Hotels near Plaza Porticada in Province of Cantabria

This was a great little find! We stayed at this hotel on a Wowcher deal and couldn’t be more impressed. It’s everything you need for a couple of nights away. Room was spotless and bed were comfy! The supermarket across the road was perfect for snacks! There are plenty of nice restaurants in the local area to walk too if you don’t want to go into Santander. The sports bar across the road is perfect for an afternoon beer! Easy to get into Santander … we hired a car but also got Taxis in the evening.

Just got back from a lovely 7 night stay at Hotel Bahia. We booked the holiday package through Brittany ferries. Our room on the 5th floor lovely and quite and had the most fantastic view looking out to the sea and mountains. The Room was a good size with tv, fridge with complementary water, lovely big walk in shower, could have done with a kettle but we took our own. Breakfast was included in our package plenty to choose from the buffet. The staff on reception where very helpful if you needed anything. The hotel is close to all the shops and restaurants and a bus ride to the beaches. There's restaurant and cafe bar at the hotel, the staff are all really lovely especially Britana who always looked after us in the bar (not sure if l spelt her name right) apologies if l haven't. We eat in the hotel restaurant a couple of times food a bit pricey but nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel for exploring Santander.

Brand new structure (opened at the end of July 2022) in a suburban area near the busy Santander ring roads. Spacious, colorful and very pleasant common areas, friendly and welcoming staff even if the very young age betrays on occasion the lack of experience. Room not very spacious and rather basic with the idea, as scenic as it is uncomfortable, of the shower in the center of the room and only the toilet in a very small separate space. Going to the bathroom you can experience the same experience as astronauts in a Soyuz. Good soundproofing but occasionally a few sirens are heard. The rest, however, was perfect and the beds were also comfortable. It was difficult to find it despite google: the entrance is in a secondary street where, however, there is no sign; it would be enough to add an indication to signal the entrance. We did three laps (of the ring roads and holy navigator!) Before figuring out where the entrance was. There is also a bus stop just a stone's throw away. Free private parking around and under the structure but I don't know if there is enough space for all guests. Very problematic air conditioning: there are thermostats in the room but they do not work or are not enabled, so the air is managed room x room by a panel at the reception to which we had to ask three times to turn it on, then lower it and finally turn it off x night because noisy and annoying given the small size of the room. Very negative We didn't try the breakfast but all in all it seemed like a good point of reference for a stop & go near the airport where actually there are not many alternatives in Santander while I would not recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Surely the young management has some points for improvement but the structure is of a good standard

For customers who want peace without children, they have a very wide timetable. If we choose this hotel chain is for comfort, cleaning, infrastructure, quality, treatments and thermal pool, because our daughter enjoys as much or more than adults. We will continue to visit our hotels.

The hotel is clean and spotless. Spa thermal pool opens long hour from 8am to 10pm which is very convenient. Buffet dinner €18 per person is reasonable and food is good. Breakfast is average, lack of hot dishes. The cafe bar offers some Thai cuisine. They are yummy but very small portions. Me and my husband ordered 3 main courses but were still hungry. We wanted to order the 4th course ”Style Thai beef wok” with an additional bowl of rice and we'd pay for the rice. However the waitress refused simply because a bowl of rice is not on the menu! I suggest the hotel to remove the Style Thai beef wok from the menu if they're not able to provide a bowl of rice to go with it. This is authentic Thai style of eating! Very disappointed ! The cafe service need to improve, too rigid, not customer oriented.

Great location to go to Cabárceno leerganes a very nice village and the hotel a wonderful we were already 8 years ago and repeated because the excellent quality service price improvable and if you choose the perfect breakfast also all very nice 100% recommended.

Overall this was a great hotel to stay at. The staff are very helpful. They switched rooms for us without missing a beat when we discovered that we only had one double bed instead of two singles (we are not, ahem, small people) and helped us figure out dinner plans. The room is decent - it is showing a bit of wear and tear (chips in the paint and that sort of thing) but it is clean and the beds are comfortable (very firm, which we like, but of course not everybody does). Our only complaint was the wifi - we apparently can only have two devices attached at a time, but even after ‘forgetting’ the network on my phone, I still got an error message saying I had too many devices when I tried to connect my iPad, and my husband’s phone disconnected and would not reconnect after we left the room and came back. (To be fair, we haven’t asked for help with the wifi because we feel like we’ve already been giant pains in the butt with the room switch). Other than the wifi frustration I am very pleased. It is bright, comfortable, and right across the street from the beach. I am looking forward to falling asleep to the sound of the surf.

Having stayed six times at this hotel dating back to 2015 we decided to stay again as we wished to be near Sardinero. We have not experienced any of the issues identified by previous reviewers in any of these visits, in fact quite the opposite, the staff were welcoming and the rooms were in decent shape and always large. The price was high but for the luxury of a senior suite I was prepared to pay over the odds. On arrival we were told that no senior suites were available and we had been upgraded to the Imperial Suite. Sounds good, but here the good news ended Issue 1 the whirlpool bath didn’t work. Reported to reception and was quickly attended by the maintenance man who after breaking the tile to access the motor reset fixed the problem! Issue solved - nope. It lasted 20 minutes and then tripped all the electric. On reporting to reception the switch was reset but no whirlpool bath. Ok, we’re not here for the bath and having been offered a move the next day at 12 noon we decided to stick with the room as otherwise it appeared ok. Issue 2, the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine. It wasn’t so warm anyway so we tolerated this. Issue 3, at around 5 am it became clear there was multiple pigeons roosting in the roof space above the bed therefore couldn’t sleep until they stopped making noise. Should have moved but we are quite tolerant. Issue 4, around noon time the noise from the AC was so load we had to trip the electric breaker to stop it. Again we should have moved. Issue 5, on night 2 we were again awake for a significant period because of the lift continually moving even in the middle of the night. Issue 6, on night 3 again the lift was not moving up and down almost constantly. This seems to be the overnight cleaner moving items to the storeroom, and guess where this is, next to our room 601. I politely asked receptionist to ask the cleaner to stop and she said he was going home now so it would be ok. She couldn’t move us as there were no other rooms available. On approaching the hotel director the next morning she was aware of all the issues even knowing that the lift was noisy and kept people from sleeping. I was offered a free breakfast which I refused purely because there is no soap in the toilets and this is being used by waiters and chefs to prepare and serve food. After much argument I was told they would refund me the last night stay, still not received it though. All bored by now no doubt. This hotel had deteriorated badly in the 7 years we have visited. There are so many easy fixes to make it better but nobody seems to care. Lights don’t work - replace bulbs AC noisy - stop it vibrating Bath doesn’t work - either replace the motor or borrow from another room given the Imperial suite is the best room in the house Lift - get an engineer Noise - stop the cleaner working all night making noise No soap - buy soap The list is endless, we won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else does either. Only 1 night stopover. Staff friendly. Not 100% clean. Dangerous shower floor very slippery. Need to replace awful chair in room. Easy parking.
