Il Miraggio in Val d'Orcia Relais & Spa

As part of our Tuscany road trip, we picked this property in advance for a night stay. Let me tell you that this property is just amazing. The minute we arrived we were treated so well by all the hotel staff. Luca was incredible in sharing suggestions about the wineries we should visit, as well as a great restaurant for dinner and how to arrange our itinerary. Everything he suggested turned out to be top notch, the winery, were we had Nobile di Montepulciano, and the cherry on top, the restaurant for dinner. The property has a permanent fragrance that just exudes class. Rooms are amazing, a piece of art, with a sleep quality top notch. It includes breakfast, which served an awesome coffee (yes, espresso for me) some of the best croissants all with a beautiful view of Val D'orcia. Didn't use the pool, but the area is amazing. When in Tuscany, spending time in Val D'orcia, stay at this place!

This is, without a doubt, my favorite place I have ever stayed. I wished I had planned my stay to be much longer. Our room, Tintoretto, was elegant, roomy and comfortable. The property is beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned for Tuscany. The service and staff were top notch from beginning to end. Every need and most wants were anticipated and everyone was very attentive and seemed to know what I needed without me having to even ask. (I forgot to get a spoon for my yogurt at breakfast and before I could get up from my chair, Marco brought me a bowl of spoons.) Antinello is very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure our stay was fantastic.  Every staff member I encountered was very attentive and helpful and I give everyone of them 5 stars, from check-in to check-out. We had dinner there one of the two nights we were there and I wished we had eaten there both nights. Every course was delicious as was the wine suggestion. I loved the cheese cake presentation and no, I did not misspell cheesecake ;) I highly recommend Il Mirragio and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Il Miraggio 4 nights and we had a lovely time. The property is really beautiful, with great panoramic views of the valley. The hotel is elegant and refined and we loved the big old fashioned bathtub in the middle of the room. The pool area is wonderful and so are all the cute spots where one can seat and admire the view. We also loved the SPA where we had a wonderful massage. The staff is extremely kind. We entrained in lovely conversations with Felice, the owner who is really charming and attentive to his guests. I can't say enough good things about Il Miraggio in Val d'Orcia! This was our second visit to this charming boutique hotel (our first stay was Oct 2022) and we're already planning our next trip back! We make the trip to Italy every other year, and dedicate a significant amount of time to finding the best luxury hotels as we are seasoned and particular travelers. For us, it's all about finding the perfect combination of location, luxurious accommodations, cleanliness, quality bedding, and amenities such as a spa and restaurant - Il Miraggio has all of these and more! Our initial stay in 2022 left such a lasting impression that my husband was more than willing to return to Italy solely because we would be staying at Il Miraggio. And let me tell you, even if the owners decided to double the room rates, it would still be an absolute steal for what you get. I'm not exaggerating one bit. One of the things we love most about this gem of a hotel is its perfect location. It's just a short 5-minute walk to the charming town of San Quirio, which quickly became one of our favorite places to explore. It's the ideal blend of countryside tranquility and city accessibility. The hotel is also close to Pienza, Montalcino (15 minute drive to each) and Montepulciano (25 minute drive). The beautifully decorated bar, where you can enjoy an aperitivo before your dinner in the wine cellar, is a definite highlight of the experience. The food at the restaurant is excellent - so good that we had dinner here four out of the five nights of our stay (and we regret not eating there every night!). The service was also exceptional - Antonello and Marco are true professionals! Dinner in the wine cellar is a real treat, adding an extra layer of elegance to the whole experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable with all the expected amenities - robe, slippers, Ferragamo toiletries. Each room is unique - we stayed in Vasari last year with a king bed, free-standing bathtub and unbelievable tiled walk-in shower. This time our room was Brunelleschi with a king bed, large bathroom, separate sitting area and an outdoor seating area with views of the spa, pool and countryside. I had two services at the spa (massage and facial) and both were incredibly relaxing - Cristina is great! Last year I took a cooking class which was fun and educational. They also arranged a wine tasting for us in nearby Montalcino at Podere Le Ripi which we loved. We've had the privilege of staying at many luxury hotels during our travels, but Il Miraggio simply blows them all away. The level of service and attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel's operation is truly remarkable. Il Miraggio in Val d'Orcia is not just a hotel; it's an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a slice of paradise in Italy that offers the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and culinary delights, this is the place to be. Trust us, you won't regret it.

