Hotel Lutetia, Paris

Paris|0.98km from St Francis Xavier's Church
What else would you do on a wet, blustery, rainy March afternoon in Paris, but pamper yourself with a leisurely high tea at the wonderful Lutetia Hotel? My daughter and I booked a 3pm slot and having deliberately foregone lunch, we arrived hungry & right on time. We were seated immediately by a very efficient & kind hostess beneath the highly decorative glass roof in Le St-Germain and ordered the set afternoon tea menu for 65€ with Blue of London tea for me and a delicious thick hot chocolate for her. Our drinks arrived promptly and we chatted as we waited for the pièce de résistance: 3 savoury and 7 sweet items. After another 35 minutes of waiting, our stomachs finally stopped rumbling. Obviously chef patissier Nicolas Guercio's creativity wowed us, especially the Crab with yuzu sansho, daikon infused with grapefruit on the savoury side, while the Pineapple and green cardamom sorbet vied with the Scones clotted cream and raspberry jam (memories from my childhood!) on the sweet side. What wowed us much less was the fact that we were asked to vacate our table at 4:50pm! Not only had we waited 40 minutes to actually eat our afternoon tea, but now we were being rushed out after an hour and 10 minutes! Nowhere on the website was there mention that you have under 2 hours to consume your afternoon tea. So future afternoon tea amateurs, beware, there's no such thing as a leisurely afternoon tea at the Lutetia!

Hotel Villa Saxe Eiffel

Paris|0.34km from St Francis Xavier's Church
I first stayed at this Hotel in 2014 and was very impressed with the entire experience, so I valued this hotel and always wanted to return… 8 years later and I was extremely disappointed. I booked a superior villa room, and we was given room 6. This room is located on the ground floor directly behind the reception reception desk on the ground floor. The receptionist (skinny white male, 40+ years old) who checked us in on 15/12/22 at 11:30pm was very rude, awkward and sarcastic during the check in process. When we got to our room, we felt it lacked privacy being on the ground floor with only a wall between us and the main reception area, the Toilet was also in a separate room with no sink, meaning anyone who uses that toilet would need to open the door with their dirty hands and walk all the way to the bathroom to wash hands. There were also mascara stains on one of the pillows. We requested if we could change to another room on a higher floor but to the same level for what we had paid for (superior villa room). The receptionist said this was fine, and changed us over to another room on the 5th floor. We were really happy and grateful until we got to the room, only to find this room was actually a downgrade to a ‘classic villa room’ which felt much smaller and wasn’t very nice. This also wasn’t explained to us prior to him changing our rooms over. We returned to reception and asked why we had been out in a downgraded room, his response was he didn’t realise and this was a mistake in his behalf. I asked him if there were any other rooms to the same value as what I had paid for the superior room available on another floor. I was told out of the entire hotel there was only two rooms left, the one behind reception, or the classic room on the 5th floor which would be a downgrade. We reluctantly opted to stay with the original room behind reception. The receptionist was very smug and seemed to find this funny. After settling in and falling asleep… 6:30am a motorbike wakes us up, as our room is located beside the main entrance and reception we hear every car or motorbike dropping off, or picking up guests, and every person checking in or out. 7:15am the bins are collected, again very loud and as our room is right next to this area we hear it all. It really seems standards have significantly dropped since we last stayed. Service seems to be poor and cleanliness of the hotel not as good as before, an overall terrible experience and if it wasn’t so late when we checked in I would’ve booked another hotel because the receptionist was so rude. On a side note, I must also say there was another receptionist who was working the night shift the following day (16/12/22) around 10pm and he was very friendly, helpful and a nice person. If I could give him 5 stars I would, but unfortunately the experience with the initial receptionist meant our experience was already tainted by this point. I doubt we will ever return unfortunately, and cannot recommend, unless your guaranteed a decent room on a higher floor.

1,75 Paris la Seve

Paris|0.4km from St Francis Xavier's Church
We stayed at 1.75 La Sève, Paris 7: a real gem in the heart of Paris! The principle: one apartment per level with 3 or 4 individual bedrooms and access to the common living space including a large living/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The establishment has just opened its doors and offers high-end services. The refined decoration, somewhat inspired by the 1930s, with its custom-made furniture created by decorator Daphné Desjeux, gives a very warm feel to the place. Our room, very spacious (a suite), with an intimate atmosphere, benefits from excellent comfort (including the wonderful bedding!). The combination of materials and different fabrics chosen (including the thick curtains) make it a real cozy nest. The breakfast (included) is fantastic. It’s actually a real brunch! The fresh orange juice, delicious jams with tasty blends (including rhubarb and elderberry), smoked salmon, cheeses, hams, various breads and pastries, as well as unlimited hot drinks, delighted our taste buds! Late arrivals can be easily done thanks to the door unlocking system with a mobile phone. The staff is charming and, discreetly, works hard to ensure that you don't miss anything. Their delicate attention contributed to the excellent experience of our stay. Ideal for vacations or weekends with friends, family or for visitors who can, if they wish, share their various Parisian experiences within this common space. The central location (close to all shops, a multitude of bars-restaurants and must-see historical monuments), the standing and the prices charged by this establishment definitely make this incredibly quiet hotel a place to stay! Address to remember & distribute. To be reserved, without a doubt!!!!

Hotel Royal Phare

The location of the hotel is just super. Near Mars Field, to Eiffel Tower you can reach in 5 minutes. The rooms are clean, comfortable. At the respiratory we met an employee named Andrey , he is separate thanks. (We have answered many questions that are interesting to us and gave some advice) we took breakfast. They are scarce but they can be saturated. We had room 602. There is a teapot, a fan, a refrigerator, a TV without Russian channels) The only minus is the floors in the bathroom. They are ice) The view from the window is not bad and the main thing is not noisy. Near the hotel 5 metres subway) the hotel recommends. Next trip we choose it again)

Hotel Duquesne Eiffel

We stayed in Paris for just 2 nights, but Hotel Duquesne Eiffel helped to make it memorable. The staff was more than helpful for any questions and always greeted us with a smile. We had a great view of the Eiffel tower staying in room 56, there is a small balcony you can stand on, which we took full advantage of. We also added champagne and macaroons as and upgrade and did not regret it, both were delicious.

Hotel de France Invalides

The hotel is small, but it is very clean, breakfast is good, played in Europe for a long time, lived a better hotel but compared to breakfast, this is quite rich. In addition, the hotel front desk small brother Chinese is very good, good value for money, convenient transportation, careful selection of room size requirements, European hotels say really not as big as China, do not report too much hope, five stars will not be great!
Hotel Vaneau Saint Germain
4.1/583 Reviews
Very good location and safe, next to M Vaneau. The front desk personnel, the lady at the breakfast bar and the tech were all very polite and courteous, they were even friendly and kind. This makes me want to return to this hotel, only because they made me feel taken care of. The only thing I would recommend is changing the old carpet in the bedrooms or exposing the natural wood that might be hiding underneath. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Not an elegant hotel, but the nicest people taking care of their guests.
