Grand Hotel Serapide

We booked 2 nights, from Rome the day before traveling to Pouzouli, 25 minutes from Naples. Shame on this hotel, the Serapide, for refusing to refund our second night, when we couldn't stay. They did not have to refund, but we could not stay another night in this horrible place, and had to leave to a different hotel in a different area. We didn't know that Pouzouli had a volcanic thermal, sulphuric vent, right near the hotel grounds. It was the worst horrible stinking mess, just awful and everywhere in the whole area! We tried to get around town at night and it never got better, it made me sick! I could barely breath the suffering was so bad. Stinking like sewer gas all night, and we couldn't open the door to the deck, to get fresh air b/c it was everywhere outside! So sick to stomach that skipped breakfast, didn't eat anything from the free breakfast. Do NOT stay at this stinky, selfish mess of a hotel. Unless you're not able to smell!

Amazing views of the Bay of Pozzuoli and the Isle of Capri, comfortable rooms and incredible staff! We recently moved to Italy for my husband's job and we have been staying at this hotel while we search for a home. We enjoy the daily breakfast buffet which has a wide variety of choices such as pastries, meats, cheeses and eggs to a variety of coffees and juices. In the evening, we enjoy aperitivo time and then dinner in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant staff is always friendly, kind and very accommodating. Restaurant staff such as Jennifer and Hugo greet us with kindness, professionalism and respect. They anticipate our needs before we even express to them what our needs are, and they always have a big smile on their faces when we enter. It feels good after a long day to be greeted by them! The Chef prepares fresh and delicious food, and we look forward to seeing what will be on the menu that evening as the menu changes daily. Lastly, the staff who service our room do an impeccable job! The hotel always shines, and they are also very accommodating to our needs. We will miss everyone greatly when we finally "move" out into our new home. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay, and it is in a great location between Naples and downtown Pozzuoli.

The hotel was so amazing, staff super friendly and accommodating. But SO far out of Naples. Not sure I meant to book that or if there was a mistake because taxis were SO expensive in and out. And there really wasn’t much around.

Perfect waterfront stay on our last night in Italy. The hotel is great if you’re looking for a view with peace and quiet but there’s nothing walkable nearby. Luigi and Francesco were amazing!! Also worth noting, the airport shuttle is only available 9-5; but the front desk kindly coordinated a 4am cab pickup and even had amazing breakfast bags waiting for us!

Wonderful stay at the hotel. The sea view room had a great deck that faced the bay of Naples along with a jetted tub that was perfect after exploring! Beautiful sunset views!very accommodating and friendly.

In a dodgy looking area. My wife felt unsafe so we left and they would not credit me back.

Very misleading on Orbitz part to advertise as free shuttle. It is only available between certain hours and very limited. Hotel was great, when you type in free airport shuttle you should not have to read everything and email the hotel to determine if there is actually a shuttle. I would have gone with a different hotel, cost was almost $100.00 to get to the airport
