There is no doubt, Villa Spalletti Trivelli is a beautiful hotel. On a positive note, we had a very nice and comfortable room. The breakfast was very good too and so were the members of staff serving breakfast. The Reception staff could be so much better for such a high-stardard hotel. The hotel was quite empty and we had the impression, nobody really cared who we were or how were finding the hotel. Again, at this level you expect the staff to at least show some enthusiasm and helpful attitude towards their guests. The sauna was turned off so we had to request to turn it on two hours ahead. We did so but it was still pretty cold. Again, nothing terribly wrong, just maybe train the Reception staff a bit better.
Response from Property: Dear sir, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience on tripadvisor. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and that you loved the breakfast. We regret to say that during your stay the hotel was almost fully booked, not empty. The beauty of the villa and what 99% of our guests love the most is that even when it is full you don't feel like it is and you will always find a quiet space just for you and your family. Our reception staff, on the contrary of what you state, is highly trained. We spend on average 3-6 months training our reception staff and the core of their training is on how service in an 1900's aristocratic private house works: staff is never to be seen nor heard unless requested (hence all the practical buttons in every room, similar to the old bell system that used to be in place in this type of villas). We never intrude in your privacy while always keeping an eye out if you need something. The motto at Villa Spalletti Trivelli is: treat it like you own it. We hope this clarifies your perplexity regarding our reception staff and hope to welcome you back in the future should you wish to experience the Villa again. Best Regards,
Trevor

I have stayed in many luxury hotels. Villa Spalletti is perhaps the finest! A friend who knew we would be traveling to Roma recommended this hotel and it exceeded our expectations! Their concierge and staff were welcoming friendly and exceptionally professional and helpful! The hotel is historic, lovely and located right in the heart of Roma. We will now absolutely insist we stay with this hotel every time we visit this ancient magical city! Arrivederci!

It was definitely different than some other hotels, but worth it. Really nice clean great experience. Great customer service. Good breakfast If you driving your own car you might have a little problem with very narrow streets and tight parking spots and you need to contact the hotel to arrange your permission to drive to the hotel in downtown Rome Great location walking distance to everything

Thank you for my wonderful stay & experience at your beautiful Villa Spalletti Trivelli, one can only understand the uniqueness & the quality of everything it has to offer only by being there. A unique experience staying at an elegant historical Villa hotel in Rome with your own wonderful staff who make you feel right at home. Great central location , beautiful gardens to enjoy & a wonderful rooftop to relax after a busy day in Rome. This is a perfect place for an intimate & a special occasion trip, or an extended family traveling together, as well as a group of friends. I definitely recommend experiencing the unique hospitality at Villa Spalletti Trivelli when coming to Rome.

We stayed for 1 night. Arrived late afternoon and faced a horrible room in shock. We knew there was no other room available as the hotel was booked out. We had one night in Rome and knew there was no point arguing with “people” that sell these kind of rooms - completely different to what is advertised in their website/*********** (look the attached photos). Having prepaid EUR1,330 (plus city tax), not preauthorized - prepaid, we knew there was no point arguing to change us hotel and our time was also limited. At the day of checkout, we showed at a member of the personnel the room. We asked her if she would had been satisfied had she had stayed at a room like that during her holiday. She was ashamed and understood the fraud. She said that she would look at what she could do. 30mins later at the checkout the best they could do was to ask us to pay the city tax of EUR7 that was outstanding. Pathetic. No words can further describe the misery of this place. One that looks at the attached photos can realize that there is no such place on earth, at any given point of time that is worth EUR1,330 per night. The kitchen is more than 50 years old, the mould inside and outside is quite phenomenal. We got clearly defrauded by a greedy owner/manager that decided to make a snatch by selling such room on a night that were booked out. All the room of these type have clearly more modern kitchens. Maybe this room is left to be sold as snatch when they are booked out. Digging a bit more into, seems that owners/managers believe they are some some kind of aristocrats which cannot take criticism well. Aristofraudsters/aristothieves certainly suits them more appropriately, who want their victims to treat them with respect… We do respect how good they managed to fool us. Our family lawyer is taking the issue with the relevant authorities, Small Luxury Hotels and ***********. The latter has already downgraded the property by one point (point and no star as they were not properly star-rated). Beware, do a good to yourself and avoid this place. There are so many great properties in Italy, please choose carefully.

