Finally vacation again after 2 long Corona years - that was the plan. The choice fell on the Kolymbia Beach Hotel, the pictures looked good and the reviews were also right. My opinion/experience: Location: The location was perfect for our intention. Located relatively in the middle of the slightly less windy east coast, the location was the perfect starting point for exploring the island. From Kolymbia everything could actually be reached within a maximum of 1.5 hours by rental car. Of course, Kolymbia is a tourist area with a lot of hotels, but it is quite relaxed there, not too crowded and designed more for relaxation than for partying. A place or a bay further in Faliraki you have more of the Ballermann flair, so it was very pleasant. Grounds: The grounds of the hotel were well maintained and clean. The pool was sized more for cooling off than swimming, but that's fine. The beach section belonging to the hotel theoretically offered enough space for everyone with umbrellas and loungers. What was surprising, of course, and what we would have liked to have been informed about in advance, was the fact that, despite being all inclusive, the sunbeds on the hotel beach were supposed to cost €5 per day and sunbed. We didn't know that from any vacation before, so we didn't do it at all and preferred to walk a kilometer further on the beach - you had to pay there, but the reef there offered much better snorkeling opportunities, it was much quieter and you didn't get it annoyed by wild entertainers. Otherwise, the island offers so many beaches that you don't want to spend every day on the same beach anyway. Room: The room was relatively clean, the bed was very comfortable in my opinion, unfortunately there were only 2 sockets in the whole room (although one of them was for the TV), there weren't any in the bathroom - it wasn't very practical. Also storage space or drawers or similar were rather scarce. The safe was free of charge, there was also a small fridge, but it was past its prime and wasn't refilled - with all inclusive they wouldn't have gone bankrupt if they had at least refilled a bottle of water when needed. The air conditioning worked well. The balcony was big enough. However, the booked sea view was a joke. 80% of the view went directly over to the main bar, if you leaned from the balcony you could also see the sea, but I understand sea views to be different. Our room (102) was also located right next to the utility room, so sleeping without earplugs was out of the question: you were woken up from 7:00 a.m. at the latest by the rumbling of the cleaning trolley, in the evening due to the immediate vicinity of the bar it wasn’t before 11:30 p.m. due to the volume to think about sleep, let alone leave the window open, because among other things the staff had smoked nearby and everything else would have moved in with us. Food: The food was relatively a
