Old Vic Sharm Resort

One of the best hotels in Sharm Al Sheikh! Spacious and clean rooms, cleaned daily and neatly. Beautiful and spacious courtyard with an excellent pool for adults and children. Beautiful, varied and very tasty food. The cooks are great! I want to express our gratitude to Mahmoud, Asama, Mustafa and the rest of the service for their attention and respect, they work with 100% dedication. Special thanks to the hotel manager for his responsiveness! Excellent location and homely a**osphere. But there's one minus - We didn’t want to leave this hotel!!! We will definitely come back! This was our first time in Egypt and we had a great time at the Old Vic and will definitely return again. The restaurant buffet has lots of choice to suit all tastes and we had no upset tummy. The staff told us they use bottled water for ice which meant I had the ice in drinks and was fine. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We tipped at the beginning of the holiday and again at the end and this seemed to work well. The room was dated but very spacious, clean and the bedding and towels changed daily. There was a handy fridge and kettle in the room. We had plenty of mosquitos in our room and used insect repellent spray day and night and didn’t have any problems. The Wi-Fi signal didn’t reach our room but we had prepared for this and bought a sim at sharm airport and put this into an old mobile and used this as a hot spot for our mobiles, iPad and laptop. It’s advisable to take a plug board if you have several things to charge as there were few spare sockets in the room. Entertainment in the evenings was fun, including a belly dancer who came to the hotel. If you fancy venturing out and a change of food we recommend Napoli restaurant (opposite the hotel and only a couple of minutes walk away). Friendly staff and lovely fresh pizza cooked in an outside oven. There is a handy supermarket and pharmacy next to the hotel. We had very minor gripes such as beer being served in very small glasses and hot drinks served in paper cups. The positives certainly outweighed the minor negatives. Hope this helps anyone querying going to the hotel.

My family and I enjoyed the hotel very much, and I very much liked the calm and cleanliness. As for the animation staff, they are very friendly. They do their best to please the guests. They are very kind and polite. All the hotel staff are very kind and friendly, and I always stay in the same hotel.

We were given our rooms very fast and the rooms looking on the pool were fantastic .very wide ,with balcony and nice view, very clean and there response as house keeping is good.Food was very good and variable esp at Dinner.The staff at the Resturant welcome most of guests with their names very friendly and rapid response.I loved the fruits esp watermelon.The shuttle bus to the beach is very regular and on his way may drop you at old townThe barman Hassan is very friendly with all people at the pool and the lobby We really enjoyed the hotel more than 5 star for being cosy and quite

Great comfortable English style pub / restaurant. Food homely hot and good. Found this place on a recommendation by other holiday makers, glad we did as the whole area is lit up like a Chris**as tree. Next time we come to Egypt we will definitely be back again.

Good points: staff are excellent. Good pool. Not so good: rooms very tired, seems a lottery if they get cleaned. I was asked if all was good with my room by maintenance, I advised that the sink plug did not work . It worked even less after maintenance had 'fixed' it Blood on my 'new' sheets. No access for wheelchair users. Food choice was very limited, appears to be catering more for Eastern Europe than West Europe. Animation team very poor, playing very loud music is not entertainment.limited evening entertainment. Located away from the coast, lots of duel carriageways. Hotel beach is poor, it's an inlet without foot access to coast. Room cards for access do not work well. Lots of mosquitos , flies and other insects. Most guests suffered bad bites and rashes. Conclusion: for the price paid it was just about worth it. Don't expect 4*.
