This used to be a family owned hotel but it has changed owners. This hotel used to be the best hotel on the beach *****. It has a great position on the *****. It has a large private beach. It has big outdoor spaces. A large upstairs terrazzo. Unfortunately, the new owners either don’t have the money to maintain the hotel properly or restore the rooms (which are in need of restoration) or they don’t want to spend the money. They have done some really badly done cheap fixes. Embarrassing and a travesty. The new owners may not have good taste or ideas either. It’s obvious. They charge a lot for the rooms but the rooms are awful. It’s unfortunate. The hotel has great potential but it will not live up to its potential with these owners. The recent restaurant manager ( at least for the beachfront restaurant) is not good. Previous managers were better. To have good employees, you must pay them sufficiently.

We decided to return to Alassio for our second honeymoon, 40 years after the first one. Alassio was also the favorite holiday destination of my parents because of its romantic center full of narrow lively little streets and the beautiful scenery. We remembered having seen the hotel from a distance in the past and visited the website. We were attracted by the info regarding the terraces and the cuisine and decided to book. On arrival we were struck by the design of the lobby and the restaurant and by the view on the bay. You could easily see that great investments have been made to create the interior. On the outside there is still some work to do. The reception staff was very friendly and made us feel at home instantly. Our room with a nice balcony and sea view was good but not spectacular. The airco worked very well and the room was kept clean very neatly. The private beach was extremely well managed by a knowledgeable lady with 30 years of experience. For us the biggest asset of the hotel is the kitchen staff and its chef Yari, a real artist. Since the hotel is located a bit outside of the very center, the surrounding is more quiet, especially when you book a room on the seaside. But to get to the very center it only takes a 5-10 minutes walk along the beach.

My husband loved this hotel. I thought the lack of art and seating in the Panorama Balcony room was dismal. It's just like the photos. Gray. One desk chair, two oddly uncomfortable side chairs. The room has two beautiful, built-in closets with drawers. Gorgeous, old wood. Lots of storage space. A narrow bathroom, with new shower and lovely window. We stayed in the older part, I imagine. There are rooms much better decorated than the Panorama Balcony room. Hallways looked like a hospital. Be sure you choose the right room for you. Our room was large, and the balcony divine. I had a lovely view of the sea. We kept the windows open, and slept to the sound of the waves. This hotel has excellent bar service. Sunday night there was jazz duo. Expensive drinks, with delightful complimentary snacks. It's a large hotel. There was a party for the local election with gorgeous people coming and going. The kitchen is run by a new chef who earned a Michelin star in Genoa. Service and food quality reflect his expertise. The beach and the neighborhood are superb. Plenty of food, bar choices within a short walk. The hotel seems to cater to well off Italian and French patrons, with a splash of German speakers. I would stay there again.

Nydelig hotell rett på standen. Her er en god lett frokost inkludert og solsenger på Strand og ved basseng. Alt er ryddig og pent og kort gåavstand til alt. Anbefaler også restaurant på hotellet.

La struttura è data, ma ha ricevuto una rinfrescata con diversi lavori di ristrutturazione.
Ottimi nell’ingresso, ristorante, bar. Un po’ meno nelle camere, belle ma un’attenzione maggiore hai piccoli particolari avrebbe fatto un’ulteriore differenza.
Ottimo il servizio di tutto il personale.

Sono stata a festeggiare il mio compleanno ad Alassio e ho scelto l'albergo per la posizione. L'albergo é non all'altezza di un 4 stelle, mobili rovinati, tutto terribilmente fané, ma l'esperienza peggiore é la reception: c'è una responsabile sgradevole e maleducata che non sa come relazionarsi con i clienti, consiglio vivamente di sostituirla. Solo la spiagga con la simpatica bagnina si salva. Speriamo che presto ci sia un ricambio. Andate nel frattempo altrove

Abbiamo soggiornato presso la struttura l’ultimo weekend di settembre. Camere datate e sanitari vecchi. Mancanza di pulizie e acqua fredda. Attenzione alle camere vendute come “Triple” sono semplici doppie con l’aggiunta di una brandina!! Dopo una mattinata di diluvio le camere erano allagate pur avendo tutte le finestre chiuse. Inizialmente ci è stato offerto di cambiare camera, ma dopo aver chiesto in reception ci è stato detto che non potevamo. Ridicolo. Atteggiamento dello staff in reception non rispettoso in confronto del cliente (a parte la ragazza Alessia e il ragazzo giovane) Per quanto riguarda la prima colazione molto buono, molta scelta e staff gentile. Pranzo e cena al ristorante della spiaggia La Marina buono ma caro. Spiaggia ottima e la signora Jackie gentilissima!!

Bella posizione nel caratteristico Borgo Coscia, vicino alla Cappelletta, uno dei luoghi-simbolo di Alassio; bella spiaggia, pulita e ben tenuta; ottimo ristorante sulla spiaggia, con un bel dehor dove spira sempre una brezza piacevole anche nelle ore più calde e personale molto cortese. I guai arrivano non appena si mette piede nella struttura dell’hotel vero e proprio: già la scala di accesso e le pur bellissime terrazze presentano pavimento macchiato e foglie ovunque, capisco bene che i pini ad ombrello rilascino i loro aghi, ma basta passare una scopa con una certa frequenza, inoltre le macchie appiccicose sotto ai tavolini non sono certo colpa dei pini. Piscina anch’essa poco pulita, non invitante e sensazione generale di trascuratezza in ogni ambiente, dalla reception all’ascensore, finché non si arriva alla camera. E qui si rimane basiti, perché sembra di fare un viaggio indietro nel tempo. In un “Grand Hotel” a quattro stelle ci si aspetta di trovare almeno un bagno decente, ma non è questo il caso. Peccato davvero, perché la struttura ha un’enorme potenzialità, chissà che magari in futuro riescano a sfruttarla nel modo migliore.
