Hotel Oxford

First of all the staff are really nice and couldn’t really complain about them. Now the negatives this is certainly not a 4* hotel more of a 2*. The pictures on the website are very misleading which shouldn’t be allowed. We stayed in room 222 very basic with no facilities to make a drink in your room but does have a fridge that is stocked up we didn’t use the drinks in there but did buy our own and put them in. The room was very basic and had 2 single beds pushed together which really annoys me and find very uncomfortable some of the lights also did not work . The air con / heating switch did not work either. Wardrobe to hang clothes with a few hangers in with 2 draws. There was a small tv on the wall not that we watched it very much. Bathroom was ok and just ok not great if you’re on the larger side for the shower as this is very small. Breakfast was ok for a quick snack and drink before heading out it was continental with drink machines. We where woken at 6am everyday with the noise from the truck outside delivering to the hotel so very noisy when unloading full metal cages. Stairs in the hotel are not great not wide enough and very steep there is one lift for the hotel which you can get two people in at a time. We didn’t complain at the hotel as reading the reviews the rooms were all the same. I did contact easy jet before we went to try to change the hotel which they said we could Do but every hotel was full the only option we had was to change the destination which was not an option. Hotel is around 30 min stroll to the main attractions. First time in Rome and would go back but definitely not to this hotel. We booked through easy jet and for the price we payed I was very disappointed email sent to easy jet.

We checked in here as part of our 4 night family trip to Rome with BA Holidays. We rang BA, who after an explanation about the condition of the place, were happy to move us the following day. Just don't do it. Very tired to say the very least. Broken, mis matched and knackered furniture. Put- you- up beds, advertised as a quad room. They couldn't even give us a second (flat) pillow!!! Just avoid

The rooms were very small with no tea or coffee facilities, but the shower and bathroom were in good condition and clean. The lift only goes to the second floor so beware if you are not able for a lot of stairs. Breakfast was plentiful, but a bit shambolic in organisation and another coffee machine is really needed as there were queues. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The location is superb - a safe area, plenty of lovely restaurants within walking distance. A 15 minute walk to the Spanish steps 30 minutes to the centre of Rome, but you could get a taxi from a nearby rank at the American embassy that would take you wherever you needed and the prices were reasonable. The rooms were cleaned every day we did not eat in the restaurant at night. It was very small and not particularly inviting looking. It is more of a three star hotel really definitely not four.

Well situated in a nice area, lots of restaurants nearby, safe and easy to walk to Spanish steps or Barbarini to get taxi, metro or continue walking through the historic centre (30 mins walk). Rooms were cleaned daily, reasonable standard but a bit small, no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. ( Lift only goes to floor 2 if stairs are an issue ). Good shower and bathroom recently upgraded. Breakfast fine, but another coffee machine needed and layout very shambolic. Staff nice and it was cleaned regularly. More a 3.5 star really but would recommend as was pleasant stay for a city break. Did not try the restaurant, got a sense it was not used much.

Nice hotel. Our room was modern and spotless. 3 day trip. Cleaned every day. Helpful reception staff helped arrange our taxis each day. We opted to pay for the buffet breakfast each morning. It was pleasant and plentiful. Good mix of warm and cold food and lovely pastries. We ate out every day so did not have any other meals there. Location was close to most attractions. Walking distance if you enjoy walking or a reasonably priced taxi if it rained the entire time like it did for us 🙄. Friends we travelled with did not get as spacious or newly renovated room, however theirs was clean and well maintained. We would go back, and would specifically ask for the same room again.

We got "upgraded" to an apartment which consistently failed to provide hot water. The Hotel's "4 star" response was simply to wait for the hot water tank to refill. We never once had enough hot water for one bath let alone two. We've never had such an experience in a 4 star hotel!

Really friendly and professional front of house staff. Room basic, * no tea & coffee facilities. * not enough plug sockets. * 2 single beds that slide apart * thin sheets no duvet * Noisiest street - 1am emptying bins * Lorries delivering through the night * Don’t get a room on the front of the hotel as you will get very little sleep. And unfortunately we only had breakfast once as there was a Cockroach running around under the tables. Won’t go back…!!!! Pay a little more and get better.!! the Hotel is 'classic' and at first you feel like - its a little old/ outdated. OMG then you meet the staff - all EXTREMELY Helpful and FRIENDLY. Luca & Gabrielle at Reception are very helpful with local knowledge where to visit to booking a great taxi for homebound. The rooms are comfortable, we spent little time in the rooms as we were too busy sight seeing. We ate in the restaurant one night and the service and quality were excellent. Breakfast included catered for all by way of a varied buffet. I have stayed in many places and this ranks as one of the best - HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Vera & john from Dublin stayed at this hotel for our 50th anniversary the hotel was EXELANT Luna & anthonyo were fantastic Luna worked at the bar & anthonyo worked on reception the room we got was no up to our satisfaction so we asked for another NO PROBLEM there food was lovely not to dear service OUT OF THIS WORLD WE WOULD HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome also a special mention to Michelle also working at the bar Again 😁😁 totally recommend this hotel 😍😍😍 💕💕 loved our stay & michele porter
