Booked a 1 bedroom deluxe cabin w/sea view, no kitchen. What we got was actually a room that was part of a small building(like a town house row). Not really a problem so all ok. However there was a very fishy smell in the room that despite leaving the windows and doors open for a few hours, did not go away. We put it up to the drying cod that is prevalent everywhere in the area during early June. Following morning, still bad odour - only inside - not outside. After investigating, they found dead fish below the room. Without any prompting, they immediately transferred us to a 2 bedroom cottage with a better view, so kudos to them. There are a few things that need to be addressed. - we stayed there for 4 nights and to our surprise, they did not have daily room service. We were never told about this so had to sleep on the same sheets and use same towels. Every other day would have been acceptable. - self serve laundry room had 4 machines but the room, sink and the machines were not clean to say the least. - outside areas were unkempt, with ****s and grass growing uncut. But this seems to be common throughout the area. - cod drying racks, while a feature of the area, didn’t have to be literally within 50 feet of the rooms/cottages. Certainly by choosing to stay in a Rorbuer, you want the authentic feel but that doesn’t mean cleanliness should be compromised.
