We have just spent the week at the Fodele Beach Hotel and had a fantastic time. We were a family of 5, with two young children (8&9). On the second day, our children went to kids club and we barely saw them for the rest of the week they enjoyed it so much! The entire entertainment/mini team by Pink Wave were amazing with our children but we were particularly impressed by the dedication and warmth shown by one staff member, Karina. Karina was kind, caring and naturally engaging and will be truly missed by our children.

A really good, family friendly hotel and resort. We travelled with 6 children aged 3 or under and 6 adults and stayed in superior family rooms with garden views. The rooms were great, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a fridge, tv and excellent air conditioning. The hotel is nice and clean with a good variety of bars and restaurants. The water park is a great feature and the pools are nice. The beach and sea is lovely and good selection of sun beds and shade across the beach. Access around the hotel is tricky if you have a pram as there are lots of different layers to the complex separated by steps so I’d recommend taking a carrier if you can. There are some negative reviews about food and bar queues but we found the food was really nice, especially the beach bbq which was excellent. There were queue at some of the bars but not long and they moved quickly. The entertainment is a bit budget compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at so that brings it down a notch on the review. I wouldn’t visit if travelling with adults only as children dominate the pool during the day.

First of all I would like to say that the hotel is in beautiful location and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the hotel is understaffed and the queues were long. The main negative thing for us was day and night entertainment. There wasn’t much going on at the pool or beach during the day, no music at the pool area. Also evening entertainment felt like a nursery show. Really disappointing. Hotel requires walking quite a lot of steps which we didn’t mind. Also, we’ve had a car, so we managed to do some exploring without the car we would be really bored. Overall good, but definitely not 5*.

Travelling as a single mum, this has been a wonderful holiday. The staff were incredible, especially Pantalons americano coffee and Christina tidying up. Everything was clean, always felt safe and looked after. Special shout out to the aegeo spa with great massage for mum and son together, where my 8 year old had a chocolate aromatherapy massage and Maria really took my shoulder tension away. Finally loved the mini club and entertainments team - Beas water gym was a fave, and the staff have been so kind at the kids club. Great break.

Fodele Beach is a great hotel for a family holiday. The rooms and hotel are clean, modern and well decorated and the views to the beach and hills are stunning. The wide variety of swimming pools and easy access to the (very clean) beach is great. The food in the main restaurant for all courses is good quality and plenty of variety. We also attended the Sunday night beach BBQ which was really good. Our 5 year old loved going to mini/kids club activities both in the day and the evening, all the entertainers were so friendly and we felt very comfortable with them all. The team put a lot of effort into the Sunday night animation show and our son really enjoyed the production. Whilst the location seems remote, there is easy access to a bus to Herakleion which runs each hour and takes around 30 minutes, and a team member who sits in reception each day to help book excursions and guide you with tourist queries. We found it quite easy to travel around once directed. I also enjoyed a visit to the spa where all the team were very professional and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. One piece of feedback is that we were unable to book in for any a la carte meals as all the restaurants were fully booked for our time, but appreciate it is a busy hotel and the lovely hostess ensured we got booked onto the BBQ instead which was appreciated.

