Booked Epic Member with a Penthouse suite and firstly the good part is the beach pool and multiple restaurants. Other than that you just start complaining after the honeymoon phase of the first 2 days. Our room flooded multiple times when it rained (sliding glass doors just leak through in every room) and the staff were notified immediately and didn’t send someone to clean the mess for multiple hours both times. Writing this review in the room as puddles surround me. Our “butler” hector is a great guy but man they don’t care that this stuff happens to you; all they did was take off our expenses for the trip (1 spa, Marley coffees, any extra purchases) which equaled our to about 450$ which is practically nothing compared to the inclusive room costs. So what would they have done if we didn’t do any of that? No idea because they refuse to refund any inclusive purchases even if someone canceles months in advance btw because we had that happen. Next up the bartenders are rude and poor like crap, I bartended in college and 3/4 full cup of anything is a sin, most of the young bartenders didn’t even know how to make a margarita. Spa is a separated hydroplung room for men and women so my parents didn’t like that experience and mom had paint chips floating in the cold plunge. Overall the room is the worst part, no hot water in my parents room but scolding hot water in my room, no water pressure in the sink in my room but water pressure in my parents sink, tv’s barely work, the rooftop hot tub had paint in it from the obvious repainting that recently happened, and the hot tub leaked out the side onto the rooftop if you drained it. So pretty much if your cool with staying in a mediocre room with okay amenities then your looking at the right place. Go to anywhere else imo, not worth the money.

Went to the resort for a wedding and it was amazing! Best food that I have ever had at any resort! I love the restaurant choices and the food quality. Not your typical resort! The rooms were spacious. The resort had great amenities, a nice spa and helpful staff. I can’t wait to go back!

We have just returned from our 6th visit to The Fives, travelling with a family of 13, 8 adults, 5 children-6 month to 5 years old. We were located in 2 , 2 bdr. unit building 8. Our butler Sebastian was amazing he dealt with all our requests including baby equipment in a timely and efficient manner, a true gem of a gentleman. The restaurants , food quality in all was top notch, we did not have one bad meal, only issue was with a couple of the little ones who are picky eaters, there was not a lot of options for them, but having said that they did not go hungry. Our favourite restaurant Italian, French and Mexician. The refresh of the Mexican restaurant creates a great atmosphere. The wait staff at the Italian restaurant are true professionals, Antonio May, Carlos Pationo and Raul, thank you for such attentive service to such a large group, you all made our night. The beach is beautiful, great swimming, it is cleaned consistently so we had no seaweed issues, the water is crystal clear, with some great snorkling under the pier. We did get a Bali bed which is perfect to keep the little ones out of the sun. Roberto our Beach Butler was so friendly and always stopped to ask if we needed anything. Always with a friendly smile and stopped to say hi even if we weren't in his section.. Thankyou again for your help during the week. We all were able to take sometime off to enter the spa and enjoy an amazing massage. The ambience of the spa is relaxing and tranquil, I would highly recommend it. Migielina was my therapist, one of the best massages I have ever had! Last I want to thank Pedro in the Prestige office, I cannot get over the customer service you provided. We were overwhelmed and very much appreciated that you understood what we were looking for in our family trip and helped us to create some amazing memories. Again thank you so much, your are a true benefit to the Prestige office and to The Fives. I would overall recommend this resort for families there is a lot of outdoor spaces to hang out, the Plaza has also been revamped to create a great spot to hang out in the evenings. The do have entertainment but it can be low key, to be honest with the little ones we were in bed by 11! Only disappointment the Sky bar, it is a beautiful space that could be so much more but basically remains empty and under-utilized. It would be a great late night spot or a romantic area for an evening drink.

Patricio, bartender beside the taco lunch bar is amazing! Best bartender at the resort. I had my own cup and he meticulously cleaned it and served me the best margarita with premium liquor. Awesome guy, so quick and efficient. That's why I keep telling my friends to go to the Fives and experience the difference. They hire the best employees. I think that Patricio has worked there for 6 years. Great resort. I will be back next year looking for this great experience again, and the next year, and the next year!

I come every year with my company and I love the adult pool section of this hotel. Special shout out to Raul the Adult pool waiter. Always was there with a new drink for me and with a great smile. See you soon.

