Best Two Star Hotels in Tawau

Hotel: The check in process was a mess. They wanted deposits when checking in that was not listed when we booked the hotel. No one to help us with luggage to our rooms have to carry them ourselves. Luckily there is a elevator/lift to the floors which makes it a bit easier. The hotel is not near any good food stalls, you have to travel quite a distance to get decent food. The only good thing is that it is near the major market where you can purchase fresh seafood and other products that you might want to take home as souvenirs. They are also near a supermarket which allows you to buy almost anything you need a reasonably cheap price. Room: Stuffy when we entered. It's like no one has stayed there for a long time. Turned the air conditioning unit on and it took hours before the room got to a nice temperature. The towels are rough and there is no soap, shampoo or other amenities you would normally find at even the cheapest hotel. The shower is ok with hot water. There is no floor mat so there will be wet floors if you walk out of the bath room wet. The window was not locked when we went in and there is a fire balcony and stairs in front of the window which poses a risk of your room being burglarise at any time. It is better to have a room without window as the view is nothing to shout about. Service: Very very poor. When we ask for soap, extra towels and etc ... the standard answer we don't have extra towels or soap. The reception does not do anything for you except to make sure you pay the deposit and process your checking in/out. Summary: Will never ever stay in this hotel again for my next trip to Tawau. Will NOT recommend anyone to stay here even if the prices are reasonable because the service and rooms are not up to standard. This place should not be called a hotel.

This hotel is clean and situated in a great location. The staff is courteous and helpful. The room is spacious. The bed sheet and pillow cover are spotless clean and smell good. The toilet is decent with hot shower. Still, there are water marks on the toilet wall that are still acceptable. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. There are convenience stores and ATMs in the vicinity. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Semporna Seaview Hotel started operation in 2022, consider quick a new hotel, overall the room condition looked a bit old and the cleanliness is acceptable, location was very near to seafoods restaurant, some tour pick up points. It is next to boat parking area, who's are sensitive to noise, please do not choose to stay at this hotel, because you will wake up by boat motor in the early morning.

A cheap and comfortable hotel, the room is spacious, suitable for both of you, even the TV doesn't disturb you because the bedroom is foreign, the bathroom is also spacious....

Love this hotel, very comfortable. This might not be the best hotel but definitely is one that you can stay for couple of days.

I forgot to collect my deposit after check out on 14.1.2022. I contacted the hotel through phone but rejected as reported that my confirmation no is invalid. Please do advice me. Thank You

The room was quite spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. Got 7e next to the hotel lobby, really easy to buy necessaries.

I had 1 night here in Tawau before heading to Kalimantan. Just enough for a transit not for enjoying or relaxing. There are restaurants, 7/11, restaurants down the street. Night market nearby just sellThere are some decent restaurants, Starbuck, local coffee shops and groceries in the opposite building

Renting a room under Hotel Emas Tawau: Imagine every time when you have the urge and rush to washroom to answer the nature's call (number 2), only to find out that there is NO WATER, and whatever coming out needs to be put on hold. Each and every time, each and every day, that has been my life in Tawau in the past 2 months. Empty water tank or faulty water pump, either way NO WATER. Need to shower - no water. Need to pass motion - no water. Need to cook or wash - no water Need to practise hand hygiene (wash hand) in a super red zone during pandemic - NO WATER. Have been paying >RM800 per month for rental, water, and electricity with NO INTERNET CONNECTION, for staying in a unit where rats outnumber the human.

The employee response was very kind. Rooms are clean and perfect. The price is reasonable and the cost performance is very good.
