I came to Playa de Carmen to finish my dental work. I have to say I made an excellent choice and picking this hotel so beach luxury boutique hotel is now my absolute favorite!! The food is amazing. The staff is amazing. I was injured at work and had to came into Mexico on crutches because I had an appointment!! I Was absolutely treated like a princess I will sure be back. Just like a block and a half away all the shops and the restaurants are like less than a block away. Everything is right here. Careful - building with construction right in front that woke us up every morning. The hotel is not well isolated so bring earplugs if you don’t want to be woken up at 6:30 am. This definitely did not feel like a 5 star hotel. The look and feel was a little older than the pictures and missing a basic amenity such as a blow dryer. The toilet also has a clear glass divider between the sink which was unecessary and quite dangerous as when I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I walked right into the glass divider. The AC also broke down in the middle of one night which woke us up with a loud noise that sounded like gunshots. Someone came in and repaired it the next day. Otherwise the cleaning staff did an amazing job everyday, provided clean sheets and towels, cleaned the floors, and left the room smelling great. The location is also amazing. Not in the crazy nightlife area and right next to the beach access. Overall would recommend but don’t expect a 5 star hotel, feels more like a 3.5.

It’s a cute property with a great location. Even though it’s in the heart of everything property was quiet. Beds and pillows could be better.

DO NOT stay at this hotel. Upon check in we proceed to the room. After opening the door the smell of mold was so strong and over powering. Air conditioning did not work. The faucet had NO RUNNING WATER. Shower glass was full of stains and had not been cleaned. Horrible experience with the staff as they could not speak English. Did not stay in the room for longer then 10 minutes and was still charged for 3 nights with no refund. STAY AWAY!!! I have videos... Does anyone know how to upload?

Right off 5th ave. And far enough away for the major night clubs so your not up all night from the music

Very friendly staff. No safety box in room. Breakfast includes our reservation, but it don't work at all. Breakfast time is 7-12. First morning we went 7:10 and there was no lights or staff serving breakfast. We asked guard about it and waited it 45 min. Second morning same thing. 8 o'clock no lights or staff. 9 o'clock nothing, and we asked guard about it. Then we waited 40 min and again asking guard about it. Waiting time for breakfast 2 hours from 8-10. I really hope that tomorrow morning I don't have to wait anymore.

The hotel was in a great location. The room was spacious and clean, and the balcony looked into an atrium, although the music from the main floor would echo up in the morning, and it was quite loud. Beach/pool towels were already in the room, which was very convenient. On the downside, we were not able to get hot water in the shower.

Staff is nice and tries their best but unfortunately this Property isn’t anywhere near a 4 star hotel. Inside there is no a/c in any area aside from your room, extremely hot all the time/ the room itself isn’t up to date and has stains all on the furniture and they didn’t have small face towels, barely any toilet paper. We had to switch rooms. Nobody really speaks English so be prepared to struggle A LOT! The language barrier can cause a lot of headaches when it comes to pricing and paying, they get you to spend more. Hotel is older and in underdeveloped area, it’s construction across the street so the walking can be a bit tough. Would not recommend this hotel.

I traveled with my partner last friday and our first night in the hotel was horrible. I took a shower and our whole room got flooded. Management switched us to a different room but I was not happy about it. Management stated that to they received a previous complaint about this room. My partner and I had to pack again all of our staff and move everything to the new room. The following day we decided to go to Isla mujeres all day and when we came back around 8pm my partner noticed our safe was open. Money was missing from our safe but thank god our documents were safe. I will recommend not to stay in this hotel and look for something else around the Area. I learned my lesson and wont ever stay here again.

First time in Playa del Carmen and this place was awesome! Close to the beach, and close to the shops. Excellent service from the staff. The hotel, itself, was very modern. Room was really nice, pool area, so relaxing. The breakfast was amazing, would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous, unpretentious, quiet, comfortable & secure, Soul Beach Boutique Hotel & Spa delivers @ an affordable price. We felt extremely looked after by all the staff; Erick, Axel, Osvaldo, Alisa, Rosalie, Felix,Hector, Aldo & ILario alllll made us feel taken care of. What a beautiful stay we had. Eight nights of being spoiled. Breakfast (we don't like to have to "hunt" for Breakfast, wherever we are) was simple & perfect,,offering familiar basics + a few Mexican specialties. We particularly liked the hours; Breakfast available until NOON every day,,bonus. Housekeeping was 5* & Front desk staff were always attentive to anything we requested. It was our Anniversary & I had messaged prior to our arrival details about it. We were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful floral & creative display in our room. Attention to detail & helpful/friendly staff totally endeared us to this 31 room Boutique Hotel. Intimate/quiet setting yet just steps away from lively & often loud 5th Avenue. EASY to get too when arriving by taxi or walksble from ADO bus (from Cancun Airport, for example) Rooftop Pool & Bar offered a real pleasant escape from alllll the "touristy" stuff going on down on 5th Ave. Bartender Erick always made sure we were looked after, yet wasn't "in our face" or pushing further drinks on us either. The owner needs to be commended on hiring such pleasant & team oriented staff; all of them were always accommodating & approachable. Perhaps a few more surfaces in our Suite to "lay things out", & maybe adding black tea options to the tea offerings @ breakfast, but even just mentioning that seems so "first world problems". & so minor. We'd definitely stay here again. We travel frequently & have experience/exposure to the "good the bad & the ugly". This little gem definitely ranks up there as one of our most comfortable accommodations. Book your stay @ Soul Beach, you'll be in good hands! Cheers, Gord Toronto, Canada

4/10 We will NOT be staying here againThis was quite the catfish hotel we stayed 5 nights. The location was great close to everything and safe, pool was nice but small. The lack of cleanliness was absolutely horrible from pink stains allover the toilet that a simple fix that no one cared to clean. When we asked for towels we were brought new ones but told they're actually not switched out every day it was every 3 days ( GROSS) Bedding wasn't changed daily just made up. No coffee machine or cups in the room. The water pressure is no existent at all, There's no hair dryer, the AC is weak. We asked for hot water at the bar downstairs and they gave it to us we asked another night and someone else said they didn't have any, clearly they did we had it before. There's a big disconnect with the staff half were great and friendly half were not helpful at all. The rating here is way off, I don't recommend at all there's way better places to stay.

Nice budget hotel. Good value for money. The only issue was wifi which was spotty and made it hard to work remotely. Bandwidth was not sufficient for Zoom meetings.
