Meridian Adventure Marina Club & Resort

Waisai|1.41km from Acrophora Resorts
Nestled close to Waisai and boasting a private harbor, Meridian Adventure Scuba Dive Resort & Marina offers a blend of modern comforts and convenience. Here's a closer look at what sets this resort apart: Hospitality & Cuisine: The staff's warm hospitality sets a welcoming tone, complemented by a delightful breakfast spread and a menu rich in options. Vegetarian meals are well-represented and the freshly cooked dishes, reasonably priced for a resort, make dining a pleasurable experience. The air-conditioned dining area adds comfort, yet the cool air stream might pose a risk for those sensitive to temperature changes. Location & Setting: Unlike other seafront resorts, Meridian Adventure stands apart with its private harbor view, a departure from the typical shoreline experience. Its proximity to Waisai and easy access via taxi or motorcycle offers a connection to the local town, although this proximity to the local population might pose a slightly higher risk for mosquito-borne diseases. Diving Experience: The dive crew's friendliness and proactive approach enhance the diving experience. The dive adventures, while well-organized and facilitated with high-tech diving boats, come with a higher price tag, especially when not bundled within a room package. Compared to many other resorts in the Raja Ampat area, the individual cost for dives might seem relatively expensive. The usage of top-tier equipment and the services provided by the crew justify the slightly elevated prices, but it's a factor to consider when planning a diving-focused stay. However, unlike some other resorts, the presence of fewer local guides and more Western guides might alter the experience for some divers. The amenities during diving breaks are slightly limited compared to other options in the area. Overall Experience: Positioned between two different experiences in the area, Meridian Adventure Scuba Dive Resort & Marina offers a safe and comfortable stay with good food and modern amenities. However, it differs from the serene solitude found in shorefront island resorts. The room sizes might be smaller, but they're modern, catering to those seeking a more connected, albeit less isolated, experience.

Waiwo Dive Resort Raja Ampat

Our 3 day stay was last minute due to a catastrophic fire on our original Liveaboard. We were pleasantly surprised with the resort and dive center. Definitely pay for the VIP airport pick up/ferry boat drop off. Both were busy & chaotic, but the crew had it down to a science - well worth it! The resort was rustic, carved out of the jungle on a small beach. The sounds of the birds and waves from our beach front cottage were amazing. The newer cottages to the right side of the dining pavilion are much nicer. (I’d avoid the garden view cottages.) Food was good (mostly local) plentiful with the soups being my favorite. The dive center had lockers and photo equipment room w/cubbies but we never touched our gear once we set it out. The dive boat was fast, had plenty of room and there was a guide for every 2 people. It’ll be very nice when they finish their dock. I know homestays are less expensive, but I’ve got to have a in-room toilet & hot shower. This was a great value.

A very good hotel altogether, not far from the ferry and close to everything in Waisai. Great bungalows with anything you need, very comfortable. The host is a very welcoming and kind person. I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Waisai.

Waisai Beach Hotel

Waisai is a nice town. The residents are not jaded by tourists (yet) as they see them with less frequency than other locations in Indonesia. Simply stated, they are wonderful. All the children say hello and approach often to ask your name and where you are from. Being there in the beginning of December allowed us to see the Christmas parade and train that takes children around town. Magical in so many ways as you can't help but smile when a parade such as this has Mickey Mouse and the much beloved Hello Kitty. And the train is totally lit up with lights and smiles. Beautiful. Most everyone that shows up in Waisai heads out to a resort. Many of the remainder head to home stays in nearby islands or away from town. These can be nice but we don't do well with being so contained. We did a live aboard here in Raja Ampat and then dove with Olin Dive Center in town for another week. The hotel is very situated in town as it is a short walk to the beach, is very close to the wonderful daily market, close to grocery stores and near to the dive shop. We came to stay for 4 days but stayed the week. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned. They are large, have television and provide a breakfast (included in price). Out back there are clothes lines for use. Not much English is spoken but translation apps made life easy. Staff are very nice! At a moments notice the staff set us up with the town's tourist representative (Husna) to help us out with a great deal including getting to Wayag and also seeing the Red, as well as Wilson's, bird of paradise. The hotel was less expensive than the hostel where another diver stayed. We are unsure if we will return for a third visit to Raja but if we do, we will definitely stay at this hotel again as the the place is nice and the town it is in is wonderful.
