5 star service and hospitality all around!! I stayed at Motel 6 Santa Maria during the AIDS Lifecycle ride. The room was sparkling clean, well maintained, and everything looked new. Wifi was fast, airconditioning worked and there was even a good-sized table and chair to eat or work on. The onsite laundry room was a godsend after accumulating 3 days of dirty laundry on the ride. The staff even brought her own Tide laundry soap to donate to riders doing laundry. I love this Motel 6 more than some 5-star hotels I've stayed in in the US.

A motel with a high price/performance ratio in the prime location of Highway 1, but it should be noted that the hotel does not have an elevator, and the rooms on the first floor are generally arranged for the elderly and the disabled, so those with a lot of luggage or heavy friends should choose carefully

Nothing was very noisy and after being on the road for 10 hours and arriving 10:30 at night I recieved a room on the second floor asked for a room on the first and was told he didnt know how to change my reservation. Being tired and elderly it was hard getting to my room.

I booked a reservation for 2 nights and the night I arrived, the hot water worked, but in the morning, it was out. I cancelled my 2nd night, so I'm not sure how long it was before the water got fixed.
My sheets were also dirty.

We started staying at Motel 6 because they have their act together and are upgrading almost all their hotels. We stayed in room 218 and one of the beds did not have a mattress cover which was disgusting IMO. This Motel is ok but not completely upgraded inside the rooms. The outside looks great and it is safe. The parking lot is very well lit and we had to leave some items in the back of our truck and no one took anything. The hotel looked full but there was no noise and the bed was comfortable. We slept through the night without being woken up.

For $85/nt, what you get is good. Clean 2 double beds and a bathroom.
FYI… shower stall is pretty small (big, tall people may not have much room to move around. I’m only 5’2” and it’s small. No fridge, no microwave (extra $), no shampoo/conditioner. Only 2 small soap bars. We just stayed for 1 night sleep. So no big deal.
