Jinjiang Metropolo Hotel Classiq, Shanghai Bund Circle

Positives: The location is great, 5 min walk from Nanjing Street and 10 min walk from the Bund. There are lots of great restaurants around, and you can have food delivered to the hotel 🥰 The bed was very comfy and slept really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Could be better: Someone else wrote a review about their upgrade. I can confirm that having a room upgrade for the 'city' view' is not worth it. I would've preference an upgrade for a slightly bigger room. The view was disappointing. The bathroom - the water pressure in the shower was quite sad. Replacing the shower heads might help with that. The sealant around the shower cabin could do with being cleaned better or replaced. Overall, I'd stay there again, mainly for the location.

As mentioned in my previous review, we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our first stop in Shanghai and 1 more night in our second stop. This is the review for our second stop. When we checked in the 2nd time, there was no warm welcome. In fact, the receptionist had a sour look on her face, not friendly or welcoming at all. We don't remember her name, it was Fanny? Fandy? Anyway, she said that our bed was 1.5 meters and asked if we wanted a bigger bed at 1.8 meters. We realised this was somewhat similar to how when we first checked in during our 4 nights stay. This was exactly how the hotel reception would "persuade" you into paying more for your room. They will either say things like, "Your bed is small. Do you want to upgrade?" or "Your bedroom is facing the aircon vents. Do you want to upgrade?" All this scheme in getting guests to pay more than what they have already paid for is really unethical. We have stayed in many hotels in many countries and have never come across such tricks before. On top of that, we stayed at several other hotels during our visit to China, and all other hotels gave us excellent service. This was, unfortunately, not the best. After these 2 experiences, I'm sorry to say that we will not return to this hotel the next time we visit Shanghai.

Nice hotel complex, quiet since far from traffic of Maoming Road

Near Nanjing road east street, but solo travelers ladies for me feel a bit unsafe on night time, overall are good.

The art deco style of this hotel is amazing. The decoration is done with great style. So if you want to book something different, this is the place The breakfast offers a good variety and quality. The hotel is near the bundle, not far from the Shanghai museum and the urban exhibition hall.

Great location easy to get around.... Hotel staff are helpful and cleanliness is on point Would stay there again next time