This resort was a blast! Food was amazing, resort was squeaky clean, infinity pool was beautiful, staff was friendly all over the resort, and the resort itself is gorgeous. I was there to teach Zumba®️ and STRONG Nation™️ through NRG2GO for the week and it was a blast! The entertainment team was great I’m helping me set up and participating in my classes. This was our first trip to Mexico, and we were extremely happy with our experience at The Fives. From the moment we arrived we were treated with such great care and kindness. The staff is by far what makes this place great. The amenities and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Some of the buildings and areas need a little love but if you’re looking for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation you won’t be disappointed. We had the great pleasure of working with Berenice who helped us from day one. She was absolutely outstanding! She went way above and beyond to ensure our family’s stay was something to be remembered. Not only that but we stayed there during Valentine’s Day and she helped to purchase flowers for my wife off site for me to be able to surprise my wife with after an awesome couples spa experience. Berenice was extremely sweet and thoughtful and was one of the main reasons we had a great experience. We had a few billing concerns as we were ending our stay and she took the time on her day off to help get things sorted out. I hope that management realizes what an asset she is to the establishment and recognizes her for the dedication she has to her job and customers. We are already looking at a future return to this resort!

The Flavors restaurant was AMAZING! Adriana and the other hostesses went above and beyond. I am vegan and they always made sure I had something to eat. The chefs went out of their way to make me main dishes that were vegan, instead of just telling me what I could eat at the buffet. The food they made was delicious and the friendliness of staff made this my favorite restaurant!

The resort it’s self is immaculately clean, and the staff very friendly on the whole, we had a swim up room which was amazing, however our guest team in our block 17, were ok, they didn’t go out of their way to be particularly friendly, which was a shame. I’m writing this review after returning from holiday and being discharged from hospital after contracting dengue fever whilst there. I have been incredibly poorly. There is apparently an increase in dengue fever along the riviera maya, so I would advise severe caution, and the hotel should have more stringent advice to guests about mosquitoes and the risk of dengue fever on check in, in my opinion. Also the overall standard of the evening food was very poor, we ate in all of the restaurants and overall there was good service, but none of them could be classed as high quality, the menus are limited, and the food is not that of a high standard restaurant. Although the breakfasts and lunches were good. In all the food was the most disappointing aspect of the holiday.

We stayed at the Fives residences during the first week of May. It was our second time there; the first being in 2017 when it was completely under Karisma. There are many more positives than negatives, but the negatives are important considerations. Positives: Staff/Serve is exceptional. The rooms/housekeeping are second to none. The villa ambassador we had was very professional and always available. The outdoor food was very tasty and plentiful. The man- made breakwater provides an outdoor-like swimming pool in the ocean which gives you lots of areas to swim free of seaweed which is a huge problem at every resort. The entertainment was very good. The on- site activities were second to none. I would highly recommend Yvan at the Scuba Dive Shop who is a master diver and great teacher and guide. My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Negatives: If you like the beach as we do, then you must know there is not much refuge from the sun. There are practically no umbrellas for the regular resort guests and are only for the Presige members. The only shade is under tress and as the sun moves, you are exposed. This in itself is the single most important resort feature for us since we typically spend all day at the beach while at these resorts. The restaurant A La Carte meals we really very average and was a huge disappointment since we were there in 2017. If you are looking for an eating experience this is not the place. The outdoor food was plentiful and consisted of everything such as pizza, ribs, tacos, burgers, and much more and was by far much better than the restaurant food. There is a lack of staff in the restaurants as well.

This place was not good. We paid a lot of money for a 2 room Penthouse Villa for our family of 4 for Spring Break and it was a total disappointment. We had issues with our room, our bathtub, room service, check in, check out. You name it. Complete cluster. Examples below: - It took 2hrs + on 2 occasions to get a white wine delivered to us, so we could enjoy our roof top veranda and then when they finally came, they brought merlot and champagne. Neither of which were white wine. Still charged us. -We were supposed to have in room breakfast included with our package (Platinum Package), still charged us. -No pool side snacks available for kids or adults unless you bought your own in the little hotel bodega. These snacks were not included in the all inclusive. Quite pricy. -The check was in a separate location, which was supposed to make us feel special, but it was not well managed. They spent time asking us about the scent we wanted to have in our room, which was only a disguise to cover up the musty smell of the room. -We had a 'dedicated attendant' who was supposed to book reservations for us and help make our trip more enjoyable. She was very unresponsive and when we did get her attention, she wasn't able to help us. -I got food poisoning and missed a whole day of the vacation in bed. -The kids club was good. -The kids pool is a joke. Just a rusty jungle gym sitting in shallow water. I could go on, but you get it. We met some people who had been a few times and had great experiences, but we did not. All we got was a lot of excuses in broken English. I would not recommend this place. The website visuals are not accurate. They must be 10+ years old. I would rate it as a 3-3.5 star resort, so if you go, lower your expectations.