This was our first time at an all inclusive and it was above and beyond what we hoped and expected. The location is absolutely lush. A short trip from the airport and you're in the bay of fodele, a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains predominantly occupied by the resort. There is a few other small hotels & a gift shop down the beach and the road runs close by to the hotel, although despite being in one of the rooms closest to it, it doesn't disturb or encroach. The resort spreads up the hillside and down onto the beach, with bars, snacks and restaurants across multiple levels. I actually can't think of a better location than fodele beach for such a resort. Food: I am a vegetarian and my partner has a nut allergy, severe to peanuts. From a vegetarian point of view there is always a small selection of choices for mains as an addition to the daily pasta, pizza, soup & salad options which are available lunch & dinner every day. The buffet is extensive, with a wide variety of dishes, I sometimes felt disappointed that something I liked the look of often had meat in it (stir fry noodles, with an additional label stating pork etc) but overall the minimum I would have on my plate was 3 different hot food options as well as the backup of pizza! A note for vegans, there was always a vegan pizza, and I believe the pasta may have been vegan as well as plenty of build your own salad, but that was about it I believe (although don't quote me); the vegan pizza often also was topped with peas? Overall I was pretty happy about the food situation, I definitely felt catered for. Also, a crucial addition, the wine is bottomless refill serve yourself style. Amazing. As for nut allergies, everything has a label with details of allergens, although later on in the service some often go missing and the deserts are more or less guess work due to the labels often struggling to correlate particularly obviously to that on show. There was always a variety of nut free options, however the labels often we assumed were saying "may contain" as things like margarita pizza were labeled with nuts. Overall as someone who has lived with a nut allergy for 27years, the deserts aside I found it to be as good an experience as I may have expected from a buffet style restaurant. On our final night we ate at "ambrosia" the Italian restaurant (which with a 7night stay is free for all inclusive for a single booking which includes 5courses!) having noted a nut allergy on the booking they were extremely attentive, coming to the table to outline what was & wasn't containing and re-itterating when we ordered something that has "traces" . It was at this point we realised that we probably should have asked for more assistance in identifying nut traces Vs containing foods in the buffet. The entertainment was overall pretty great we found, as a mid twenties couple. The evening entertainment admittedly wasn't always the greatest. Daytime however the "pink wave" crew who are lovely have a timetab

Fodele Beach Resort is an amazing place to visit. We have been twice now, and have loved each trip! There's loads to do, with the water park on site, loads of pools, the beach just meters from the resort (and right next to one of the pools!) along with water sports and the Aegeo Spa. One of the girls in the spa, Katerina, is really nice and makes you feel so welcomed here! She remembered us from our previous visit and is so lovely. Fodele is one our top 3 places to visit regularly.

This was our first visit to Greece and it certainly exceeded our expectations in every way! The views from the hotel is absolutely stunning - it is not overlooked by any other hotels nearby and felt incredibly serene and calm, a great place to come to relax. Food was fantastic every single night with a large variety to choose from - in particular some beautifully cooked seafood dishes. A huge thank you to the hotel staff who made our stay so wonderful - our children are already asking when can we come back again!

A great place for families! It has kids catered for. The facilities are great, staff very nice. Spa is fantastic, especially the staff here. Katerina is amazing! Maria is great too. I would say that the hotel is great for families, but if you don’t want it too crowded, the beach is gorgeous; the main pool is too busy for us, so we found peace at the water park. Which was great for our little one, in the kids pool. The buffet has such a variety of food, The rooms are very clean. And the place itself is gorgeous. For me it lacks that 5 Star finesse. A lovely place though!

This is second visit to Fodele Beach as a family with our 5 year old daughter. The hotel is perfect for families, catering for all ages and interests. We absolutely love the waterpark and slides. You are guaranteed a fun day in the sun! The food is beautiful and the hotel offers so many different themed nights to choose from. The staff are absolutely amazing, they are so friendly/ welcoming/helpful from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. They make an effort to get to know you and greet you on every occasion. They help you arrange excursions, and make everything so simple. We visited the CretAquariam which was amazing!! Definitely a must see! Then visited Heraklion city for the day! The restaurant Ippokampus was beautiful with the best seafood!! 😊 A visit to the Aegeo Spa is a must!!! It can be a little pricey depending on what you choose but it's worth every penny! Katerina is fabulous and makes you feel fantastic! You leave feeling so relaxed and refreshed! My husband loved the selection of water sports by the beach and enjoyed the Jetskis so much!! Our daughter had the best holiday in such a clean, safe and friendly environment!! She loved the kids mini disco each night, which is so fun for the little ones. I would highly recommend Fodele beach for a family friendly holiday! We can't wait to return! (Fanily of 3 visiting from Belfast NI)

