MingZhushanfang

We were delighted to have found and stayed at this property. Minzhushanfang is a very new bed-and-breakfast accommodation with a minimalist, calming, zen-style architecture befitting of the Wuyishan area. The rooms are similarly designed along the same minimalist, zen concept and are true to the property photos published on the booking platform. We deliberately chose an accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of town and so, found the location of Mingzhushanfang excellent. Located directly across from the entrance of the Wuyishan scenic area, it was very convenient accessing the park while being peaceful and tranquil. Do note that with its location being away from town centre, dining options at or near the property aren't many, so having dinner near town, prior to heading back to the hotel at night is strongly recommended. The room we booked has a peaceful stream view, and looks remotely across towards the Dawangfeng peak. Room and facilities are very clean. While it seems smoking is not prohibited in the rooms, we were very thankful we had no issues whatsoever with residual smoke odour. The owners of this property, who are also tea growers and manufacturers, were extremely hospitable. We were always welcomed for candid tea tastings and conversation at the lobby area, They even went out of their way to help us when we got abit lost in town! Their breakfast made by their Ah Yi is wholesome and amazing - with a lot of farm-to-table ingredients freshly harvested from their own vegetable patch. I would love to go back to visit Wuyishan again and will not hestiate to stay at Minzhushanfang again.

The room was cozy and clean. Our family was traveling together, and we had booked two 1.5m beds. They upgraded us for free to two 1.8m beds and even gave us four bottles of mineral water. The room had lots of snacks, as well as a thermometer and sewing kit, which was very thoughtful. The Da Hong Pao show is only a five-minute walk away, and it's about a 7-minute drive to the Wuyi Mountain scenic area. The proprietress and staff were all very friendly. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Choosing Chunpo was hands down the best surprise of our Wuyi Mountain vacation. Our entire stay was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating, and I've already recommended it to all my friends planning a trip here. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the resort area, backed by Dawang Peak, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. There's a free shuttle to the scenic area, and San Gu Old Street is within walking distance, making getting around incredibly convenient. The entire hotel is designed with Song Dynasty landscape aesthetics at its core, covering over 100,000 square meters, with water features and gardens making up a large portion. Pavilions, bamboo corridors, and picturesque bridges are scattered throughout, and when the mist rises, it feels like stepping into an ancient painting. The unique boat entry experience adds a wonderful sense of ceremony, and in the evening, thousands of lanterns light up, creating a fantastic atmosphere. They even offer free Hanfu rentals for photoshoots, ensuring every shot is Instagram-worthy. In your leisure time, you can enjoy a tea ceremony by the stream, try tea art, calligraphy, and other 'Gentleman's Nine Arts' experiences, truly immersing yourself in Wuyi's tea culture. We stayed in a scenic view room this time, featuring panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and a viewing balcony. Opening the window revealed a stunning vista of layered mountains. The room amenities were thoughtfully chosen, with a soft King Koil mattress for a good night's sleep, a Dyson hairdryer, and L'Occitane toiletries. The smart devices were easy to use, and the oversized bathtub offered a perfect spot to relax and admire the scenery, washing away all fatigue. Daily fresh fruit and Wuyi rock tea as a gift showed meticulous attention to detail. The comprehensive family-friendly amenities, including children's bathrobes and toiletries, made traveling with kids completely stress-free. The service was attentive and thoughtful. Before check-in, our butler proactively reached out to understand our needs. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a warm cup of Dahongpao tea. Luggage handling and electric buggies around the property were readily available on call, with quick responses that never felt intrusive. The self-service breakfast offered a rich variety, including local specialties like Zixi noodles, Guangbing, and Ai Cao Guo, along with various warming and flavorful stews. The Chinese restaurant served authentic Wuyi local flavors, and the waterside private dining rooms offered a unique dining experience with stunning views. The hotel's facilities are excellent, with a heated swimming pool and a gym open all day, providing plenty of leisure options. Away from the city's noise, embracing the charm of Song Dynasty landscapes, the service, environment, and facilities are all impeccable. It's perfectly suited for both couples and families on vacation. When I return to Wuyi Mountain, Chunpo will undoubtedly be my first choice again.

