"Room was cramped, felt like a travel lodge bolted to a nice old building. The curtains did not block much light, the pole being very wonky. The bathroom was not of a very good standard. For the price we expected more than just a basic stay. Breakfast service was unusual to say the least - we arrived early to the restaurant and asked if it would be OK. The waiter responded with "well, I can hardly kick you out can I?"."

"This was our 2nd visit to this wonderful gem! We spent my husband's 70th birthday here last weekend with family. Jon, the manager, went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure that we had everything we needed, including a buffet and amazing strawberry birthday cake for our party! The rooms are lovely, all differently themed, the open plan living room/kitchen is also a lovely place to spend time. The shop, cafe and garden centre are all absolutely gorgeous, we loved spending time sitting in the glasshouse admiring the plant displays, while having coffee! There's a new children's play area, which has large 4 in a Row, Jenga, child size wooden play village with shop, till, food, Vet's, and of course, a cafe! Table tennis table outside too. This place has everything, we loved it! We took the ferry from Tayinloan to Gigha and hired bikes for half a day, which was well worth it."

"This was our third stay at Stonefield castle. It is a beautiful building with a nice bit of history. The grounds are extensive with scenic views and wonderful walks. The staff at the hotel were courteous and friendly. There were many lounge rooms and a well stocked bar. It is a handy place for a short stay near Tarbert if you are touring the Loch Fyne area. We shall return."

"This was a pleasant surprise. The welcome was lovely, the room was spotless with very good quality beds and bedding. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Guests have use of the courtyard with seating in the greenhouse. The breakfast in the morning was of great quality too. We will definitely stay again when down that way."
