I am currently staying at this hotel, a family holiday, all adults. I’ve been in numerous hotels, on an all inclusive basis, and visited the hotel next door to the Avra Beach a few years ago. And wanted to give this hotel a try. Here are my thoughts so far. A lot of good points, but also silly, easy fixed negatives. Reception staff are friendly enough on approach to desk, helpful and have quickly fixed a couple of minor issues in our room. However, coming in and out of area/ main door, you are never acknowledged with a hello, or even a smile. There always seem to be 2 or 3 of them huddled round the same pc screen. The hotel is kept impeccably clean by an army of cleaners, however, toilets in public area do not seem to be cleaned or bins emptied during daylight hours. Also, toilets in reception are as expected decor wise, but other public toilets seem unorganised (hand dryer behind door ?) and are all a bit unfinished as all just concrete walls with no flooring or tiling anywhere. Saying that, no shortage of toilets and well placed throughout hotel. Rooms. We have 4 rooms in our family, 3 in the new extension which are open plan, slightly cramped but pleasant and comfortable. However, there are no hooks for towels anywhere, very little hangers (4) and not a lot of drawer space. The 3 in new part are all overlooking a roofed courtyard with no outdoor privacy and no natural light. Also, no hanging areas for any wet towels , swimsuits etc. One room is located in the older area of hotel. This room is more spacious, has all the necessary storage and towel hooks etc, but is very tired in decor . We did ask to change to sea view, this is at a cost of 32 euros per night. Too expensive in our eyes. Food / Drink: The food choice is without a doubt, very good, plentiful and delicious. Although, as some other reviews state, sometimes lukewarm. Drinks are local based alcohol and juices, equally as nice and servers always very pleasant. However! The dining room, is very, very busy and the acoustics when busy, are horrible. Very loud, lots of clattering and somehow, not very organised with layouts of dishes. Most definitely not a relaxing area to eat, and unfortunately this ruins the experience of the delicious food. Also, there is no outside dining area attached to main restaurant, so no getting away from the noise. The bar snack selection offered between meals and until midnight is local Greek fayre, again delicious . The pizza & Italian beach bars are a godsend. A completely different a**osphere and excellent alternative to the noisy dining room, it’s open daily 11.30-17.30 and well worth a visit. Swimming pool is well located and not overly busy due to the hotel being located on a superb shingle beach. Sun-loungers are plentiful, we have never had an issue either by the pool or the beach, but it is still early in the season so this might be different mid summer. The hotel operates a strict “no towel on the lounger to reserve” policy. It’