The hotel is beautiful, but if you don’t do stairs then it’s not for you. Our room was lovely, air con was great and had a gorgeous view but we had 134 steps up to it from main reception. There is a train that runs during the day, but doesn’t start till 10.30am and stops at 8.00pm. This means you have to walk up and down at breakfast and up and down at night. A bit tricky if you want to take a drink up to your room at night to sit on the balcony as by the time we got up to our room I had spilled most of mine. There is nothing around the hotel, no shops or bars to walk to apart from one wee shop on the beach and a couple of restaurants. The shop on the beach was much cheaper than the hotel shop. We were there in May. Weather was lovely and the Waterpark was fairly quiet. We found the pools cold, but once you were in they were fine especially on the days the temperatures were in the early 30’s. We always went to the quieter pool which was near the beach and never had any bother getting a sunbed. There’s a lift up to the bar area. Just a shame there’s no music playing at the pool during the day. We are used to holidays with music and fun activities round the pool. We found the food a bit repetitive, but always found something to eat. The ‘fish’ night was almost all fish which wasn’t great for non fish eaters. The cakes were delicious. I wasn’t keen on the vodka based cocktails. I’m a vodka drinker but they just didn’t taste that good. The lime daiquiri was lovely as was the pina colada. The white wine was nice too. All in all this is a lovely hotel with stunning views, a great waterpark and beach. It will definitely suit some families, but we wouldn’t return only because of the location and the many steps up to the rooms.

Had really high expectations for this place. Really raved about on social media and we were excited to visit Greece for the first time. My first point is important for those travelling with children……There are no lifeguards at the pool, and whilst i understand you are responsible for supervising your children, it would have been comforting knowing that a lifeguard was present. Not a lot of people know life saving skills. That being said, we closely supervised the 4 year old with us. ROOMS Safe in room Shower /wet room Rooms clean and tidy Tea and coffee in rooms Blackout blinds Air con Balcony Toiletries TV - basic TV guide Decent wardrobe space Listing stated mini bar service in room for additional cost. Was not even offered this. Onsite shop - very expensive and there is nowhere else to shop so you have little choice Check in was quick and staff very helpful when taking your luggage to rooms. There are a lot of slopes here, which can be very physically challenging. Luckily there is a train which runs around the resort during the day. However it was out of action on our last 3 days. The hotel staff use golf carts to help you around which is great given the number of slopes here. As per, having to get up at the crack of dawn if you had any chance of getting sunbeds. Frustrating to see beds reserved and empty for most of day. On our last day, notes were attached to beds stating that items would be removed if unoccupied. This never happened. Sadly, the food was repetitive, same things every day. We were not at all impressed by the foods available. The queues for the restaurant and drinks are long! This was frustrating particularly as we were travelling with a 4 year old! Snacks and lunches were the same everyday. Pizza, pasta, chips with the usual salads. Any meats were very dry. Asian night was decent food and we managed to eat a decent meal. On several occasions, staff did not replenish food quickly enough. One evening the queues were so long we had to sit separately to accommodate our group of 6. If you wish to sit outdoors to eat, you end up on cheap folding chairs which really lets the place down. One evening the queue was so long we went and had a drink and came back. When we came back the childrens buffet was closed. I felt that there was less choice when dining later in the evening. The self serve drink stations were brilliant and was a relief that you didnt have to queue for a drink with your meal. Hotel staff in general seemed really miserable. I always felt rushed when ordering drinks. The entertainment staff were great though! Rooms were okay, but given the cost of this place my expectations were much higher. The guy who swaps towels was very agressive on one of the days where it rained. He was shouting out that people had let towels get wet. He then ignored the queue of people wanting to swap towels. I walked to reception to get clean towels and was told to go to the man at the pool. I explained wh

Nice Hotel, good Service and very clean. I really liked the Spa and the Massage from Maria. I felt so relaxed after that. Food is also good and the Entertainment in the evening ist cool. The kids loved the beach and the train which goes every few minutes.
