Hotel Grifo

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. We had a family room with access to the terrace which was lovely. The room was basic but perfectly fine for us, it was cleaned every day, the small fridge was really useful for drinks. Breakfast was good, with a selection of coffees, juices, breads, eggs, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, pastries. The hotel is in a great location, close to the Colosseum, plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, a short walk to Cavour Metro station and easily walkable to most tourist attractions. The staff were absolutely amazing. On check-in Donatella gave us some recommendations for places to visit and restaurants. Each morning Alen provided us with helpful tips, a map and made sure we had a good plan to get the most out of our day. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay again on our next visit to Rome.

Staying at the hotel was a very pleasant experience! The hotel is placed in a very convenient location. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk from the Colosseum and a 3-5 minute walk from Cavour Metro station. You can easily walk to most tourist attractions without needing transportation. They serve a good breakfast. The staff were also very helpful! Each day, they made sure we had a good plan and provided additional tips to enhance our experience. Alen and Donatella were amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Rome!

We had a wonderful four night stay at this hotel. The service from every member of staff was excellent; they all make the hotel what it is. The location is ideal and there are many excellent restaurants and bars close by. The room was basic, but spotlessly clean and an ideal base. The breakfast which was included was tasty and set us up for the day. We hope to return to this hotel one day. Thank you to all the staff for hosting us.

Check-on was smooth and useful map, dining & sight-seeing advice provided. First impressions of the Quadruple Room were not great - very small ans tired looking - but it turned out to be adequate and was cleaned & made-up properly each day. There was a seni-private roof terrace adjoining which was nice. Breakfast selection was good…..juices, coffees, various breads, cheese, ham, egg, muffins, yoghurts, fruit. Location was great, 10 minutes to colosseum, 20 mins to Trevi, 20 mins to Rome central station, 5 minutes to Cavour metro station, 30 min walk to Vatican.

The location of this hotel is wonderful and the staff attentive. My daughter's leg was sliced badly by a dropped beer bottle at Trevia Fountain and the staff was terrific in assisting with her care. My only reservation with giving a five star review is that the breakfast offerings were very limited and for some reason, the coffee machine dispensed lukewarm coffee. Otherwise, this is a great location for walking Rome.

We stayed in room 20 for 4 nights. It has space for 3 people, a queen bed plus a single. The room and hotel in general were extremely clean. The room has a small refrigerator, a safe, a place to hang clothes on hangers (but not a closed closet) and small bathroom. The shower would be tight for a large person but we had no problem, and the water did *not* escape from the shower to wet the whole bathroom the way some hotels showers do. There is an air conditioning unit which worked but had limited range in terms how how cool the room might get (not sure about heat). Breakfast is included. There was cereal, yogurts, eggs, sausages, coffee, tea, juices. I believe they offered other cooked options but we did not partake so i don’t really know. The day we left, we stored our luggage in their luggage room and they were kind enough to refrigerate some food for us that we were planning on taking home. The front desk is manned 24x7 and they ask that you drop your key at the desk when you leave the hotel for security purposes. The front desk was very helpful with providing maps with directions and calling cabs. The hotel is located in central Rime, about 10 minutes from the Roma Termini train station, 10 minutes from piazza Venezia and Trajan’s column as well as the victor emmanuel monument, about 20 minutes from the Jewish ghetto, and 15 minutes from the trevi fountain. There is a lift in the hotel that handles max 2 people. There are many bars and restaurants in the streets surrounding the hotel, and we felt very safe walking around after 10 pm. The street the hotel is located in is a small one-way street, and could be a little loud if the windows are open, due to the bars and restaurants nearby. We would certainly stay here again.
