Planters Inn on Reynolds Square

Historic Savannah Savannah|0.05km from Savannah History Walk
First let me state I have ZERO clue why anyone would rate this hotel as anything other than a terrible rating!! The owners of this hotel should be ASHAMED!! It’s completely run down and nothing that you should expect in a major tourist city of a boutique hotel in a historic district!! Nothing against the management or all of the staff here who are very kind and do their best to accommodate requests; but the hotel is run down, so dirty down in the mezzanine area where a main toilet is for guests; the lobby when we first walked in had litter around the rugs and the furniture was so dusty!! That was my first impression and I should have listened to instinct and canceled our stay instead of waiting for our room to be ready. I did comment on how unkempt and dirty the lobby was to the front desk and that I hoped that our room would be clean. We then left for a few hours to walk around and eat. Impression of the immediate surrounding area wasn’t any better. You’re right by the beautiful and historic Olde Pink House and Reynolds Square and the streets are filthy, covered in cigarette butts and litter, and the park immediately across the street is filled with people from the homeless shelter right down the block. They were all very respectful, however this was unexpected. Upon return the lobby had been cleaned at least and we were shown to our room. Our luggage had been stored and when brought back, there was a large yellow stain on my suitcase. The walls in the mezzanine are yellow so I have zero clue if storage does and if so, how this stain appeared that looks like the paint. We stayed in one of the two balcony rooms that overlook the park. The room next to us had the door wide open and fans running to air out what I can only assume was the extreme mustiness that greeted us in our completely run down room, with old disgusting carpet I would never walk on in bare feet; the most uncomfortable squeaky bed with a huge dip in the middle, pillows that felt like they were stuffed with peas, and bedding that while clean, was pilled and also ancient in appearance. It only gets worse from there with the poorly lit bathroom that you can’t see to do your makeup; a toilet that when you flush it you could get sucked down into it and if you don’t close it before you flush, you’ll get all sprayed with whatever you just put into it; ancient paint that looks like it has veins growing under it and is bubbled and marred; the most uncomfortable towels that aren’t soft; a floor I again didn’t want to walk on in bare feet; and a shower/tub combo that fills with water as you shower and again looks dirty, but is just so old there’s no way to scrub the dinginess out of it. The ‘balcony’ is shared and had two small iron tables with chairs and was covered in old bird poop. Again, you overlook the square instead of the loud parking garage on this side, but the view of the square isn’t as expected, plus the patio door sticks; doesn’t seem secure when locked; and the windows ar

Better than domestic Samsung, the bedding towels are white and clean, you can ask for them at any time, that is, there is no room service after 10 o'clock, you have to throw the garbage out and change the garbage bag. Dirty towels should also be placed in the linen basket at the door, and go back to the lobby to get the towels at night. Hot coffee in the lobby has been provided free of charge, disposable paper cups, and the quality is very good. The lobby bar is enough to sit and enjoy and watch pedestrians passing by outside. Free breakfast is also ok. There are eggs and bacon, bread, coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal. Nutrition is enough. It was the young lady at the front desk who mischarged us on the day of check-in, and it was lifted after five days. We stayed for three days and came back every day if we didn't get the card to the front desk to update it, we couldn't open the door. The room is a bit narrow and cramped, especially if you bring the kitchen, it is even narrower. The bathroom has a smell of sewers, which is almost the same as the domestic Samsung. In addition, the room rate booked through Trip.com was more than 2,000 per day, and I continued to live for one day. I called the hotel directly. The price was less than 1400. Yuan can say that Savannah is worthy of the top leisure city, air tickets and hotel prices are too high. Facilities: General Hygiene: General Environment: OK, very close to the river, convenient for travel Service: acceptable, basic needs can be met.

We had Nick as our valet most of our stay at Hotel Indigo in Savannah GA and he was so kind, helpful and just a refreshing wonderful human! In today’s world where we are having trouble finding great employees Nick is a keeper! Thanks for always making us smile Nick!

Globalist. Got the suite upgrade, which was great. Breakfast had stellar options, including blueberry bourbon pancakes and chicken and waffles. Pool area is relaxing, gym is on the smaller side, but has everything you'd need (including a Peloton, yay!). Valet parking only, but comp'd for Globalists. Service was impeccable, with special kudos to Front Desk Manager Ebony. The location of this hotel is what makes it the must-stay spot. You're right on Ellis Square, so central to everything. Highly recommend while staying in Savannah.

It is said to be the most historic hotel in Savannah. Once you enter the hotel, you can feel its classical elegance. The doorman is very enthusiastic and the front desk service is very attentive. We arrived too early, the room had not been sorted out, and we specially left our phone. We noticed that we had checked in when the room came out. In the lobby and other family procedures, I also specially brought free mineral water. The room is wooden and the furniture is old furniture. Have a strong sense of art. It is worthy of being a hotel in the city of Savannah with a strong artistic atmosphere.

Wow, how to begin. The hotel and rooms are quite beautiful and the never ending view along the river with the almost constant movement of gigantic ships, is mesmerized. The location is also perfect with enough restaurants and shops within close proximity that you can find plenty to keep occupied even on the occasional rainy day. Now, with all that said, a caveat to any travelers wanting any semblance of rest. The second floor rooms are pure nightmare. There appears to be some sort of a supply room on that floor. The staff likes to use it for rather loud gossip and partying and when not in use by the staff, there apparently is a bowling league practice in there! The noise from tables and chairs and dishes being moved around at times even late into the night is just aggregating! The walls offer absolutely NO help in reducing the racket. Would we return to River Street Inn again? YES! As a matter of fact, we can't wait to return but, only if we would be guaranteed a room on the 4th or 5th floor!

The rooms and the apartment were great. You couldn't have had a better location. Going to Trip.com was terrible. We were not given an access code even though it said the hotel has a reception. We had to walk to a coffee shop that had wifi to even open the booking and then call customer service which cost me €30 because I'm from the EU. Trip.com didn't give us any info.