pro: overall the hotel is very nice, clean and relaxing. This is an elevated all inclusive resort. The food is great, the surroundings well taken care off, the staff (except for the front desk), very caring and friendly con: we had booked the 1 bedroom penthouse suite and it was very disappointing. The chaise lounges came without cushions, the Jacuzzi was not working properly and except for a rusted grill and a table with some chairs there was nothing on the roof top. It looked depressing. We complained 6 times to the front desk and 2 days before our departure the Jacuzzi was filled with water and working. The day before we left we finally received the cushions for the lounges. Booking the penthouse was a waste of money I don't want the lack of support and professionalism from the front desk take away from the rest of the property. Everyone else was very friendly and the hotel is beautiful. Just don't waste your money on a special room. You will not be able to enjoy it.

Just returned from having a lovely time at this hotel, it was amazing to see monkeys daily roaming the hotel grounds. The rooms are a nice size, nice decor and clean. The staff are all great and very helpful. The evening entertainment is very good but finishes by far too early all over by 10pm would have been nice if it had gone on a little later maybe 11ish. The food was also to a high standard having many restaurants to explore and no limit to how many you can visit. Now for the negatives although minor. The poolside and sun beds. Sun beds were not allowed to be reserved in the mornings, which I entirely agreed with, although it would be nice if a sign could be erected by the poolside to advise this as on numerous mornings towels and personal belongings were removed from beds which did cause a problem and in fact disagreements with the staff. If you are looking for a full day of sunshine this is not the hotel for you, there is only one section of the poolside that gets the sun all day and this only has 8 beds also ALL sun beds on the beach are under palm trees. Lastly we witnessed some lovely weddings whilst at the hotel in fact on a daily basis, the problem which occurred with this was sunbeds were removed and areas kept free to cater for wedding parties. If the hotel is going to accommodate weddings this should not be done at the expense of families who have also paid to stay at the hotel.

Bani was an amazing yoga and Pilates instructor! Juan from Arezzo (the Italian restaurant) was outstanding - great service and personality. Giovanni (he is the head of the Ambassadors), went over and above for us in everyway. There were 12 of us, so it was not easy to accommodate all of us for dinners, spa experiences and Bali beds, but he made it made it happen - he went over and above!! The bartenders at Cantina 1910 and the bar in the corner near Love Pizza are the best! They will create whatever your palate enjoys. They use specialty infused simple syrups, smoke, fruits and herbs in such a delicious way. There is a small restaurant on the beach (I don't know the name) off to the north end of the property (walk past the hamburger stand). They serve fresh fish (ceviche) dishes. They also have delicious guacamole and avocado items, tostadas and hummus options. It was so good - and not very busy because it was off to the side. Casa de Rosa is an optional and awesome experience. It is $75 pp. It starts with a tequila tasting on Rosa's back patio/garden area. Then you move into the kitchen area to learn how to make some traditional Mexican dishes. Then you sit down at Rosa's table for a full and delicious Mexican dinner. I would highly recommend this experience. We did tip throughout our whole trip (bartenders, waitstaff, housekeeping), and it was appreciated. The property is beautiful with its natural "jungle" setting and beautiful landscaping. There were plenty of staff that were always cleaning and it showed. We loved it and we would definitely return! #NRG2GO

Where to start with this shambles.... I have 9 more days in this place too :( - We paid for a 2 bedroom penthouse suite and when we arrived we were given 2 ground floor rooms, one which floaded in the night.. the reception lady seemed to think our room she was offering was acceptable and seemed put out when I complained - sunbeds are impossible to get unless you are up at 6 putting towels down, they also try to sell bali beds.... they should rip them out and put standard ones in to ensure all guests can have somewhere to go -food has all turned up cold so far but I have to say the waiting staff are excellent - brutal security - if you have a family with teenagers then ensure they are tucked up in bed by 11... they are not allowed in the 'club' aka the tiny gin bar to dance after 11... this is simply ridiculous ! - reception and evening security are the rudest people I have ever met. They should be ashamed of there customer service skills. All the other staff are amazing -Spa is lovely but again I booked this hotel not just for the spa Avoid this hotel if you expect a sunbed, warm food, have teenagers, expect good customer service, and don't want to be charged for pretty much everything as an extra.
