Travelodge by Wyndham Sharon Springs

The hotel room was spotless and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The adjacent diner was awesome. Only about 25 minutes south of I-70 the Travelodge was well worth the drive and a great value.

Staff, service and Penny's Diner are awesome! The food at Penny's Diner is fantastic. Breakfast is served 24 hours a day and they do have lunch and supper items also. We actually stayed here again because of the diner. The nice surprise this time was the remodeled/updated rooms. The rooms are very clean and have been sanitized. The bed was very comfortable, not too firm. There were a lot of channels on the TV to choose from. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room, no coffee maker. All you need to do is head to Penny's Diner on the property and show your room key. You will be given however many coffees you want in large, tall to go cups with whatever creamers and sugars you would like. (Regular, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, ext.,,,) There is also a family room or big living room on the main level first floor, as you come in and turn to the right. It is at the end of the hallway across from the Exit. The family room boasts a very large TV, several big chairs with footstools, a coffee maker and a microwave. This was a nice place to hang out and wait for the rest of your party. Be aware there is no elevator. The property has 2 floors. If you have mobility issues, ask to stay on the 1st floor that is on the main level. We did stay on the second floor, could have asked to stay on the first floor, but we didn't really have any mobility issues except carrying luggage up and down stairs is more of a work out than you think it is. Elevators are very expensive and need to be serviced every year or maybe even more often and I understand that an elevator may not be an option right now but maybe later on. We were very happy here and will stay again on our way to Colorado or to visit family again in Western Kansas.

Hotel was ok, cafe was disgusting flys all over and employees were dirty. Didn’t eat at cafe due to those reasons

After a long day of travel, this hotel checks all the boxes! A quiet hotel, super comfortable bed and you can't beat the price. There's a Penny's Diner on the property where you go to check in. Raymond welcomed us, checked us in and handed us a menu. There's tons of options to eat from something healthy to lots of comfort food options. Very friendly and super accommodating 🙌

As in most small towns in Kansas, you don't have a large choice of hotels (one, maybe two) to choose from, and that was the case in Sharon Springs. Lot's of first time oddities with this hotel. First thing is that we pull up to the hotel and there is no obvious entry to the hotel. There is no lobby to check in. On our second door we read a sign that we must check in at the dinner located at the front of the hotel. Man was very nice checking us in, and we stayed and ate in the dinner. The same man cooked our hamburgers, which were very good. After dinner we went back to the first door we tried. The outside appearance of the hotel isn't great. A worn out, I guess a refrigerator was laying on its side in the parking lot right by the main entry. ****s were growing up in along the sidewalks. Truthfully, just looking at it, you would think that the hotel was out of business. We had trouble getting in. This might have been an old person thing, but we tried every which direction on the card with no luck. A second trip to the dinner for a new card and got right in. We got to the room and didn't need a card because the door wasn't locked. The room was actually large. Even though there was some wear and tear, the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable, and we both got a great night of sleep. We checked out to a cheerful woman in the dinner, and again we ate there. Great breakfast. Truthfully, some people would have walked away, but we were okay with it.

While this is the only place to stay in town, we enjoyed it. Check in at the diner, super cute with good food and great service. Our room was clean although the mattress on our bed needs to be replaced since it appears a repeat customer has caused a major dent on once side so my husband inadvertently kept rolling on top of me (I was on the downhill side).

Rooms could have been cleaner. The stairway was very dirty. Rooms were not cleaned during our stay. Overpriced due to the condition of the hotel.

Checking in at the diner next door. Inconvenient at best. Smelled weird. Just meh.

It was fine for the price we paid. Convenient that it's next to a restaurant.
