Elmhurst Hotel

It did the job for a night. Stayed after Reading festival, it was not clean at all. Unwashed duvet and the room had not been cleaned. If you need something cheap then I would recommend it but don't expect a lot

Extremely dirty room. Dirty blanket, hair everywhere. Gross. I spent three nights there and I won't recommend to anybody to spend even one. The WC never flushed correctly, leaving the dark water there and, were like a 10 time flush needed! Horrible. At least the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were not. I won't go there back ever!

It is an old hotel but everything is fine. The receptionists were kind and friendly.

Excellent staff, great breakfast and lots of free parking.

I have to say the staff make this place and for what you pay the facilities are on point

Absolutely disgusting,everything filthy,should not be open to the public..it needs health and safety inspectors to close it down...never seen anything like it..please do not book here...youve been warned!!!

I was booked in here with my son for an overnight stay for our visit to Reading. I walked into reception to see wallpaper hanging off walls, a musty smell, and the strong, overpowering stench of cigarettes. From the first second, I knew I probably wouldn't stay but felt it polite to at least view the room - I wish I hadn't! It's actually difficult to put in words how bad this place was. The main door was unlocked. The wardrobe door was falling to pieces and had someone else clothes inside. The toilet had feaces and urine around the seat and more worryingly up the wall ( maybe they ate here too)! I wished I was wearing a hazmat suit at this point! We at least had to check the beds to see how bad they compared to the rest of dump. My son pulled back his duvet to inspect, and there was a crusty white stain inside. My bed had a clear redish stain. More apparent was the wheeze I had developed from the 5 minutes of being in that cigarette stench. I was back downstairs checking out within 5 minutes. I explained that it would be risking my health to stay there as I was already wheezing. The man didn't argue but he also didn't offer an alternative, a refund or even an apology - just shrugged his shoulders and took my key as though it's expected. The photos speak for themselves! Avoid this place, for your own health and safety.