This is a world-class, unique hotel in a most beautiful city. A former private villa, the rooms and common spaces provide the guest with luxury and warmth. All surfaces, doors, carpets and linens have been carefully considered, and are simply beautiful. Bathrooms are gorgeous. We greatly enjoyed the afternoon drinks (Aperol Spritz!), the delicious breakfast and the well-stocked (and free) mini-bar. Special recognition to Francesco, Francesca, Franco and Marco at reception. Their genuine friendliness and kindness every day made our stay so pleasant. My sister and I stayed in Room 6, the Parione. This is the only room with a balcony, looking out onto a leafy street. Villa Spalletti will forever hold a place in my heart.

It has been almost a month since we left Villa Spalletti and I still find myself wanting to go back! Just simply understated elegance. Wonderful beautiful property, location was great - close to everything but still quiet and private, the staff was so helpful - made great dinner recommendations, reservations, set up transportation, arranged massages after a long travel day, etc. Service was top notch throughout our stay! The room was very comfortable, well-appointed and lovely (request the balcony - so lovely to sit out there and have a drink before heading to dinner). We really loved the cocktail hour and sitting outside in the evening. Just a wonderful place and look forward to visiting again someday soon!

Do nt be put off by the unassuming street entrance as once inside you can not fail to be amazed at the stunning interior of this boutique hotel. Once the home of a wealthy Italian family it still has the feel of a grade house rather than a hotel. There are a number of lounges and an impressive study all beautifully decorated with antiques and tapestries. Our bedroom was larger than average with a seating area and walk-in closet. We felt very at home and would like to thank all the staff for there kind assistance and great restaurant recommendation. If we ever come back to Rome we know the best hotel in town. 10/10 !

This place is absolutely fantastic! The staff, the venue, the extras; it truly is like having your own 16th century villa in the heart of Rome. This place is an incredible gem. The service the decor, I mean I cant say enough good things. I would move in if I could.

This is an outstanding Hotel, from the moment I walked in and was greeted by Franco and offered a cold beer on hot day whilst our luggage was attended to, you knew the standard had been set, the actual grounds and common area of the hotel made me feel like I was staying in the "Villa Borghese" our room was spacious with an excellent modern bathroom and properly functioning AC. The 24hrs gym is modern and adequate, the individual spa's upstairs made a welcome relief each afternoon as did the cocktail hour down stairs. The breakfast each morning was lovely and well prepared all in all I could go on and on about what makes this hotel one of my favourite stays I have ever had, so the short story is "Great Location"- "Excellent Staff"- "Luxurious Surrounds" I will be back.

This is the most unique hotel I've ever stayed in. The service was impeccable and the room was extremely comfortable especially given the central location.

I will never stay anywhere else in Rome. We have traveled to Rome many times. We have stayed in practical hotels with children to a week in the St Regis Rome last summer. Service, room, location, lobby, sitting rooms, garden, AC, everything is perfect. You will feel like you are inRome in an Italian Villa because you are!! We found it through the Hyatt site.

Villa Spalletti Trivelli is an exceptional experience in every sense of the word. We have stayed in several hotels in Rome over the years and Hotel Spalletti Trivelli surpassed them all in every way. The attention to detail in our beautiful room was second to none and the delicious offerings at breakfast with service by the breakfast team was exemplary, not to forget the members of housekeeping who looked after our room during our stay. Every wish and request was granted graciously with a smile from the superb reception team lead by the excellent front of house manager Francesco. We can hardly wait to return to Villa Spalletti Trivelli to repeat this very memorable experience.
