Hotel Castello Torre in Pietra

Went to a wedding lunch and everything was good. Not bad food. Good service. Large room. Very beautiful structure externally, fabulous location with the castle ... pity about the rain that did not let us enjoy the outdoor spaces. Recommended for events.

The structure is very well presented, the rooms are large and the bathrooms are not bad either, it really excels in cleaning, my daughter went around with white socks, and they remained so. Very helpful staff available for every need. Normal breakfast, with a predisposition for sweet, little salty. Definitely a relaxing place surrounded by greenery. The only drawbacks are the lack of 24 hour reception and the lack of a mini bar in the room. For the rest perfect, to be repeated for sure

Today we were invited to the middle Calore valley to a place that wants to take you back to distant times. Today we are staying at Torre in Pietra in Pietradefusi. The place refers to the Aragonese culture present in the historic center but of more recent construction. The panorama it offers gives air to the whole structure which in the gardens and internal rooms is a classic restaurant. Location 3/5 The choice of dishes, during the ceremonies, offers both sea and mountains. In our case, seafood dishes never make you feel the lack of quality compared to a location by the sea. Perfect combinations with local wines makes the whole menu stand out. Dishes 3/5 The staff at the reception and in the dining room have maintained a line of service in which the guest felt at ease, without praise and without infamy. Service 3/5 Excellent choice for small receptions without too much effort. Personal opinion, you could get married but in the season it also makes a place.

It is a wedding location which is certainly the main and I imagine also successful business of the structure. The same cannot be said of the hotel, the rooms are dated and need maintenance and renovation. There are damp spots on the ceiling and the door handles don't work. There are even rust spots on the radiator in the bathroom. Breakfast is served from 7.30 to 9.30 even in the height of summer, fruit is not served and the coffee is made by the automatic machine. The restaurant is not open if there are no ceremonies on the days of the reservation. It is a soullessly neglected place that would do well to focus on ceremonies exclusively.

In questo castello, fuori dalle rotte turistiche di massa, si può pranzare in una parte di una antica cantina e, stagione permettendo, nell'aia antistante, gustando con il supporto del preparatissimo enologo, i vini della "casa". Ho apprezzato in particolare il vermentino.
