We just returned from Rome and stayed at the Sonder Cloister/Coliseum, and had a terrible experience there. The apartment was poorly maintained, looked nothing like the photos, had no smoke detectors in the bedrooms, and was very difficult to gain access to. The real icing on the cake was the apartment door could be opened from the outside without a key or code! Other specifics: Clothes dryer didn’t work, paint in VERY bad shape, bathroom tile was painted over and paint was badly peeling, lamp broken, master bed didn’t have a door (just a curtain), and we spent about 20 minutes getting into our unit since the access codes didn’t work. When locked out later, I realized you could just turn the handle and the door opened without a code. Sketchy! We weren't comfortable staying there, and checked out the next day. We fully expected an apology and a refund from Sonder for the unused portion of our stay, but no such luck. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