Il Miraggio is perfectly located for exploring the Tuscan countryside, within sight of Montalcino. Whether you’re hiking or driving, or maybe just settling in for a quiet relaxing stay, then Il Miraggio is an excellent choice. Beautiful views, large comfortable rooms, excellent dining and the best service is all here. There’s an outdoor pool, spa, lovely patio for relaxing and excellent dining. We enjoyed the food here so much we had dinner here three out of our four nights. Large bathroom with wonderful showers, bathtub in the room, good wifi, bathrobes, slippers and more. Breakfast was a lovely start to our days. Our stay here was unforgettable and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

I would rate Il Miraggio a 6 out of 5, it was that spectacular! We stayed in The Dante Suite which was beautiful Italian decor. You never doubted for one moment where you were. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, and superb pillows. The breakfast is delightful and is eaten on the patio over looking the vineyards and olive trees. Dinner is served in the same manner with romantic lights surrounding you. Food in both places is excellent. The hotel is within walking distance to a small town with some churches, shops, and food establishments. It’s also within walking distance to a small family run winery which we found to be superb. But the absolute best thing about this Inn are the staff members! Angelo, the GM, sets such a warm and welcoming environment and all the other members follow his lead. Serena, the Front Office Manager, and her team were extremely friendly and quick to respond to any requests. Even the grounds keeper would have a friendly “Good Morning” when he would walk by you. We stayed in 4 other hotels during our 2 week visit and this was by far our favorite! We’re already thinking about when we may get back again!

Luxurious, beautifully adorned property with wonderful, genuine service. Had a wonderful massage in their spa. They booked us a wonderful wine tour nearby. Restaurant is excellent as well. Our room was large and very comfortable. Perfect place to relax in Tuscany.

As a seasoned traveler in the travel industry business, this hotel is now on my top 5 favorite places to stay (that’s out of literally hundreds and hundreds of hotels around the world). My expectations are high because I’ve stayed at some spectacular places in my life. My room was incredible, the furniture, king bed, decor and attention to details was amazing. Just stunning and captures the essence of Val D’Orcia. The windows have screens which is a lovely touch and you can have fresh air all night without bugs in your rooms. The A/C was really good for such a hot day. Bed mattress, sheets and blanket were a dream (literally best sleep in all of Italy). Views from window incredible. Bathroom spectacular with Ferragamo products. Staff was some of the best in the world. I truly mean it. Mauro was so nice and brought up ALL our suitcases which was no easy task. He insisted! He then showed me the pool and spa area when I came downstairs. The spa was fantastic and reasonably priced. Only 95 euros for 55 minute massage ! The spa was new and gorgeous. So tranquil and serene. Christina was so warm and wonderful at the spa. Richard was great with giving me a much needed massage. The restaurant staff was amazing. Food was incredible and nothing was too much trouble. Gian Luca was incredibly kind, funny, hardworking and always had a smile. He speaks many languages and spoke wonderful English to me. My husband loved speaking in Italian with him. He also knows French too! This gentleman was like a one man band. He sat us, served us and bussed our table. He did that with all the tables that night! Giving each table his full attention. Even presented a cake to the table next to us and sang happy birthday and lit a candle. He truly is an asset to the hotel. Front desk staff and general manager were incredibly kind and attentive. You come as a guest and leave like friends/family. My only mistake is that I didn’t book at least 5 nights there this trip. Miss it already and I’m staying at a 5 star property in Chianti…what does that say! Book it, it’s a delight!