Whether you're already passionate about tea or just starting your journey, Buzhichun is the perfect place to stay in Wuyishan — a city deeply rooted in tea culture. The room is spacious, super clean, and thoughtfully designed with minimalist touches. The natural colors and materials create a calming atmosphere that feels like home — perfect for slow living. The bathroom is large, spotless, and well-equipped with amenities. I especially loved the beautiful natural light in the room. On the ground floor, there’s a vibrant tea shop where young locals drop by, creating a lively atmosphere. You'll find historical exhibitions and curated objects that offer insight into both Wuyishan and the rich heritage of Chinese tea. And don’t miss meeting Xiaobai, the friendly resident dog who’s always happy to greet guests. The 6th floor features a cozy tatami-style common room, complete with a go board and a tea table overlooking stunning panoramic mountain views — an ideal place to unwind. What truly sets this place apart is the host and the staff. They’re warm, welcoming, and always ready to share tea with you — each time you return from a walk or come downstairs. I stayed two nights and tried at least 6–7 different kinds of Wuyishan tea. Even as a solo traveler and a foreigner, I felt included in conversations and easily connected with other guests. Pro tip: If you know a bit of Chinese, it’ll help you dive deeper into the stories behind the place. But even if you don’t, the language of tea will still make you feel at home. Thank you, Buzhichun, for turning my trip to Wuyishan into such a memorable experience.

Nanping Colorful Village Homestay

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to scenic spots, and shopping is incredibly convenient nearby. It has its own parking lot, making it great for those traveling by car. The front desk lady was very warm, attentive, and helpful, answering all my questions and even upgrading my room for free. The room was very spacious, clean, and odorless, and the air conditioning was quiet, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. The breakfast was also rich and satisfying! I'll definitely choose Baina Hotel again if I come back to Wuyishan.

This hotel deserves a five-star review! My trip to Wuyishan was made so comfortable and hassle-free by Jinjiang Metropolo, it completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel has a free tea room on the ground floor, so you can sit down and enjoy tea anytime after checking in. The authentic Wuyi rock tea has a rich aroma. Brewing a pot during leisure time helps shed the fatigue of travel and allows for an immersive experience of the local tea culture – it was truly delightful. The staff provided incredibly attentive service. They proactively helped plan my travel itinerary, clearly outlining the order of attractions and transportation methods. They also accurately recommended authentic local restaurants frequented by locals, helping me avoid tourist traps and enjoy delicious, affordable meals, completely solving any dining dilemmas during my trip. The Da Hong Pao tea sold at the hotel is of superior quality. After trying it, I immediately bought some. It's perfect for personal consumption or as a gift, with guaranteed authenticity, so there's no need to bother searching for specialty stores. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The hotel's location is close to both the scenic area and the old street, making getting around very convenient. The entire experience was excellent, with thoughtful service and a rich tea culture atmosphere. This is definitely my top choice for a trip to Wuyishan, and I will stay here again next time. I highly recommend it to all tea lovers and travelers!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was big and sunny, very silent, the bed comfortable, the heating worked really well and the shower gets nice and hot if you wait for a while. It’s off season right now, but we were still surprised to see that the hotel was practically empty, it deserves more clients. It’s one of the few hotels inside the park which is very convenient, and much nicer than the ones outside of the park that look really sad and ugl. We much preferred waking up with a view on the tea plantations. The staff doesn’t speak English at all but they’re very kind and will try their best to understand all your needs through translation apps. We ended up staying a day less and they were kind enough to give us the breakfast for free. They will also offer you to taste their local tea in the hall, which is delicious and served in the traditional way which is fascinating to watch. The furniture and overall look of the hotel might be a little dated, but we actually liked it, it gives character compared to all the ultra modern, aseptic hotels. The breakfast was really abundant and delicious, typical of the area which we loved. The only real inconvenience is that didi won’t be able to leave you at the hotel entrance, it will be stopped at the park entrance which is a 10 minutes walk on a road busy with all the park’s buses. The solution is either booking the car directly through the hotel, or ask the hotel to register your didi’s plate so it can enter the park. We did this when we visited the nearby Xiamei village and it worked.
