Grand Hotel Swanage Reviews

Facilities were closed. We were not able to use gym or swimming pool, something we were looking forward to. No parking at or near the hotel, despite being informed we would be able to park. Staff were not helpful. I imagine it's because they were consumed by hosting a wedding, but that shouldn't take away from other clients. At 11pm, a random person entered the room and woke us whilst looking around the room, as staff had provided him with a key to our room. This is shocking. Incredibly poor and not what we paid for. We mentioned these issues and there was little sympathy and no offer of a refund. I hope the staff change their mind as it's clear this is not the service we paid for.

Overall it's good. The sauna was also worth a try. It’s a really good sunrise spot.

The room had a stunning view and was comfortable, however having to duck to walk around the bed was a bit of a pain. The food was nice however service at the bar and in the restaurant was fairly slow. The bar surface was sticky.

Hotel is well located with great views. Had an evening meal which was lovely. Breakfast was distinctly average with a pretty limited selection. The room was pretty small and the furniture is in need of some love. The double bed was tiny and, sadly, really quite uncomfortable. The bathroom looked to have been refitted fairly recently and was well appointed.

Loved the hotel, very comfortable room, lovely breakfast and happy to go extra for my husband who is coeliac (gluten free), lovely dinner in the evening and really reasonable prices for breakfast, dinner, bars etc. Hotel is a little tired but overall a fantastic stay

Evening meal very good except being charged over £2 for a bread roll. Room (103) generally good but towel rail did not work, lack of power sockets and a damp smell in bathroom. Bed very comfortable and room very quiet. Room service at £3 was good value and arrived on time and nice and warm.

There was not a tremendous amount of parking available but the room and onsite facilities were terrific.

After a Random evening in Dorset . I chanced upon the Grand hotel and couldn’t have been happier with my choice .

Really nice hotel, very clean with efficient friendly service and a great location overlooking the sea.

Hotel has old world style with modern comforts. Food at dinner was excellent. We took ours on the terrace overlooking the bay The storm was pretty dramatic. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Room also overlooking the bay was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast could be improved. Quality of cooked breakfast was poor. Otherwise, highly recommend and would go back. Hope to do so!

Everything perfect from first entering the hotel to departure Erving meal near to perfection, need to ensure Port is available if suggested on menu.
