We flew from Kununurra with Aviair to Savannah Lodge, staying a night and had tours both days. The pilots both days did a great job, banking over the Bungle Bungles, Lake Argyle and the Argyle diamond mine site and giving us so much information. They did a fantastic job. Both were lovely ladies, Emma and ?Renae. When we arrived we had morning tea and then went on a 4WD bus tour, with guides, Wally and Ivan, to the Domes and Cathedral Gorge, where we sat and enjoyed a delicious lunch in the cool of Cathedral Gorge. Our guides were so knowledgeable and friendly. We then went to Savannah Lodge for the night, while the day trippers flew back to Kununurra. We relaxed by the pool and bar then walked to their Sunset spot before enjoying a delicious buffet meal at the lodge. After a busy day, we went to our cabin (no ac in this remote location but a fan was provided. Night temps were quite cool.) The next day, after a great breaky, we met our tour guide, Cheryl. We were lucky enough to enjoy a private tour with this fantastic, friendly guide. We visited Stone Henge, Mini Palms walk, Echidna Chasm, and Kungkalnayi Lookout. Because there were only two of us, not a bus load, our day was more flexible, with extra pic opportunities as well. Another afternoon tea was enjoyed at the lodge before we flew back on a scenic flight to Kununurra with Emma. I highly recommend this tour of Purnululu for anyone not wanting to drive out and camp. You get to see the beauty and majesty of the park in comfort, with the benefit of seeing it all from the air, and gaining valuable knowledge from your guides.
