Sure, it’s a bit “tired” but for one night at The Slate (next door) you can get about 10 nights at the Nai Yang Beach resort in a “Deluxe Room” (new wing) so on that basis alone this place kicks goals. Go for “an Oasis Room” next to pool. Try and negotiate around 800 Baht inc breakfast and you will be doing well. The 200 baht breakfast is ok but there are no fabulous breakfast places in Nai Yang. Best bet for breakfast is Mamma Nang. Best place for Thai food generally is Phen’s. Best place for a beer is the Sun Set Bar on Walking Street. The street food is good too. 50 baht Banana Roti (turn left out of Nai Yang Beach Resort and 20 metres away (opposite mini mart) is always great. This info based on 15 plus visits Nai Yang over 8 years and trying every restaurant and 6 different hotels of various standards.
