time on this holiday we decided the concept defintely suited us as a family. We went as a couple with our 14 year old son. Son made extensive use of the water sports, learning to scuba dive and water ski, husband did introduction to sailing, and all of us used the exercise classes. Special shout out to Roz and Natalia for their great classes, and Natalia's early morning walks! We found all the equipment to be of a good standard, but the booking of watersports could be frustrating at times. Even if you are there at 9am you may not get a slot for the next day! The adult pool is lovely and was pretty quiet when we were there, beach has plenty of sunbeds and again was fairly quiet. It is very rocky (and a bit ouchey!) getting into the sea, I recommend waterproof shoes. Accomdation was lovely, room cleaning of a very high standard, the resort is clean, tidy and well kept. The bars are fine, the pool bar often understaffed though, the beach bar is better staffed. All local staff are great and work very hard. The restaurant is good, breakfast is fantastic with so many choices, dinner has lots of choices but somehow felt very "samey" the second week. The taverna for lunch is hit and miss, food is ok but service can be slow and a bit haphazard. It's worth getting baguettes from the bars instead (cheap and filling), or cycle to the village for lunch (10 minute ride). On the subject of the village, we recommend Dionysus, food, wine and service absolutely excellent! Get a taxi there in the evening and walk back, there's a coastal road which is flat and easy, it will take you about 30 minutes. Our teen wants me to say that he found the Indy club boring, they just seemed to play water polo in the morning then that was it. Surely it could be better than that? Perhaps it was because school holidays had not got into full swing. Things that could be better 1. jugs of free water with dinner or lunch on the table, dont make people buy plastic bottles of water, it's terrible for the environment but also a bit mean. Also perhaps give (or sell cheaply) a Mark Warner resuable water bottle to everyone on arrival. 2. If watersports are under pressure, don't let people book too many slots, resrict them to one. On the whole, a great holiday, would defintely consider doing MW again.
