Quinta Maria Cortez

Our room, Alejandro, was a perfect blend of unique and eccentric. Add in the beautiful ambience and the professional but relaxed hospitality and the experience wound up being exactly what we wanted. Right on the beach in Conchas Chinas, one can stroll along the beach to zona romantica and take one's pick of many seaside tables.

When my husband and I were trying to decide what our favorite parts of our trip were, we both agreed that Quinta Maria Cortez was at the very top. The room was absolutely incredible! Each suite (from what I could tell) has its own veranda with an incredible view of the ocean, and ours (the Rafeal) opened directly into the bedroom, so we could lie on our bed with the doors open and listen and watch the waves. The location on the beach was so gorgeous, I spent hours beach combing for all the amazing shells and rocks there, and we loved hanging out there on the lounge chairs with umbrellas. A five minute walk to the left was a little beach stretch fun for swimming (there’s quite a steep decline though so the waves are strong and I wouldn’t recommend more than splashing for young children). The hotel itself is beautiful—eclectically decorated with tons of charming character. The staff are so kind and helpful, and the breakfast was so delicious—the huevos rancheros, fresh squeezed orange juice and French toast were such a treat every morning. Our bed (there were two floors in our suite, we slept in the bed upstairs) was really comfortable (although as a note on the firmer side). This review is getting very long, but just one more note to say my husband and I have two disabled children with very high support needs and it’s been almost a decade since we have been able to take a trip together, so this trip meant a lot to us and everyone at Quinta Maria Cortez made it really special. Would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone!

The Quinta Maria Cortez is a truly unique and special property. A glorious beach to explore, wonderful breakfasts and staff that are attentive a d professional. The location is very quiet but only a 15 minute walk into Puerto Vallarta if you're looking for some action! I can't wait to return. Thank you!! Liza

Another amazing stay at QMC. From its rustic, awesome style to its wonderful staff, this is one of the best places to stay in PV. On Conchas Chinas, short walks to the Malecón and great grub, the location is ideal. Firm beds. Great AC. Incredible ocean views, delicious breakfast daily and great drink choices. Highly recommend.

AMAZING. Eclectic Spanish colonial architecture and decor. Yummy breakfast served every morning. Housekeeping every day. Service is perfect, really this place is amazing. Beach out front is perfect, and has a rocky part for snorkeling! Five minutes to town. So perfect.

This was the fourth time I have stayed at Quinta Maria Cortez. This is a unique and amazing place and would highly recommend it. The staff is very attentive and always there to help you in any way possible. The beach is beautiful and secluded so you aren't dealing with vendors all day long. Only think to be a aware of is there is no elevator so you will be climbing some stairs each. Staff takes care of your luggage and setting up umbrellas and chairs on the beach for by request.

This is one of the most relaxing weeks I have ever experienced, Sara made us feel so welcome on arrival and from then ok we were in the expert hands of Erik, Govani and the whole team in the kitchen. My Coeliac allergies were noted and all meals were made gluten free… the most delicious creations of burritos, enchiladas, and omelettes all taken care to ensure all GF ingredients were used… even with the breakfast specials, chef would always modify with maize/corn tortillas to include me. The beach is fabulous and just a short walk into town. Giovanni was always there to greet us of an evening and offer a night cap! The margaritas were delicious. The rooms are kept well ensuring our home away from home felt comfortable always. What a wonderful place… we just wished we lived closer so we could return more often. We had an amazing stay. Our plans changed and we came a day early. We are so glad we did. We stayed in the Guadalupe room. The view is amazing. The bed is very comfortable. The staff were great and very helpful in getting us taxis when we went into town. Con: I am gluten free. There was not many options except potatoes, bacon and fruit. Also, there are a lot of stairs to go anywhere in the hotel. If stairs are not a problem, then this hotel is perfect.

Plenty of old world charm to this facility. The staff are wonderfully helpful: Eric, Giovani, Julian all waiters, Inez the cook and of course Sara the general manager. They made our stay wonderful. We had the bottom room which is right on the beach. Large and airy. Be mindful that there is a lot of stairs to climb when you are on the bottom. The hotel is an older building which in some areas needs attention, for example plumbing and some of the fixtures and fittings.
