Casa Swell Coronado

We enjoyed our stay with Jay. He, Jacinta and Seba were all great hosts who answered all our questions, made amazing breakfasts and made you feel like home. The pool was great for an afternoon dip to cool off and the property was well equipped with a full kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the room (Malibu) had a good sized bathroom. The birds in the morning were like symphony and we got up to listen to them on the patio because it was so beautiful. The beach was 5-10 mins walk away and it seemed like you had it all to yourself with how many people were there. We also enjoyed the guests and had so many great conversations. We also made some new friends with some fellow Calgarians which was a pleasant surprise. We'd highly recommend the place to others. Thanks again for being a great host.

Casa Swell in Coronado is just so in tune with the vibe of the area. When we were planning our Panama trip, we stumbled upon this hotel and it was the area's top pick. Everyone online was raving about it, especially the hosts. And hey, they have a dog named Toro – as dog people, we were sold. The place looked cozy too, just four units, authentic boutique style. Chatting with the host was super easy. They were all about helping us out, giving tips on car rentals and how to get around. Booking on their website? Piece of cake, and we got a room with its own little kitchenette. Check-in was a breeze, and we sorted everything over WhatsApp. Toro was there to greet us – such a happy dog with the biggest smile and wagging tail. The room was amazing. You could tell the hosts put their heart into it. Super comfy bed too, we slept like babies. Oh, and don't skip the breakfast option. Amazing eggs and the best part? Fresh juice from their mango tree. The pool was our chill spot for reading, and next time we're totally using the shared kitchen and the BBQ pit more. What's cool about a small place like this is how much the hosts care about your stay. If you're into food, take Jay’s restaurant tips. We tried Cafe Med, and it's now on our top Italian places list. Jay can set you up with all sorts of activities, like surfing and Ju Jitsu classes. And don’t forget about Toro. He loves his toys, and we even got him one from the American Pets store nearby as a tip for being such a good boy. We're definitely coming back to Casa Swell and can’t wait to bring our friends and family to experience this place. Big thanks to Jay, Eva, and Toro for being such awesome hosts.

We can not even put into words how impressed we are with not only the resort itself but the generous knowledge and service we received from Jay and Eva. We planned a trip to stay in Coronado after some research ourselves to look at possible relocation (and of course a vacation) Jay was always very quick to respond to any questions we had and provided us with honest answers and people to help us with our requests. (Realtor, Lawyer, Car Rentals, Taxi Services, Airport Transfers just to name a few) Our experience with all these services Jay recommended were all 5 star service as well. Jay went above and beyond daily giving us recommended itineraries that met our interests with restaurants to try, new beaches, different areas to visit, hiking etc with exact google locations. Tips on where to turn, where to park and exactly what we needed to know to make the most of our day. I watched Jay do this same thing daily with ALL his guests. Both Jay and Eva are super eager to help in any way they can. I wish i could take them on all my vacations to receive the service they provide. They have raised the bar in the hospitality sector!!! Ok now the resort itself.....absolutely incredible the little oasis they have created! Clean, secure, chill music playing, relaxing ambience, loved the fountain in the pool, hummingbirds everyday (my fav), our night walks to the beach to watch the sunset (less then 5 min walk) I could carry on forever so lets just say this. Casa Swell is THE place to stay!

OUTSTANDING 5 STARS!!! Casa Swell provided an incredible experience! The owners, J and Eva, are the BEST! They went above and beyond with their personal service. It all started with our reservation for 13 days during the high season. Initially, we could get in for a few days and then we would need to leave for a few days and then they could get us back in for the rest of our visit. J went out of his way to accommodate us and work it out where we could stay for the entire visit without leaving the resort. What a relief it was to not have to move to another hotel! That was only the start of their great service. J arranged for taxis with drivers he knew were reliable. He recommended restaurants and arranged lunch and dinner reservations as needed. If you wanted breakfast onsite, they provided it. J speaks multiple languages, so communication was easy, and he has extensive knowledge of life in Coronado. His information and advice were priceless. Now for the resort amenities. The rooms were clean and spacious. Casa Swell has an open area for dining and an open kitchen with gas stove, refrigerators, and dishwashers for anyone that wants to prepare a meal. They have a beautiful pool with a waterfall and plenty of seating around the pool. Due to it being a boutique hotel with 5 units, it was never crowded or chaotic. It was a very relaxing experience. This place a quiet oasis and a great base for exploring Coronado Beach. You are a short walk from a beautiful beach and if you want to spend the day at Casa Swell, the swimming pool and comfy loungers are very inviting. Jay, the owner, was a great host with a wealth of information. His recommendations for restaurants and activities were spot on. Looking forward to returning.

We checked out three days after arriving, and four days before our reservation ended. The owner told us if he rented our room during any of the four days remaining on our reservation, he would refund us whatever amount he collected. The owner consequently collected $185.00 for two (discounted) nights he rented our room. Then the owner sent a document requiring an agreement to not post, publish or verbally make negative comments about Casa Swell, in order to receive the refund he committed (in writing) to. Call this what you want: extortion, bribery, or holding someone hostage. However you look at it, it's repulsive and unethical. The owner's action also raises concerns about his request for prepayment for our stay, in cash. Not Venmo, Zelle, or other virtual cash instruments - he wanted, and collected from us, currency. There were both good and disappointing features of this property, but the despicable request from the owner, who is also the hands-on manager, tells the whole story of conducting business with this shady operation.

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place🤩 The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed mango juice. This is a small and quiet place with 5 rooms set in a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. Free parking right outside, and 10 minutes to walk to a large beach that you will have almost to yourself🌴☀️ The owner is very friendly and gave us useful tips about things to do in the area🌸 This is a true hidden gem💎

My Husband and I are looking at relocating and spent two wonderful weeks at Casa Swell. From the time we booked our room, thru the end of our stay Jay (owner) was an absolute pleasure to work with. At one point I had some medical issues, Jay took me along with his darling mother to a local clinic. Above and beyond! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The pool was steps outside our door and a great place to relax during the heat of the day. Rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Anything you need, just ask. We enjoyed the comfortable relaxed atmosphere. It’s a nice intimate setting where you can socialize with other guest, or have plenty of privacy. I can’t imagine a better place to experience the Coronado area. Walking distance to the beach and a short (5 minute) drive to local restaurants.He also has a wonderful masuease who comes to the property. Best massage ever!! Don’t miss that! Really can’t say enough about our experience. Highly recommend! Jay is a wealth of information and the perfect host.

Wonderful management great communication available 24/7. Excellent air conditioning, fan and Wi-Fi. Rooms very silent, outdoor kitchen, and barbecue to cook and store food supplies. Breakfast available on request. Would definitely recommend and will return.
